I think it goes quite back till Ammu's engagement to Gautam. She hastily instigated Ishika & supported Virat to break Ammu's engagement... She did express regret for her hastyiness in stopping the engagement bcoz if she didn't stop, then Ammu would have gone away. The plain white one, fwik, is also presented to the elders as a token of respect.

Yeah. But I was talking about this plot specifically. babs was shown happy when Ammu said she wants to take the case back... then shocked at the lie. Since she was happy, think she didn't expect him to get arrested - may have thought he will go through some humiliation (rightful acc to her), but Ammu will be the one who goes through most.

Looking at the precap it looks like he will blame her just to make sure Culprit does not have doubt about their fake marriage drama. It's just act infront of all. Also first when they planned this fake marriage they said they will see who gets more jealous seeing their marriage. I think that person is right infront of them and showing her frustration just they are ignoring her by blindly trusting her being his mother.

I think after seeing those pics she was assuming Aaji will take them back to the village as her image is ruined because of this picture as mostly girls don't want to take legal route because of girls reputation. Her plan backfired since Aaji filed complaint against Virat still she was considering Ammu will tell the truth and case will be closed but Ammu marriage promise statement was a bouncer for her. That's why to be on safer side she emotionally blackmailed him to go to London so this case will be closed and she will not have to face consequences of the same.
