Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim, Croatia
The people's winner. In the past few years, Eurovision has really revived the dance metal/dance rock genre. Not a single person sat in the village during this performanceβeveryone was up on their feet, jumping, dancing, and screaming. The energy of seeing this performance is unparalleled. The livestock imagery won my Wisconsin heart, and the dancing cats just melted it into a puddle. Meow cat, please meow back. Croatia came so close to taking it all. While Baby Lasagna may not have won Eurovision he won the hearts of Europe. Also, everyone is lamenting that Croatia would have been a much cheaper trip.

Despite the loss, Croatians are leaning into the song. It's almost become an unofficial national anthem. This is what I love about Eurovision - the quirky, joyful brand of national pride.
