I'm going to share my personal top ten from Eurovision. Also, I am linking only videos available in the USA. If you can, watch the actual performances.

10. It is a tie between Mon Amour by Slimane, France, and Luktelk by Silvester Belt, Lithuania. Mon Amour is a vocal flex. The song is just some of the most incredible vocals I have ever heard. If Slimane hadn't faltered in the Jury show, France could have been the winner. Luktelk was the first bop I heard, and I love that it is sung in Lithuanian. It is so refreshing when countries sing in their native language. Plus, poor Silvester's trauma at the finals.

Nemo - The Code, Switzerland

I know Nemo won Eurovision and I am thrilled for them. When it comes to singing, this was a flawless performance that incorporated a wide vocal range and styles of singing. No wonder the Jury loved it so much. A lot of fans also loved it, and it generated a lot of sing-along. But it is just not an earworm.

Marina Satti - Zari, Greece

I'm always partial to the songs in their native language. Plus, Zari is a catchy bop, and Marina Satti is a queen who isn't afraid to speak her mind. The Greek are friends.

5MIINUST x Puuluup - (Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kΓΌll) midagi, Estonia

Estonian is a tough language. Every word seemed contrived and longer than it should be. Did they choose this song to fvck with all the commentators? The name of the song translates to We (really) know nothing about (these) drugs. The song may have fared poorly with the scoring. But in the arena and village, people had fun. During the second semifinal the entire technical booth was dancing. It's great to see some middle-aged men having fun with a banger.

Windows95 Man - No Rules, Finland

The song that made Eurovision fans turn back their computers to Windows95. Now we know why Finland is always the world's happiest nation. This song is pure joy. It is a completely silly and hilarious joke song that exemplifies the pinnacle of Eurodance campiness.

5.

Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue, Ireland

The American perception of Ireland is this conservative nation of Irish Catholics. But in reality, Ireland is a surprisingly progressive nation. Ireland used to be Eurovision royalty with frequent wins but have been in a long creative slump at the contest. Bambie Thug took a risk with their unique brand of Ouija pop and resulted in Ireland's most successful contest in years. The song has the most exquisite performance and staging. And it was lovely to see Ireland back their performer amidst all the drama. This song had the loudest scream along.

4.

Nebulossa - Zorra, Spain

Most of the competition features young twenty-somethings performing modern electronic music. So what does Spain do? They send a 56-year-old woman performing a retro 80s-style bop. And boy, does the queen come on stage and completely slay. Zorra means vixen (bad), bitch (worse), or s|ut (worst) in Spain. The song basically is a feminist anthem about how society is always dismissing women as 'zorra' but how she owns it and is living her best life. The gender reversal with the s|utty male dancers was also delightful. And the energy during this song was unbelievable, the Spanish contingent really showed up.

3.

Ladiniva - Jako, Armenia

Another song that completely leans not only into native Armenian language but also into Armenian culture. The performance was a pure joy to watch. All performers on stage had unparalleled energy, and the staging was coordinated, colorful, and so much fun. The leads singer had such natural charisma on stage and her whistle was delightful. The song reminded me of a Bollywood number and I won't be shocked if someone decides to get 'inspired' by it. Its another song about female empowerment and had the ability to cut all the tension with their pure joy.

2.

Joost Klein - Europapa, Netherlands

The greatest tragedy of this year's Eurovision will be the unceremonial disqualification of Joost Klein - all for trying to protect his privacy. Fans were so pissed off and upset at the EBU's decision that in addition to the booing many people sang Europapa over the other song. People loved the song's meaning and message. It was the most Eurovision song promoting unity. And it is incredible how Joost manages to take his childhood trauma of being an orphan and his love for his deceased dad into a bop that brings joy. Fvck the EBU beholden to it's sponsors over performers. Justice for Joost, stream this one on Spotify.
