Karan Kapoor, known for his work in 'Left Right Left’, 'Doli Armaanon Ki’, has now joined the cast of the popular family drama 'Udaariyaan’

Actor Kunal Karan Kapoor, known for his work in ‘Left Right Left’, ‘Doli Armaanon Ki’, has now joined the cast of the popular family drama ‘Udaariyaan’. According to the sources, “Kunal is the new entry in ‘Udaariyaan’. He will start shooting from today. He will be playing the role of Ranvijay, who is a comic rapper.”

‘Udaariyaan’ has recently taken a leap of six years, and the plot takes a pivotal turn in the lives of Aasmaa (Aditi Bhagat) and Armaan (Anurag Chahal).

The lead protagonist of the show, Aasmaa, gives birth to twins, Meher and Qudrat, setting the stage for a tumultuous series of circumstances. The show also stars Alisha Parveen as Alia.

‘Udaariyaan’ airs on Colors.

Meanwhile, Kunal last featured in the show ‘Maitree’, wherein he played the negative character of Saransh.

He has also starred in shows like ‘Remix’, ‘Maayka’, ‘Ziddi Dil Maane Na’, ‘Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya’ and 'Na bole tum na maine kuch kaha@.

I was approached to play a part in Udaariyaan two years ago, now finally things are working out: Kunal Karan Kapoor

Kunal Karan Kapoor, who was last seen in the TV show Maitree, is all set to enter Udaariyaan. The actor will play a rapper in the show and the other man in the lead actress Aditi Bhagat’s life. Udaariyaan recently took a six years leap and that’s how Kunal’s character will be introduced in the show. He said, “I am portraying this carefree, fun-loving rapper in the show. In fact, this is the third or fourth time Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta reached out to me for a role in Udaariyaan and finally now things have worked. I was in talks even two years ago to play an important role, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to relocate to Chandigarh.”

Kunal added, “When they shared the details of the character, I got really excited. And I have been shooting ever since I landed in Chandigarh. It is a beautiful city and the people are very good here.”

Kunal got popular with the show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha many years ago. Talking about that, he said, “Na Bole… was a show that revolved around slice-of-life characters and now our show makers are focussing on high voltage drama. We are not making realistic shows. And I am happy so long as the script is good and we treat the characters well.”

Regarding his last show Maitree, Kunal revealed how he enjoyed playing a negative character. He said, “From playing lead roles to portraying the antagonist was a challenge. I was very happy to play that role. It was a big change for me. In the last few years I have realised that it is important to play varied roles with good makers. TV is a mass medium and it will grow bigger in another two years. I enjoy doing TV and though we don’t get much time to rehearse or prepare, I feel the medium is so huge that if you are part of good shows, it only helps you in your career.”

Maybe, it may depends on rating. Even it does end I am glad that Kunal Karan Kapoor took up a character like a rapper and he is rapping not just some music is added.
