🏏ICC U19 WC 2024:  Super Six: Group 1 - Pakistan vs Ireland at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom on 30/01/2024 at 1:30PM IST🏏

The first stage of the 2024 Under 19 World Cup is done and it is now time for the Super Sixes to get underway. In the first round of fixtures there will be three matches played on Tuesday, 30th January and the third game of the day will be a Group 1 clash between Pakistan Under-19 and Ireland Under-19 in Potchefstroom. Pakistan Under-19 finished top of Group D in the group stages with three wins out of three and all of them were impressive wins but the final game against New Zealand Under-19 was where they showed there absolute dominance winning the game by 10 wickets and they do look like one of the favorites to win the whole thing. Ireland Under-19 though were put in a tough Group A alongside the last two reigning champions in India and Bangladesh and they lost against them both. But a win against USA gave them the vital 2 points and has taken them into the Super Sixes where they will be looking to notch up a memorable win or two. However, they face and opponent that is in sublime form and the odds are stacked against the Irish players. Can Ireland Under-19 pull off a shock defeat here? Or will Pakistan Under-19 continue on their merry way? We shall find out.

Welcome to our coverage of match number 1 of the Super Six stage between India U19 and New Zealand U19 in Bloemfontein. The recently concluded group stage made for exciting viewing as we saw a number of youngsters across nations rising to the occasion. India topped Group A by winning three out of three matches. The defending champions are in red-form at present. They are firing in unison and will be a tough nut to crack. New Zealand, on the other hand, finished on second position in Group D, courtesy two wins out of three matches. Their batting has looked shaky in their last two encounters. The Kiwis were thrashed by Pakistan in their previous encounter and they will need a turnaround of sorts against a strong Indian team. Just a reminder for all you folks that all 12 teams that made it to the Super Six will carry forward the points and NRR earned in the group stage against their Super Six qualifying teams. The last five encounters between these two teams in the U19 World Cups has seen India emerge victorious on every occasion. Will India continue their dominance? Or will New Zealand stand tall and put up a solid display? Stick around as toss and team line ups will be announced shortly...
