"A bit harsh to say ALL the England spinners are bowling too many short balls. Jack Leach is doing very well so far." Yes, Nicko. This has been a very tidy start

Rehan Ahmed to Shubman Gill, FOUR, that's easy pickings for Gill - full-toss and it's whipped away wide of mid-wicket, has been a battle, but Gill does have his first boundary of the innings

Stumps on Day 1 and it's definitely been India's day. They lost the toss, were asked to bowl first and they then responded well to skittle England out for 246. A few starts, but only Stokes made it past fifty, his made 70 with most of the runs coming with the tail to help his team post a fighting score. 'Bazball' was the oft-repeated word going into the match and England got a taste of their own tatctcis as Jaiswal laid into the inexperienced Tom Hartley. A first ball six, two sixes in his first over and the left-arm spinner didn't recover, getting thumped for 63 in his 8 overs. Leach was impressive and took the only wicket to fall, but India ended the day at 119 for 1, trailing by 127 runs. They'll beleiev a strong day with the bat on Day 2 and this will their match for the taking. England need to show plenty of discipline and keep pegging away if they are to stage a fightback. Jaiswal will be looking forward to a big innings as well. We'll be back at 9:30 am for the first ball of the day. For now, cheers and bye..
