The tenth day of the Winter Session of Parliament is expected to see a few significant businesses, including the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, Repealing and Amending Bill and three reports of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committees on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports.

Parliament chaos.

Parliament chaos.

On Wednesday, two people jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery, with Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury saying they were carrying tear gas canisters.

The House was adjourned soon after.

This security breach in Lok Sabha incidentally happened on the anniversary 2001 Parliament attack during which armed terrorists stormed the Parliament building

What Happened?

Speaking to media persons outside the Parliament, MP Arvind Sawant said two men jumped from the gallery into the chamber and then jumped from bench to get ahead. He added that the men released an “unidentified, yellow colour gas that caused a burning sensation in the nose".

Speaking to PTI, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said the men were carrying tear gas canisters. "One person leapt over the benches of the Lok Sabha while another was seen dangling from the public gallery spraying some tear gas when Zero Hour was in progress," he added.

"This is certainly a security breach because today we observed the death anniversary of people who sacrificed their lives in the 2001 (Parliament attack)," Chowdhury said.

Hope they're locked for a long time.

Security seriously needs to get reviewed. How could random weirdos just jump in with smoke canisters?

Well this is serious incident and raises doubt on the security arrangements. People should be thoroughly checked before they are allowed to enter the parliament. How come they carry such substance in the building.

And yeah strict action should be taken against such miscreants.

The visuals are very confusing!  How come two cops merely caught the perpetrators as if they were petty  thieves and walked with him through the corridors of parliament without any security force following??

Televised footage of the proceedings show members attempting to catch the intruders as they climbed from desk to desk. Both Houses were adjourned moments later. Meanwhile, outside the Parliament building, a man and a woman—identified as 42-year-old Neelam and 25-year-old Amol Shinde — were detained by local police outside New Delhi’s Transport Bhavan, where they were protesting with yellow smoke.

It takes alot of paperworks for even law students to visit parliament as a part of their course structure as far as I know, this is unbelievable and a very serious issue also definitely hinting some aid from insiders smiley24

Lok Sabha Members rushed towards the miscreants and capture them in order to hand them over to police. If these miscreants have weapons or deadly intentions, how far is it appropriate to rush towards criminals rather than alert security?
