An appeal for LBW as Henry produces a beauty first up. It's not given by Dharmasena but NZ are going to review. Is it pitching outside leg, or just in line? And if it is in line, is it too high? A couple of things to look at here. This is fuller than a good length, nips back in from over the wicket and strikes the knee-roll as Malan misses the flick.. Ball-tracking shows it pitches in line with leg, but as Dharmasena had originally indicated, it's too high. Bouncing over the top of middle. Ishaan: "The lack of crowd is merely due to the heat. By the start of NZ's innings I expect the crowd to start pouring in." We ahall see... the official attendance is 40,138 (although 40,000 are believed to be complimentary...!)

And I wish results are opposite in this match.
ENG: 12-0 after 2 overs
ENG: 12-0 after two overs.
I left Buttler out today, I've got more confidence in Conway. Buttler will get his chance in some other game.
John M: "are we allowed to whinge about Malan's strike rate yet and claim we'd be better off with Jason Roy...?"
Not yet... he has a proven ability to catch up after a measured start, and 50 overs is a long time in the modern game...
Rhys: "For all the talk of "one man and his dog attend county cricket", I genuinely saw bigger crowds at Surrey vs Northants two weeks ago." And Essex vs Hampshire at Chelmsford...
