Australia VS Netherlands

It's Day 2 of the World Cup warm-ups and Australia take on the Netherlands at the Greenfield international stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Australia lost their 3-match series to India recently, but the good news was the comeback of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell. They have one change to their World Cup squad with Marnus Labuschagne replacing Ashton Agar with the selectors persisting with Travis Head, despite his injury which could rule him out of the first half of the tournament. On the other hand, Netherlands were the first team to arrive in India, and they based themselves in Bengaluru, playing a couple of matches against a strong Karnataka team. Rain abandoned yesterday's game at this venue, and both teams will hope for the weather to stay good.

India VS England

Good wishes to everyone. smiley10

Greetings everyone! With less than one week to go for the mega event, the teams have a wonderful opportunity to try and test different tactics and combinations, thanks to the warm-up round. Hosts and perhaps first in the list of favourites, India, will be in action today. They are up against defending champions England who will be keen to tick all the boxes before the tournament opener against New Zealand. Live pictures show a pumped up Indian squad warming up under bright, sultry conditions in Guwahati.

England is still bad on turning tracks and may struggle to make it to even top 4 forget finals." -- Might have to differ with that assessment. Almost all of their batters have experience of playing on these shores (some are IPL mainstays too when fit). Plus, with this World Cup being held in October-November, which is early season in cricketing terms, the pitches might not spin a lot.

It's time for the toss. Rohit Sharma and Jos Buttler are out in the middle. Rohit gives it a flick. Buttler calls heads, but it comes down as tails. India will bat first. Says, with a smile on his face, that there is no particular reason, apart from the heat, adding he wants his bowlers to stay fresh and not bowl in this heat.

Rohit Sharma: We gonna bat first. No particualr reason, it's very hot out there. Just want to make sure that our bowlers stay fresh and bowl under the lights which is not gonna be so taxing for the bowlers. Because we have been playing lot of cricket off late, so just want to make sure that we are looking after them

India have won the toss and have opted to bat

Toss time: Buttler calls heads and it comes down as tails....

Buttler says it is great to be in India. Today is pretty much about getting some game-time, while maintaining that they might be a little lower on intensity than usual, because of all the travel. All about getting prepared for the opening game against New Zealand, and reckons it is about getting used to the conditions and the heat.
