Varun Dhawan is the son of the Indian film director David Dhawan.

Even though he was a director s son, he s a self made actor who went for acting classes and took dance training under Shamak Dawar.

Dhawan plays roles that are quirky, emotional, grey and comical characters with aplomb, proving his versatility as an actor.
