Cilmate Change: to be or not to be
Gushing alacrity of evergreen streams,
It jumps from the mountains top; ends its life,
To reproduce laughter, resource, goosebumps for mankind.
Snowflakes submerge in the radiation,
From Himadri, Himachal and Shivalik,
For Genesis of perennial waters for you and me.
Ecosystems of innumerable energy, food, disposition, pool together to feed your existence.
Plants yield fruits, trees go barren, fruits and blossom bequeath fugitive for our well-being.
You breathe into my nostril, I am alive,
Can I swallow fumes of my beloved industries and my luxury vehicle instead?
Soil; you are the route to my life,
Yet, I uprooted your children(trees),
Eroded, degraded your body,
I am shrieked and shriveled by landfills and tremors,
No stability, succulent buoyancy deprived.
I interrupted with your organic house of green,
What less did I do burnt coal, fossil fuels brimming above horizons, my self-centered life!
I depleted water table, extinguished ground water, minerals mining it is, I overconsumed, precisely exploited and raped my mother nature, my Earth.
Today, my body is penetrated deep with sores,
The scorching heat, the people who reckon science says will evaporate me,
They claim the sea level and water from glaciers melting will submerge me, enter into my land, and vanquish mankind.
My eyes perpetually witnesses species Extinction and forest fires, earthquakes, flood, famines, drought, food insecurity, pillage, ravage, pestilence, devouring and death as accelerating prerogative of life.
Climate change as they claim, will ransack my planet, my existence.
What I do, obliterate the planet with more venomous agents,
I am urged to replenish resources, replace green and renewable with ozone-depleting ones,
World leaders who succumb nations with power of nuclear weapons, stand in solidarity with goals to conserve my environment.
Will the targets set, materialize and bestow to life, international and national interest, Sire! plummet without individual concern and effort.
I love my life, my planet, my environment, I solemnly swear to nourish climate, my mother nature with renewed thoughts and rejuvenated actions.
