Tbh, I felt the concept of macarons could've been elevated if a tinge of Indian flavors were present. Maybe a macaroon with haldi, kesar, or chai or something to have an Indian touch (so much potential to explore the desi flavors in a macaron) so slightly felt bored that either food coloring or some fruit zest is being used like thoda to desi wala vibe aaye. But I do like some of the concepts
Frankly speaking, was eyeing Shanta's dessert due to red pepper and coffee combo + the blue coloring on the side of the cake (dunno but the blue/teal coloring is just so eye appealing to me in general😆). Swarna's macarons were looking interesting from a color stand point (interesting lavender coloring) but cake icing wasn't looking good. Aruna's inner cake layering was horrendous + she was licking her fingers and using the same fingers to add the blue dots (gross 🤢 🤮 ). Sachin's cake had interesting pinkish- purple icing.
Taste-
Shanta- nice plating. That teal blue color is so eye-catchy. 🤩 Kiwi and orange were paired with orange + she had red pepper taste also. Seemed that the red chilli overpowered in terms of taste.
Swarna- I do like the lavender coloring (berry compote) but it wasn't the best dish to be honest since the icing had an unclean finish to it + cake was bit dented. Somehow, concept was bit too OTT. Macarons weren't that bad-looking.
Sachin- pretty cool cake with the pinkish-purple coloring ka ombré effect. Definitely, pretty good cake for sure. Macaroons were nice-looking with the pink peppercorns.
Aruna- the icing was off (like a piece of wall is tearing apart lol 😂 ) and she used the same hands where she was caught licking her fingers and then used the same hands to add the blue dots onto her cake. Macarons weren't looking good. Too much orange first of all. No variety of flavor. 🤦♀️ Ginger- flavoring seemed to impress the judges lol but I felt bored since it was all orange orange 🍊 🍊 . 😂
