Dasun Shanaka: "It's the first game and we would like to have a look at the wicket [before batting]. The boys are very confident and know their roles. We have the same combinations as the Asia Cup. Unfortunately Dilshan Madushanka got injured in the last practice session. Dushmantha Chameera and Pramod Madushan are in the side."

Gerhard Erasmus: Both captains would have liked to bowl first. The unknown factor of exactly how the wicket will play and a bit of over head conditions. It's three games - three games of your life, you need to be on top from the start. If we can start well with the bat, put some pressure on them, that'll go a long way into making it a very tight game. These conditions suit our bowling attack. It's a little bit slower and something in the air. In the warm-up game, our bowlers ave hit the ground running and hopefully we can emulate that.

India dnt want to play qualifying match

8 teams were already qualified for Supe12 and India is one of them.  They don't need to play qualifiers.

Cheers..

Look of the pitch: Sun is out, hopefully we get two full games today. 57m square and the straight boundaries are bigger. Credit to the ground staff considering the amount of rain we have had. These are drop-in pitches. This soil is from around the Gabba, so we expect bounce. It is firm. Bit of grass cover for lateral movement. Maybe 160, although the groundsmen want 180+. Hitting square is going to be the game in the game today - opine Brian Murgatroyd and Dirk Nannes.

David Wiese: Last year was a fantastic experience for us. To be able to qualify for the Super 12 stage was just amazing. We are back here again, we got to do it all over again. We've had 12 months to reflect on what we did last year. This time people aren't going to take us lightly like they did, so that adds a little bit of pressure on us. We've worked hard. Hopefully we can be successful again. We can compete in the international stage. Once you start playing against the bigger teams, that changes your mindset to being a world-class side. We had an opportunity to play against Zimbabwe and we were fortunate enough to get a positive result out of that. We are excited to be here. I have been playing different tournaments, you get exposure to different conditions and you get to play with different players and coaches.
