According to Pinkvilla and other box office sites, The film is heading towards a final total around the Rs. 85 crore nett mark in India. Which makes it one of the biggest flops of the last two decade. This is probably the first ever universally praised film to flop badly. So whats the major reason for it?

From what I hear, it was a scene to scene copy of the OG. The original is available online for free.

Might have worked pre pandemic.

I have heard the movie is very well made and Hrithik is awesome in it and I am a Hrithik fan but I have decided to wait for OTT release as I have seen the original. There is no reason or curiosity in me to spend 2 K to go to theatre and watch it I would watch it at home

I am sure many have decided like me so the movie didn’t do well in theatres

Bollywood must stop making remakes or if it does release straight on OTT

You have heard wrong. The movie is only good in parts and Hrithik doesn't suit his role at all. His acting is somewhat inspired by Amitabh Bachchan and it's all really unoriginal.

Hrithik was good in parts and could not pull off the rustic role consistently.

Saif and Radhika had no chemistry and for almost the first hour, it was boring.

No mass songs.

The original was loved in the south and many had already watched it in the pandemic.

You remake an original, it should atleast have something edgy or different

The original budget was 10 crores and this was 175 crores.

Inflated budget

Releasing with PS1 and Kantara which have become massive

Hrithink needs to start profit sharing. 175cr budget for a movie like this is atrocious.

Because it's very concerning that the budget is this inflated. What is the justification?

Worldwide gross will be 140 crore ... so its not a disaster ( I am following the Brahmastra logic here ) .

If Vikram Vedha is a Flop, so is Brahmastra ...
