“Not changing my mind”☺️( Hero ki entry)

“You married into a wealthy family, WHY do you need more money”

“YOU are not even married WHY do YOU need 5 or 10 crores” Gaurav was merciless

“I cut short my studies”

“You had so much time to apply go over and fund it yourself, tujhe party karna tha Singapore mein”

“Why? Only you can ask Papa to pay for a Norwegian cruise”

“Hamari 5th anniversary pe Papa ne khud arrange kiya”

“Papa did not know what cruise was leave alone Norwegian”

“Tum dono bas karo” Nidhi was angry

“Ma main India mein baithi hoon, kisi ki life kharab nahi hui BAS MERI” Taruni began to cry

Gaurav was stunned

Nidhi was shook too

Taruni went into her room and shut the door

“Ma aap ko pata hai Papa ne kya kara aapki savings ka?”

“I want to wait a couple months beta”

“Jee Ma, Jee Jee” he mumbled

Aparna was going to chew him up and spit him out

“Tushar Bhayya se baat hui?” Gaurav fished

“Nahi” Nidhi got busy tidying the house, it was the evening after all the guests had left

“Pallavi Bhabhi ne kaha aapko yahi rehna padega, Sahil Aseem ke exams hain aur usko business travel hai”

Gaurav gently told his Mom she could not go to Hyderabad for a visit

“Agar nahi bhi hota exams I wouldn’t have visited” she smiled and went out to grab dry clothes from the terrace

Gaurav wanted to know if the house was being sold too

Lots of questions….

Taruni wept and sat up and texted Shiv

“Do you want to meet?”

“Why?” “Did you change your mind? Do you no longer want a open relationship?”

She had told him last night they should hook up but not get serious

“You can do what you want”

“I don’t know what I am doing with you”

“I can tell you” she giggled coyly

“U are using me man”

“I am not forcing you”

“No, but you are using me”

“OH SH—” Taruni hung up on the call and ran up to the terrace

“I am sooooooooooooo sorry Ma I am an idiot HOW could I forget the greatest loss is for YOU”

Taruni looked genuinely ashamed

“Koi baat nahi” Nidhi was tearful

Taruni was ashamed the rest of the evening

She realized she was too self absorbed at times and didn’t really pay any attention to even her own mother

She leaned on the rail and watched her fold laundry meticulously

Taruni pulled a couple sheets down and folded

“Ma main aur aap yahi rehte hain na?” she begged

Nidhi looked at her meaningfully

“No not because I want to stay out late and hang with Shiv” she said softly

“sabko pata hai ab to… u cant hide beta” Ma mumbled

“Tushar bhai already itna kar chuke hai”

“Exactly I owe Pallavi beta… I have to care for Sahil and Aseem”

Mother and daughter folded clothes quietly

Taruni did not eat dinner just curled up on her bed and cried to sleep

The loss of a parent coupled with the inability to watch her dream of studying in the US come crashing down was just a lot

She concluded Ma had lost the most and she came in at a close second

She got up to go to the office room and found the keys to Bhushan Books

She bend down to smell it

It smelled like her Papa, marigold and his aftershave

He went to the temple every morning before opening the store

She cursed herself for not listening to the mundane stories he told about those rare books he sold to collectors

She bend down and smelled it again, picked it up from the drawer and clutched it in her palm

Stood up teary eyed and walked over to the window to stare at the 5 AM skies

Sniffling, she clenched her jaw… “I am not changing my mind” she said out loud… about going to Michigan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pradyut Munjal took the elevator down to the 18th floor of Iris a tall business building in Sector 100 in Gurgaon
“I can literally hear the windows vibrate” he turned to the construction Manager Pulkit Mohan, as they walked the gleaming 18th floor, empty unoccupied but luxurious..
“I don’t think so”
“I don’t buy that” Pradyut walked to the window
“Why don’t you walk” he urged Pulkit
Pulkit walked carefully
He knew he was wrong
After 15 seconds Pradyut brought the phone video to him
“Play it”
“I will have someone look at it
“We sold it on the day we laid foundation” he was irritated
“I get it”
“I am sorry you don’t”
Pradyut was upright, honest and ambitious… yes honest… in the world of Delhi builders
“I have a meeting with Dad I will see you in two hours, lets fix”
He took the elevator back up to 22nd floor
Every two floors there was a large wrap around glass covered balcony, 18 was messed up for sure
Gopal Munjal sat in the makeshift yet plush project office typing on his laptop
“So?” he smiled looking at his son
“No it vibrates” he nodded sitting down
“We’ve looked at it 4 times”
“Not the windows I walked by… you did not walk by them”
“Hmm”
“We have to fix it, until we do we hold off on receiving the payments
“Lets talk about it”
“No I already talked to Veer (Chopra) (Married to Pradyut’s sister Praveena)
“Lets get the whole group together, Engineering, Safety, Structural Engineers, the whole project crew” Gopal sighed
“Sure” "Whatever Dad... but “I am not changing my mind” "We dont sign until we fix it"
