Hello everyone! A warm welcome to the Featured FF of the Month Thread!
Nothing beats tucking in with a good story on a cold wintery night. It is always joyous for readers to be immersed in the lives of characters written in the language that the heart understands. To make a reader feel what the character is feeling is the hallmark of a good writer.
Once again this month we meet two such exceptional writers that have created such cherished experiences for the readers with their dextrous craft.
Every month, the Fanfiction Development team picks out two outstanding stories from the Fanfiction section solely on the basis of merit and quality, with utmost importance given to vocabulary, grammar, the flow of narrative, coherency, plot, characterization, and creativity.
The stories will appear under ‘Featured Stories’ of the FF section throughout the month as a token of appreciation for our writers as well as to encourage our readers to read the outstanding works.
So, without further ado, let us announce the featured fictions for November 2021.

A short story chronicling the last few days between Shivaay and Annika as they find themselves on a rocky path of their six months forceful circumstantial marriage, with nothing but distance, resentment and unsaid words between them, until they decide to diverge their path for good.
Meet Areeba
Areeba is an undergraduate student in her twenties. She is a diaspora kid.
She started writing fiction from the age of six, however she didn’t explore fanfictions until much later. She wrote her first fanfiction, a Harry Potter OS, at the age of 12 on fanfic.net. Later she dug deeper into writing longer fiction after being inspired by the Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? fandom and fanfic community.
She joined IF around the end of 2010 looking for online communities on Indian television, and became more active with the airing of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?.
Arnav & Khushi from ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?’ are her favorite couple to write about. She has also written two one-shots on Ishqbaaaz ensemble cast, and a bunch of one-shots on Twinkle & Kunj from Tashan-e-Ishq. With a wave of plagiarists in the early half of the last decade, she has removed a lot of my fictions from IF. However, she is again reposting her older work, slowly.
Areeba loves to read classic novels from the 1800s. However, she also tries to explore stories beyond that era. In the fanfiction genre, she loves reading the sub-genre of Enemies to Lovers and Hurt/Comfort. In fanfiction, she likes to read the ones in which the author seems to understand the characters.
Emily Brontë is her favorite author of all times. Her favorite book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Among the fanfiction writers of IF, she loves the work of RidzMystique, Ghuasia, HeadoverHeels, Incandescent, Princessunara, Naiyka, AngelTeen, SerialJunkie IPKKND fics to name a few. Sadly, many of her favorites are no longer active. Currently, she would like to recommend IPK fanfics by SlytherinInMe and ChoaticMind2021 to anyone who is a diehard IPK fan.
Her decade-long journey on IF has led her to many beautiful people in the platform for which she would always be grateful. She misses IP Redux members and IP Adda peeps everyday like it's still 2012.
Areeba has watched only two shows from beginning to end: Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon season 1, and Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi season 1. Other shows she followed briefly include: Dil Mil Gaye, Navya, Sasural Genda Phool, Tere Liye, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, Ishqbaaaz, Tashan-e-Ishq, and a bunch of Pakistani shows.
When she is not studying, she works. She also enjoys consuming media in any shape or form. Listening to music is very therapeutic for her, especially when she is reading or writing. She loves to hang out with her friends and take super long naps.
Congratulations, Areeba and here is your winning siggy!

Introspect is a two-shot based on the show Ishq Par Zor Nahi, the first part being Ishqi's point of view after the 6-month leap in the show, and the second part being Ahaan's point of view. Both shots explore the internal turmoil of Ishqi and Ahaan as a result of seeing each other again.
Meet Aashi
Aashi’s journey on IF started in the Dil Dostii Dance forum as a silent reader. When she ran out of content to read, or was dissatisfied with the lack of complete content, she wanted to start writing her own. She has been writing since she was 13, but she wrote on IF for the first time when she was 15 or 16 for Dil Dostii Dance. She has been off and on here since then, being more active on other platforms. Writing is a stress buster for her and she tends to write about her own feelings, just to get them out there. She calls it therapeutic. She doesn’t have a specific pairing she writes about, but when she wrote for Dil Dostii Dance, it was Tani and Rey, and for Ishq Par Zor Nahi, it’s Ishqi and Ahaan. She likes to delve into other fandoms as well, like Miss Fisher's, NCIS, Supernatural etc., but she is always evolving as a writer, so sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.
Her favorite genre to write is angst/romance. Sometimes she also delves into comedy, but leans more towards dark humor. Her favorite authors include Agatha Christie, Shakespeare, Daniel Howell, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. In her free time, Aashi likes baking, watching/listening to crime documentaries and reading in general.
Congratulations, Aashi and here is your winning siggy!
Congratulations to Areeba and Aashi once again! We wish them all the best in their future writing journey.
We thank all the Fanfiction Editors and Beta Readers who voted for the stories and helped in the selection process.
We hope that our readers have an amazing time reading these stories at the FF Section.
See you next month with two more fabulous stories!
Happy writing and happy reading!
