Did Abhishek lose Bunty Aur Babli 2 due to Ash's fight with Rani?

‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ has returned with Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan instead of Abhishek Bachchan. The film is set to release on November 19. The trailer of the movie has released and the Bunty who swept audiences off their feet in the 2005 movie does not have a mention at all in the sequel.

When YRF revealed the cast of the sequel, Rani Mukerji announced that though she has signed up for the sequel, Abhishek would not be joining the sets. The official news regarding the cast revealed that Abhishek has been replaced by Saif Ali Khan. Rani Mukerji said that the production team had approached both Abhishek and her, but things did not work out between him and YRF. She added that they will miss him on the set.

Was Abhishek really approached for the sequel or is YRF making it up? Abhishek has no Bollywood movies right now. He is struggling to get good movies so it seems strange that he would give up the opportunity to act in a YRF movie.

Could it be that Abhishek lost the movie because of his wife's fight with Rani? Aishwarya has been publicly bad-mouthing Rani for Chalte Chalte incident since 18 years (even though Aishwarya herself stole roles from many actresses).

Is replacing Abhishek in Bunty Aur Babli sequel Rani's way of getting back at Aishwarya for years of public smearing?

Abhishek doesn’t give two hoots 😆 He is a businessman now and will only do movies sporadically. The YRF banner or lack thereof won’t interest him at this point in his life.

He is not a newbie with dreams of super stardom, but a person who has diversified his interest into other fields and is successful there.

Abhishek has made peace with the fact that he isn’t and won’t be a movie legend like his Dad. It’s not a bad thing at all. In fact, it’s admirable that he is confident about who he is.

"Aishwarya has been publicly badmouthing Rani for the past 18 years ". That never happened .

Didn’t they have a chakkar of their own? These Gen-Xers can’t seem to stand their exes unlike the millennials who just move on, which is how it should be

Abhishek rejected the film because his role wasn't big enough. Unlike giving equal importance to all the actors in the film, Rani has taken the center stage this time making others look like sidekicks.

Rani fans won't have a problem with this but everyone ain't a Rani fan.

Lol I don't know why everyone keeps on saying this. Just because he does multistarrers it doesn't mean he should be okay with whatever role he's offered.

Wasn't Abhishek the lead hero of Bunty Aur Babli with both Rani and him having equal roles?

Then why should he be okay with Rani's role being increased and his role being decreased in the sequel? Rani is not a Superstar like the Khans either that the script was written like that for box office reasons.

Isn't Abhishek the one who lost his cool when asked by a reporter why he only takes supporting roles and not lead ones? Sounds like playing Rani's sidekick would be right up his alley.

He'd probably have taken it if he hadn't been the co lead in the original - and one of his rare hits as a lead. This is obviously more of a step down. He wound up filming The Big Bull around the same time. In hindsight not a good choice.
