Abhishek is dumb though. Who buys a 40 crore apt for investment purposes? With inflation, taxes and brokers fees, he would have lost money on this. 

For investment purposes, you’re better off buying a lot of cheap 1 crore apts or even less and then letting them appreciate in value. 

Note other recent purchases in the same building were in the mid 50s.  He just chose the wrong time to sell.  Now is the time to be buying not selling real estate.  Maybe he needed the money elsewhere and couldn't wait it out.

Maybe Corona and lockdown must have had an impact on the property being a liability more than an asset.
