The entertainment industry came to an unexpected grinding halt in the year 2020, with the pandemic scare striking the Nation in a big way. The first lockdown which came all of a sudden put all kinds of shoots on hold. An industry that used to function day in and day out saw stagnancy for few months.
Well, the effect of the Covid-19 still continues to trouble the Nation. We are just coming out of the second lockdown that got imposed after there was a second wave of the pandemic spread. There is a saying that, there is always a calm before a storm!! So here we go, the television industry is all set to boom again with many new launches lined up for a launch this year.
The year 2021 started with many projects getting launched on TV. However, after March, there has been silence. But now, the wait is over!! The launches will happen at a steady pace and we at IWMBuzz.com give you a bird’s eye view of the new shows that will hit the Hindi TV industry in the year 2021.
Star Plus has seen the biggest positive coming out of the post-pandemic phase, with the launch of Anupamaa. The show has held on to its supremacy in the numbers table and has grown from strength to strength. Star Plus has a big-budget mythological presentation in Vidrohi all set for launch. The show will have Sharad Malhotra playing the lead. It is produced by Gatha Productions.
Maa, the fiction show based on dance will see the amazing combination of Gul Khan and Nilanjana Purkayasstha (makers of Kulfi Kumar Bajewala) gearing up for center stage action. The show will see Paridhi Sharma, Monika Khanna, Himanshoo Malhotra in lead roles.
On Colors, the biggest launch of all will be Balika Vadhu’s new season produced by Sphere Origins. The cult concept will be back to tell a tale around child marriage.
Another big mythological presentation that will come up on Colors will be the tale of Parashuram. However, this show is still in its nascent phase.
Colors has engaging concepts coming from Optimystix, Shoonya Square and Peninsula Pictures.
Zee TV which is due for a revamp of sorts, will see the launch on Bhagyalakshmi starring Rohit Suchanti and Aishwarya Khare.
Zee TV has a show coming from Shashi Sumeet Productions, a show from Anil Jha, a Kolkata-based show produced by Tent Cinema titled Rishton Ka Manjha. There is also a big-budget mythological venture coming from Sobo Films. Also, a crime-based show from LSD Films is in the pipeline.
Sony TV will see a unique medical concept, Dhadkan spreading its wings soon. It is produced by Studio Next and Nilanjana Purkayasstha. There is a show slated to come from Choti Sarrdaarni makers, Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment.
Star Bharat is getting into the prequel zone. It will see the prequel to Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, in Tera Mera Saath Rahe. Writer of Saathiya Ved Raj is producing the show under his banner Shoonya Square. Also, Swastik Productions, will come up with a prequel to RadhaKrishn titled Haathi Ghoda Palkhi Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki.
&TV has the Shrenu Parikh and Akshay Mhatre show Ghar Ek Mandir – Kripa Agrasen Maharaj Ki, and Shivpuran the mythological show lined up. Both the show will be a Zee Studios presentation.
SAB TV has a Jay Productions show lined up for launch. Ziddi Dil Maane Na produced by Sunshine Productions will make its way soon. It will be an army-based concept starring Kunal Karan Kapoor, Shaleen Malhotra, Kaveri Priyam, Simple Kaul and others.
Dangal has a good long lineup of shows. Gul Khan, Mrinal Jha, Ved Raj, Shakuntalam Telefilms and Panaroma Entertainment have shows line up.
Azaad the upcoming GEC has two shows coming from Mahesh Pandey. Ved Raj, Raakesh Paswan, Jay Productions, Parth Productions have shows commissioned, on which work is presently happening.
Wow!! This seems to be the lineup to look forward to with respect to fiction shows in the year 2021.
