Is Chennai Express Rohit Shetty's best movie so far?

Frankly, I enjoyed Chennai Express more than any of the movies in his cop universe or any of his other trademark movies. Chennai Express was hilarious, situational comedy at its best, with some really good performances. The first half especially was cinematic gold.

SRK and Deepika were both awesome, and the supporting cast was incredible as well.

The best part about Chennai Express was its regional flavour and the references to DDLJ.

Anupama Chopra describes it as: "mishmash of cheesy humour, half-hearted romance, half-baked emotion and head-banging action."

But I disagree with her for once. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Thoughts???

Chennai express is a cringe fest for me although there were parts I really enjoyed. My favorite Rohit movie is Singham. I also liked Bol Bachchan but I know that movie is trash ðŸ˜†

Golmaal (2006) is his best work till date. Comedy in that film worked because of it's timing and unpredictable punchlines.

After that he just went slapstick and OTT in making comedy films, which is nothing new in Bollywood.

Priyadarshan did slapstick much better, so Shetty's humour looked stale in comparison. He also tried to make his films masala by adding action sequences in comedy films, so it was neither here or there.

Good God !!!!!!

Why would you ever pay attention to Anupama Chopra?

As for Rohit Shetty I cannot be bothered to analyze his movies

He makes forgettable movies

And it seems like he is ok with that

His movies are good time pass

But I am never going to analyze them
