Fardeen Khan's character in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya

Jai in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya to me came across as an incorrigible flirt and led Ria on mercilessly. He had no foresight, no ethics, and never divulged his marital status.

I'm not saying he deserved the madness and the obsession of Ria, but to me, I did not have any sympathy for his character.

Do you think he was a selfish jerk, and handled the situation badly?

Jai and the whole film was based on the Hollywood movie Fatal Attraction where Michael Douglas's character has an extra marital affair with Glenn Close and then ghosts her- triggering her into a rage. So in that context her reactions made sense.

In this film- Jai's ghosting could be seen as even more heartless!

He should have immediately told ria he was a married man..SIMPLE ! He kept complimenting her and acted like a single guy around her.

Lmaooo yes!!! I always say this!!!! Literally any girl would go insane if a dude as charming and endearing as Jai led her on the way he did!!!

Don't know why this reminds me of Hrithik and Kangana.

BW lacks proper characterisation, they can only show one as helpless victim.

Yes it was poorly sketched to show that Ria falls for him while he is an innocent guy.

Jai took Ria's pictures without permission and even published them which is an offence! So actually Jai should have been jailed for this but Ria being mentally ill falls in love with him and initally he did enjoy the attention till his wife Geeta warns him

I thought the same watching Fatal Attraction (the HW film it's based on)...

In fact that one was even worse because the hero had a full blown affair with the vamp (whilst being very much married with a kid to boot 🤢), unlike in PTKK where it seemed almost completely one-sided form Urmila's character
