I totally agree. Would love to see some positive Female characters. Maybe some strong Female who guides Bon like how Gandhi guided her. I would have even enjoyed seeing Bondita actually going to school. ARC working on Public toilets or trying to create awareness over things like Sati, widow custom, etc rather than just a few minutes of him giving a lecture about how people are wrong. There is so much they can show than these textbook ITV villains.

Tired of seeing people turning evil(not bad but evil) at the drop of hat. Mini, turned from hurt lover to manipulative selfish person to pure evil who tried to kill Bon with such ease. Then Saurav's Father who was always loyal to RC's tried to kill ARC with help of his wife. Is he the same man who asked his own son Sourav to get out of his house for making his Maalik angry? Now Sampoorna who was though a little selfish always loved Bon, is suddenly trying to kick her out of the house to rule RC Mansion. She was never the money craving type unlike her mother and today Money is all that matters to her?? This is so far fetched. I can understand her anger on Trilochan but not how she is conspiring with her mom. I really want this track to end soon. I hate to watch Bon fighting her sister who she adores, for whom she even got kicked out of the house. I don't want Sampoorna to turn Evil. Bon will be heartbroken knowing her betrayal and I hate to see that little soul who loves her sis unconditionally get hurt. And Mami, I have no idea to date as to why she was not severely punished for selling off Bon to HM. That was not a mistake, that was a crime. I am surprised at how they brushed it off as if it is a minor misdemeanor for crying out loud. She was never the type to change her character overnight and her family should know that. Bon saved her daughter from Sati and this lady wants to kick her out of her own house. Heights of EVIL.

Will stop here. I went overboard and wrote too much. And I also agree that Bon should remain simple, realistic, and relatable. Not superwomen who can do anything.

I am not complaining about the current track because Ani must learn that women are not always victim sometime pretend as victim for personal gains. Though the concept is good but what about women who are actually victims.

I would have been more happy if Sampoo wanted to be independent she could be a music teacher after learning or if she would have married to get a partner not for the greed of being the maalkin of RC Haweli, not for the greed of money, not for the the gold, not for the revenge which is probably the reason of her marrying Binoy.

After Kaka's harsh words towards widow, I thought that Sampoo may be the one who will prove him and society that their thought towards widows are wrong but alas she perhaps proved it somewhat right 🥱

But why hyping such characters who are acting as victim of society to get what they want, please show us the actual victims, actual status of woman in that era.

First Mini was acting applying gobar on face showing she is victim and now Sampoorna made a whole story of torture which never happened 😕I am really disappointed with such things. Can we get the actual victim’s trauma and all and our Rudhita helping those women?😒

And please show some characters which are not ehsaanfaramosh like Sampoo and HM girls betraying their savior, taking advantage of the innocence of a kind hearted person 🤔

As far as I read in the literatures of that era there were so many issues faced by woman in that era better show us that than spiking drinks, a woman blackmailing a man in that era (if it’s the case I am not judging track it’s just a guess)

Can we please get characters like Rasiya and Sumati who inspite of all the tortures by society still have self respect and good morals.

And one more request can we get characters like Mrinal and Kalyani of R.N. Tagore’s stories.

I feel pity for Saurabh 😭

P.S.: If anyone is hurt with my post I do apologize. This post isn’t meant to hurt anyone, it’s my request to makers if they stalk IF I am really fed up with such characters in the show that too in that era.

People may agree or disagree but I am not here to argue I am free to express my opinion and it's just my pov and my request to them as as a viewer and I already apologized if anyone is hurt with my words.

Exactly. Why do all women, except Bondita have to turn. Why do most Indian Television shows need to emphasize on villains and turn most characters evil?

@red True. Initially when they killed Saurabh's character I thought they wanted to take the widow atrocities and widow remarriage track. I kept wondering why they didn't use Sumati for the track. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine they would want to incorporate Saas-Bahu drama by killing Saurabh. Why destroy the uniqueness of the show in the race for TRPs?

@green Exactly. By taking the current route they have proved Kaka's words right that a widow will be an apshaguni to the home. They could have easily shown Sampoorna helping Bondita catch Munshi and Fake Shubra and helping save Anirudh's life. That way they could have shown Kaka's view about widows changing. They could have brought a music teacher and started a parallel widow remarriage track. But NO. They had to do this. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a demand of the channel to introduce the Saas-Bahu drama. From experience I have seen them destroy a number of good shows🤢

Yes please. Rasiya was a wonderfully written character. I loved that character. Sumati is a wonderful character too with so much scope. But unfortunately they never utilised Sumati properly, same as they never utilised Saurabh properly in my opinion, except as Nawab-e-Tulsania.

And one more request can we get characters like Mrinal and Kalyani of R.N. Tagore’s stories.

Hmmmm.....I have never heard of these characters. Maybe I should read about them.

Mrinal from Streer Patra [ The Wife's Letter]--

Tagore’s stories were set in late 19th and early 20th century pre-partitioned Bengal, in a politically volatile period in Kolkata, where the characters pour in from their diverse cultural, rural, and social backgrounds to encourage the new upcoming world. Unconventionally, Tagore portrayed his women as chance-takers who defiantly resisted social and familial norms in a conservative Indian society. Tagore’s women were progressive and provided a fresh perspective to the minds already filled with traditional Indian values.

I consider the great writers Sarath and Tagore as visionaries who were keen on the upliftment of women to take the society towards the future with their wisdom.

Mrinal is about a progressive woman who leaves the house of her regressive husband and in-laws. The story is told in an epistolary form where Mrinal writes a letter to her husband expressing the many ways in which she felt suffocatingly subordinated. Unlike Mrinal’s elder sister-in-law who unquestionably accepts the patriarchal system and the poor orphaned Bindu who commits suicide, Mrinal’s education does not allow her to do the same!!

After a chain of tragic events, Mrinal realizes that women have no freedom in an oppressive society where women are considered inferior. Mrinal says, “I am not just the youngest daughter in law of your house. I am me… It took me 15 years to understand the position of women in your house and your society… I want to breathe freely now”.

Kalyani whose father breaks off her marriage on the wedding day due to the groom’s (Anupam) uncle’s greed. She is a fearless and independent woman who speaks out against mistreatment by the British, with her political awareness which was rare in those days!

Anupam realised his mistake after the wedding cancellation and is ridden with guilt upon realizing he did not speak up against his uncle’s poor behavior. He asks for Kalyani’s hand in marriage once again, however she rejects the proposal and explains, “After the wedding was broken I found the real goal in my life. I found a new direction. I am responsible for hundreds of orphan girls. The smiles on their faces have given a new meaning to my life. I am complete now. Now there is no space for any relationship in my life. And neither do I require it.” Wah, what a discourse! When our serial makers realises their social responsibility like these inventive and intuitive visionaries???

Tagore and Sarath's women have one thing in common which is their rejection of the subordinate status of women in Bengali society!! Tagore’s portrayal of women is very intricate and detailed, he did not simply portray them as a damsel in distress, the angel of the house, or as an evil temptress. His women were layered and presented a more nuanced personality.

Since a long, I am longing to see such strong women-oriented serials .

Thank you for sharing this information. I will try to read more about these characters. Maybe I will try to read some of Tagore's translated works. I love to read about strong characters specially strong women. That's why I was so attracted to the characters of Bondita and Anirudh.

Agree Madhuri, the portrayal of women in TV like typical vamps is kinda degradation of woman and yes these things are impacting the society.

Whatever happened with Sampoorna is wrong but whatever she's doing is also wrong and here it seems badi maalkin status and power seems more important to her.

What to say about Mami the characters which I hate to the core cheap disgusting are decent words for her. What she did with Bon is not forgivable, never ever, she was trying to make her life a living hell. And the most irritating thing is Ani behaving sweetly with them I can understand that relationship and respect thing but why welcoming happily. Seriously I can't believe how they brushed it off so easily .

Exactly I can't believe a character like Saurabh was killed just for this typical revenge, power, jealousy and saas bahu drama.

They could make Sampoo a rebel rather than evil, could make her a independent music teacher after learning and many more options were there as you said.

Exactly Rasiya was the most beautiful and powerful character of BB for me and Sumati is also a good character and yes Saurabh was a nice character if they would utilise properly and yes they are not utilising Sumati's character with so much scope.

You should read about then you'll get to know the potential of these characters. These characters are beautifully written I am sure you'll love the characters.
