PART 01
1 Month.
That's how long Bonditha had left to college to say Anirudh missed her would be an understatement in all honesty he was close to losing his mind.
Anirudh closed his eyes shut hoping to catch a glimpse of her recalling the moments they spent together, a smile adorned his lips as he remembered how her nose flared and eyes widened in anger when he used to jest with her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Patu babu..." Bonditha came running to the room excited and literally jumped on to him engulfing him in a bone crushing hug.
"Are you trying to kill your husband Bondi" he asked laughing.
"Shush... Guess what?"
"Hawwww.... Are you shushing your husband?"
"Yeah and what is barrister Anirudh going to do about it" she challenged.
"She calls her husband by his name. Oh the days I have come to witness" he continued to tease her.
"Has anyone told you how dramatic you are?" she chuckled hitting her forehead with his.
"Soon tell me the good news before I fracture a bone or two carrying your heavy self"
"Did you just call me fat?" Bonditha looked annoyed untangling herself from Anirudh
"No I didn't" he dragged the joke.
"Well you did, why don't you go find some stick figure and get married to her ah?" she asked
"Since you've given me permission I'll go find myself a match then" he said looking serious suppressing a laugh.
"OK whatever I have work to do. Bye" she said walking out of the room annoyed.
Anirudh thought by the evening she'll be back to herself but what he didn't expect was for her to still be mad at her for a small joke he played.
To resolve this problem he executed what he beloved was the best idea.
"Tring Tring..." Anirudh mimicked the sound offering one end of their special phone to Bonditha.
"Hello can I speak to my princess?" Anirudh tried to get a reaction.
"I'm sorry I think you've tried the wrong number"
"Is my Bonditha angry with me?"
"hmm" she muttered.
"Doesn't she even want to look at her pati babu"
Bonditha remained silent.
"Do you know something I sometimes think I'm the luckiest husband in the world"
"Yeah and why is that?"
"Because I have the most hard working, determined, intelligent and beautiful wife in the world"
"Then why does he want another woman in his life"
"You know he was joking right?"
"I don't care even if he was. Why did he think I'll ever want to share him with anyone?"
"Mishti.." He whispered leaving the phone aside he sat next to her and in one swift motion pulled her on to his lap.
"Sounds like someone is jealous" he tried to get a reaction.
"Look who's talking" Bonditha sassed.
"What are you talking about?"
"Pati babu I think eveyone in the village knows your not so subtle 'Stay 2m away from my wife' look"
"Yeha whatever. I just remembered what was it that you wanted to tell me before"
"Oh yeah I got my university offer letter" She smiled while Anirudh dropped a light kiss on het forehead.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Choti Malik we've come home" the driver announced.
Anirudh walked into the house to hear the best message he's heard in a while.
"You've got a letter from Bonditha" his father let him know.
"Thank you" Anirudh smiled brightly for the first time since a month and ran to his room in a jiffy to read her letter.
To my most favourite husband,
How are you doing pati babu? Do you miss me because I've been missing you Alot.
I miss telling you how my day went.
I miss your hugs and kisses.
I miss knowing you're around.
Please come to see me.
Anirudh traced the tear smudged ink on the paper a heavy feeling in his heart taking over.
He continued to read the letter
Sir, I am Mayura I found this unsent letter on Bonditha's desk and thought it was important to send it to you. She misses you dearly.
The letter ended in an abrupt note.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonditha missed Anirudh.
It was in this month of separation when she realized how much he was a part of her life which was probably why she's forgotten how to live without him.
She missed the way he'd just take one look at her and know exactly how she was feeling
She missed how she used to curl onto him and talk about a bad day
She missed how he'd lose his mind when she was in the slightest discomfort or hurt
She even missed how he'd get jealous and possessive about her if he felt guys were trying to get too friendly with her.
"Hey..." Arjun's voice snapped her back to reality.
Who was Arjun you might ask,
Well he was the self appointed Romeo and the self acclaimed heartbreaker of the college.
"Oh god help me get rid of this pest before I beat him up" Bonditha whispered a small prayer she never understood how he'd keep pestering her no matter how many times she stressed on the fact she was married.
"what do you want?" She asked disinterest clear in her tone, Bonditha looked around trying to spot someone she knew so she could slide away from this situation.
Her eyes widened as she spotted a familiar figure standing a few meters away.
Bonditha blinked her eyes a few times to confirm that what she saw wasn't a fragment of her imagination.
"Arjun, do you see that gentleman" Bonditha asked pointing at the familiar figure.
"umm... yes?" He answered confused.
Eyes met.
He was real.
He was here.
First she walked in a daze,
her steps got faster
and before she knew she was running towards him in full speed and pulled him into a bone crushing hug.
"You came..." Bonditha panted.
"I heard that my favorite wife was missing me" Anirudh joked.
"More than you could ever imagine" Bonditha snuggled on to him more closer taking in his scent.
Anirudh just smiled dropping a kiss on to her head.
Bonditha suddenly broke the hug pushing Anirudh away.
"I'm angry with you" Bonditha pouted annoyed.
"And what would the reason be?" Anirudh questioned intervening his fingers with hers.
"Because you lied to me, you told me I won't miss you, you told me that I'd enjoy my time alone" She complained.
"Meri Jaann... look at me, it is important that you learn to live without me. I'm not always going to be around..."
"Why? Do you remember on my 18th birthday you promised you'll always be with me and you broke that promise"
"Natanuki" he laughed.
"Give me a second I will get my bag and let's go home" Bonditha suggested.
"Sure thing jaan" he smiled.
Bonditha picked up her bag in a flash and while running back to Anirudh she overheard a conversation
"Do you see that guy over there?" a senior asked her friend.
"Do you think he's single?" they discussed.
"How dare they" Bonditha whisper yelled in annoyance.
"Let's go talk to him" they walked towards Anirudh leaving a fuming Bonditha behind.
