Set during the end of the Goryeo period to the early Joseon period. Two friends aim their swords against one another due to differences in opinion about "my country."

Seo Hwi (Yang Se-Jong) is a warrior. His father Seo Geom is a famous commander. Seo Hwi does not compromise when it comes to injustice. His life devolves into a hellish existence, but he still holds a smile.

Nam Sun-Ho (Woo Do-Hwan) is smart and a talented figure. Because his mother was born into the lowest class, Nam Sun-Ho is looked down upon by other people. He wants to pass the military service examination. Due to a corruption scandal involving his father, Nam Sun-Ho loses his dream. Making things worse, he comes into conflict with Seo Hwi over a misunderstanding.

First two episodes were damn good!!! What powerful acting by Yang Se-Jong and Woo Do-Hwan!!! 👏

One too many Histo shows .... 😥😥

I swear that was exactly what I was thinking when I saw its trailer.

Just saw the trailer ... guess not for me .. it looks more like a "serious, revenge, melodramatic" saga!

I have realized that I don't enjoy such Histo dramas .... reason why I skipped "Mr. Sunshine" ..... I like histo comedy rom-com types.. 3 of those which I am loving atm!

There's 1) Flower Crew 2) Tale of Nokdu .... Both of them I am liking so far along with Rookie Historian!

Why came to conclusion of comedy? Did you read the synopsis? Its two friends turning into enemy story..

This drama is based on real events of Korea's transition of Goryeo dynasty and the beginning of the Joseon dynasty..

Yes..I loved the 1st two episodes..Its currently one of my favorite ongoing kdrama with solid story and acting!!!

I love historical dramas..Usually cdramas does it brilliantly..But few of kdramas do well too..Mr.Sunshine for example..I absolutely loved it!!!
