It takes a lot of effort and firm determination to get back on track particularly in the glamour arena. When celebrities lose their star status, several groups tend to write them off easily and that has been the order of the day in Indian cinema. Very rare that we come across certain individuals who manage to keep their past failures behind and sweat it out to regain what is lost. Take the case of popular South actress Nyra Banerjee for instance. Despite having all the qualities of what it takes to be a big commercial heroine, Nyra couldn’t make it into the top league of Telugu cinema owing to unknown reasons. However, she strived through the path despite facing hardships and obstacles.

Starting off her showbiz tenure in Bollywood, the hot bombshell managed to create quite an impression in Telugu cinema with an author-backed role in Vamsy’s ‘Saradaga Kasepu’. Originally known as Madhuurima down south, she changed her screen name to Nyra and made her return to Hindi cinema with Sunny Leone’s ‘One Night Stand’. As the gorgeous beauty is celebrating her 32nd birthday, check out some of her hot-as-hell postures.

Hailing from a Bengali household, Nyra Banerjee was born and brought up in the financial capital city of Mumbai. During her childhood itself, she learnt Hindustani classical music, Ghazal and the major form of Indian dance, Kathak. While crooning children songs in a recording studio, she was spotted by noted director G. V. Iyer who roped in the teenage actress for the role of Sita in the Hindi television serial Kadambari. However, the director died and the project failed to materialise. During her plus one, Nyra acted in a string of TV serials including the one by K. Balachander and anchored in a TV channel as a part-time job.

Nyra Banerjee made her celluloid debut by playing a cameo in the 2009 Bollywood film ‘Toss’. She continued her journey by portraying the female lead in three consecutive Telugu films titled ‘Aa Okkadu’, ‘Saradaga Kasepu’ and ‘Mouna Ragam’. Especially, her matured performance and eye-popping glamour in the Vamsy directorial created a striking impact on the silver screen which eventually aided in generating good footfalls in the theaters. Before attempting a Hindi project, she played a cameo in Ram Charan’s ‘Orange’.

In 2012, acclaimed director Priyadarshan roped in Nyra to play the heroine’s role in the comedy-drama ‘Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal’. Sadly, the film bombed at the box-office and all her efforts went in vain. At this crucial juncture, Nyra started to essay supporting roles in movies like ‘Shadow’, ‘Kotha Janta’ and Junior NTR’s ‘Temper’. She also moved her belly for a special number in Naga Chaitanya’s 2015 film ‘Dohchay’ and that’s her last known appearance in Tollywood. Nyra looked ravishing in the peppy number and her alluring moves are a treat to watch.

She even turned into an Assistant Director (AD) for the 2016 biographical sports-drama ‘Azhar’ and worked with noted actors like Emraan Hashmi, Lara Dutta and Kunaal Roy Kapur. After starring as the female lead in the 2017 Kannada film ‘TIger’, she recently essayed an interesting role in Eros Now’s thrilling TV show.

Right from an ethnic saree to a voluptuous bikini, Madhuurima Banerjee certainly knows how to pull off any attire with utmost grace. The blonde beauty is also a hot favourite among top designers to walk down the ramp as she always scores high on fashion meters. Summarising her Telugu career, the talented actress once stated that “Call it luck or destiny, even though my work in most of my films was appreciated, my career in Telugu never really took off.”
