1. Rajveer-Naina Pyar Kyun  Ho Gaya

Naina finds Rajveer standing at a corner, resting his elbow on the side table. She notices how he is looking at the proceedings of Christmas party but is really not enjoying it. She doesn't understand why she gets an urge to reach him. She doesn't have anything important to talk, but this feeling of him drifting away from her, is killing her slowly. She fails to understand why is she feeling so, may be it is just her illusion and he is not exactly ignoring her. But something inside her doesn't let her drift her mind from this issue. He certainly is ignoring her!

The only way to get out of this chaos is by asking him directly. With a determination to ask him; mingled with a lot of nervousness, Naina walks to Captain Rajveer.

Rajveer who had been trying to ignore her this long, could see this situation coming. His heartbeat picks up pace. He realizes that now he has no other way to ignore her.

No! it's not that he is hating the fact that she is here. In fact only he knows how he was trying to keep his emotions under control. How he uptil now refrained himself from reaching her. But deep down he was sure, even if he controls himself, she would reach him by some means. Unable to meet her eyes, while she walks towards him, Rajveer tries to look anywhere but towards her, trying to distract his mind. But how hard he tries, he fails to bring his feet to move to the opposite direction and hence ignore her altogether! But yes he certainly wanted her to stay away from him because he knows the eyes of so many, especially few pairs of devil eyes wouldn't escape from hunting them down the moment they get together and this is exactly what he doesn't want. He wants to keep her safe, away from their eyes and he wants the same for himself.

She ends up reaching him anyhow. Taking a deep breath, he greets her, smiling,

"Cadet Naina Singh, how are you?"

His eyes on their own accord lower, as he utters the words. Of course it is not that it irks Rajveer to look towards Naina. Not at all! Well if asked, he can look at her the whole day long. Then it would rather turn out to be Naina who would lower her eyes every now and then, feeling extremely shy and uncomfortable under his constant gaze.

But at this particular moment, and the tension that's prevailing in KMA because of them, he doesn't want to encourage it by any means. He rather would go to whatever extent needed to calm the on going gossips down, only if everything would have been in his hands!

But how hard might he try, he cannot refrain from accepting the fact that as much as she is enjoying his presence, he is enjoying her presence around him too. He cannot deny that had she chosen to ignore him, it would have hurt him!

"Good evening Sir, I am fine!",

greets Naina, standing next to him, completely oblivious to what her standing near him is doing to his insides!

Rajveer chooses to look straight ahead, a measure to keep an eye on everyone who might be noticing them together. And at the same time it secretly serves his another purpose, he knows that these days, it's getting difficult for him to look towards her and keep his ill mannered thoughts at bay. They rather cloud his mind the moment he rests his eyes on her. Only god knows how he is going to spend the rest of his days in KMA, this way!

"Ahmmm... I am really sorry Sir!"

Her sudden apology drags his attention. He looks towards her for fraction of seconds but as he finds her staring him, he quickly diverts his eyes back in front of him, looking at the procceeding of the party, while enjoying nothing but her presence around himself at this moment.

He does understand why she is apologizing and this makes him to mentally roll his eyes whilst Naina continues with her apology,

"Apko yunhi meri wajah se...",

she trails off, unable to understand how to put her feelings into words.

When will she learn to understand him, without him telling her everything verbally?

"Cadet Singh! Inn.. inn baaton mein kuch nahi rakha!",

he tells her, looking towards her.

His words pierce her heart. This wasn't the reply she was expecting from him! That means he doesn't feel anything about her!

But only he knows how he has controlled the flood of emotions filling his heart while uttering those words. How big a stone he has kept on his heart before uttering those words! How could he say inn baaton mein kuch nahi rakha? When his whole life revolves around this single talk - Naina and his bond? Their relationship? His love for her?

No! That's true that he doesn't give a damn to what the world thinks about him. But what it thinks about her, means the world to him!

"Aur waise bhi Christmas ka season hai. Tum jao jakar apne friends ke saath enjoy karo. I am perfectly fine",

he assures her, looking towards her, smiling.

He understands that she is concerned about him and he needs to assure her that he is fine, just the way he needs to be assured that she is fine! And he won't let her go unassured and hence leave her anxious, by any means. After all his war is not with her but with the evil ones and himself!

A war that he is fighting with himself is the one where his heart pushes him to Naina and his mind drags him back and minds him to restrain himself from doing anything which might turn out to be disastrous not only for himself but for Naina too! Naina, the innocent one, who doesn't have the slightest idea about what's hidden in his heart, for her!

"Sir, aap bhi please ab inn sub baaton ke barey mein soch kar apna mood aur apna waqt kharab mat karna",

suggests Naina, almost like ordering him, inside her heart breaks while saying so!

This involuntarily brings a smile on his face, her concern towards him. This skips his heartbeat as no one before her has ever cared about him ever! How can he not get affected? How can he be smart enough to hide the affect, the deep affect that her words had on him, when he knows that in front of her, all his smartness go in vain?

While simultaneously it hurts him too! His smile turns sarcastic, but she fails to understand. She would never understand!

But he doesn't realize how his smile might affect not only Naina but few others too who are noticing them! Naina might have enjoyed seeing him smiling. Taking it as a positive sign, that he is fine. Hell might, she surely has enjoyed his smile, but the same cannot be said about Dr. Mishra and Huda!

Taking the smile as an encouragement, Naina for the first time holds him by his upper arm, a measure to pull him along her to take him to her friends so that they can enjoy together. But in her innocence, she fails to understand how those who are keeping a check on them, might read this gesture of hers!

But Rajveer, being the more mature one between the two, when it comes to matters like these, quickly scans that no one has caught her holding him that way and with in moments, frees his arm from her hold, scolding her mildly,

"Cadet Singh behave yourself!"

This scolding her, more than behaving her down, is to show to anyone, if noticing, that he is not encouraging this by any means. No! he is not being selfish here, it is rather a measure to save both of them from further embarrassment and hence leading their careers into danger.

Rajveer doesn't fail to notice how his sudden withdrawal of his arm from her hold, affects her negatively. Her smile vanishes with in moments. By the serious look on her face, he could make out that if he touches her face right now, her cheeks must be emitting heat at a higher degree. But of course unlike other times, when he makes her to blush and feel shy, this heating up of her cheek isn't a pleasant scenario for Rajveer. This contracts Rajveer's heart but he chooses to ignore. He keeps reminding himself that this he is doing for their own good! This way he tries to minimize his guilt of hurting her, which doesn't really get minimized anyhow.

His heart beats at a tremendous speed as it hurts him to hurt her and at the same time he becomes conscious of everyone's presence around, hence the consciousness leads him to hurt her!

Shaking his head in disbelief, at her childish attitude, he leaves, leaving behind a heartbroken Naina.

As the party ends Naina reaches Rajveer in his room.

"I don't understand what's your problem Cadet Singh?",

shouts Rajveer after opening the door for her, pissed off.

"Ahmmm... I am sorry Sir. I won't take much of your time I promise.",

pleads Naina hesitantly.

Her pleading pierces his heart but he makes sure that she remains oblivious to it. Hence shutting the door, Rajveer walks away from her, looking away and scolds her,

"Kahiye Cadet Singh. To apne mujh tak pohonchne ka raasta dhundh hi liya."

Turning to look towards her, he asks her, scolding her,

"Kahiye, kya shikayat hai apko?"

A hesitant and nervous Naina, lowers her eyes and says,

"I am very sorry Sir...",

but she gets intervened by his scolding,

"Enough of sorrys!"

"What sorry Cadet Singh? I am tired of these sorrys!",

he scolds further, frustrated.

"Sir main, iss samay iss tarah apke kamre mein nahi aana chahti thi par mujhe lagta hai shayad kahin na kahin koi galat fehmi hai!",

Naina states clearly.

Walking closer to her out of anger he shouts at her asking,

"Kisko galat fehmi hai apko ya...",

he looks away, afraid of uttering the next words, because he knows the possibilities of them being true, nevertheless he completes his words,

"Ya fir mujhko?"

Naina lowers her eyes for fraction of seconds, then looking back towards him, she completes,

"Sir, dono mein se kisiko bhi ho par fark to iss baat ka padhta hai ke galat fehmi hai!"

Rajveer out of anxiety looks away.

"Sir, aap to jante ho ki main apko kitna manti hun!",

says Naina earnestly.

This touches Rajveer's heart. His breath hitches. But he immediately turns away as a measure to shield his true feelings from her which he worries might reflect by his eyes.

"Sir... Bhaiya ke baad agar koi sahara hai to... sirf aap hain Sir!",

says Naina, earnestly.

Her each word pierces his heart. How hard it is being for him at this moment to portray a pissed off and angry Rajveer in front of her, only he knows.

Out of anxiety he walks forth and away from Naina. Whilst all this Naina continues,

"Aur KMA mein aap sirf mere teacher nahi, meri prerna hain!"

Rajveer pays attention to her each word and why wouldn't he, after all her every word; her every gesture means the world to him! Only if he could say that to her...!

"Meri wo shakti hain jisse main manti hun. Jo mujhe har waqt; har samay motivate krte rehte hain.",

Naina shares her emotions for him with him.

Anxious Rajveer walks forth, changing his position and stands.

"Aur Sir agar apko... aise lagne lag gaya hai ki... main apse pyar karti hun..."

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. His ears start emitting heat out of anticipation of her reaction to this.

Does she really? Would she confess? How would he react if she does?

So many questions cloud his mind with in moments.

"Yakeen maniye Sir aisa bilkul bhi nahi hai!"

There with her these words she succeeds into shattering his heart into million pieces within seconds. And irony is she doesn't have even slightest idea about what she has done to him by uttering those words!

"MAIN APKO BILKUL PYAR NAHI KARTI HUN SIR!",

she makes it clear. But there is no hatred or the joy of victory of having hurt Rajveer, in her voice. In fact she is completely oblivious to what is she doing to Rajveer right now - break him bit by bit! Breaking his little faith of happening of a miracle in his life through Naina; because of Naina.

Walking in front of him in desperation, Naina continues with her explanation, her anxiety increasing with each passing moment,

"Aur agar kabhi bhi meri kisi harkat se apko laga ho, ya koi galat fehmi hui ho, to Sir...".

Rajveer immediately turns away, shocked, hurt! Not in a state to look towards her. At this moment he is sure, if she looks towards him properly, he might reveal something unintentionally, unuttering. Something he might regret later.

"Sir... I am really very very sorry!",

she apologizes earnestly.

Meanwhile, Rajveer tries to fathom everything he heard from Naina herself.

"Aur Sir, agar kabhi bhi mere dil mein apke liye aisi koi feelings aati bhi hain to... main apne liye apka career museebat mein nahi daal sakti Sir!",

says Naina, earnestly.

All of her words frustrate Rajveer. He takes a deep breath, calming down his nerves. His eyes turn teary, but he controls somehow.

"Mujhe bus itna hi kehna tha Sir apse!",

says Naina.

Realizing that he needs to say something now. Rajveer gets hold on his emotions. Taking a deep breath, he says,

"I completely understand Cadet Singh."

"In fact mujhe bhi aisa lagta hai ki...",

he pauses a little, breathing, releasing his anxiety in the process.

"Ya to apko galat fehmi hui hai ya...",

he finally looks towards her and adds,

"Kisi ne apko behkane ki koshish ki hai.",

his tone all serious.

"Kyunki...",

he pauses for fraction of seconds, his eyes transfixed somewhere on the ground, he silently gains confidence to utter the further words!

He turns to look towards Naina, because what he is about to say now is what he believes is true! Because unintentionally, he has finally for once got the chance to speak his feelings in front of her, even if keeping a lot of it hidden!!! He understands that she won't understand the juxtaposition hidden in his words, but if not anything he at least has the right to bring out his frustration about the fact of loving Naina unconditionally and not receiving it back even a little, through some means, doesn't he?

And this is exactly what he does by saying, knitting his brows, looking straight into Naina's eyes,

"Mujhe bhi aisa kabhi nahi laga..."

Although he began with full confidence, assuming that he would be able to complete his words looking into her eyes constantly and hence prove to himself that it's fine! It's fine if Naina could not reciprocate Rajveer's feelings. But alas! he couldn't do that for long. Walking ahead, looking away again from her, he controls his ill mannered tears and utters the words with all his grief and betrayal and love that he does to her mingled together,

"... ki apko mujhse pyar hai!"

Naina who is too engrossed in feeling guilty about the on going fiasco in the academy misses to realize the agony in the tone of Rajveer. Her eyes are transfixed somewhere on the ground feeling shy about discussing such a matter with her teacher!

And on the other hand Rajveer is feeling heart broken about saying this not to his student; but to the person he loves!

"Kabhi nahi laga aisa!",

repeats Rajveer, his voice dreamy as he drowns into the pool of grief and heartbreak.

Getting hold on his emotions yet again. He continues, changing his tone!

"In fact... kuch nahi badla!",

he tries to sound casual.

"Humare beech mein... na to koi problem hai aur...",

he realizes that he needs to get out of his grief and stay strong in front of Naina. He realizes how he is getting flowed away with his emotions, he needs to hold the rope of his emotions tight, especially in front of Naina.

And hence with a new determination, keeping his hurt, sorrow, frustration at a bay for some moments, he turns with new confidence in his voice. This again he is doing for Naina, to make her realize that it's all fine, she now needs to get going - away from him!

But along with that he also realizes that if he needs to save himself from further heart breaks in her hands, he needs to stay away from her! And hence that's another reason for the confidence in his voice.

"Main apko yakeen dilata hun... na kabhi hogi!",

he promises, looking straight into Naina's eyes.

Naina gets taken aback as she doesn't understand why but the way he uttered the last few words, the look in his eyes wasn't of understanding but of anger, loathe, pity all mingled together!

So finally for once she succeeded in reading his eyes! Wish you could have done that earlier Naina!

"Kuch nahi badla hai!",

Rajveer changes his tone.

Naina realizes that there is still taunt mingled with his tone. But why is that, she fails to understand!

"Sub kuch bilkul waisa hai jaisa ki pehle tha. Aur humesha aisa hi rahega.",

he says, walking past her.

Inside his mind thousands of feelings and thoughts are juggling and he is fighting with them to stay calm, but in vain!

"Haan agar kuch badla hai to sirf itna ki main nahi chahta ki aap har kadam meri ungli pakad kar chalein.",

he says, turning to look towards her. His eyes constant on her. And Naina's eyes are cascaded down trying to understand why is this happening!

"Apna raasta khud banana seekhein!",

he says, spitting all his anger and frustration through his words.

Anger as she failed to understand his feelings for her. Anger because she thinks if ever she falls in love with him, she wouldn't let him know!

But isn't this exactly what you are doing Rajveer? You are hiding your true feelings from her. So why is the expectation of being aware of her true feelings for you all the time? Why this disappointment about the fact that she won't share it with you if she ever gets to fall in love with you?

Longing are you, for her? To hear 'it' from her?

What's this frustration for?

Is it because despite saying everything; despite sharing every thought with you, she fails to tell you what you crave for each day to hear from her? The words from which despite running away all the time, you crave to get collided with?

But why is it that she has to be the one to unravel her feelings first every time? Why can't you be bold enough to let her know your true feelings for her without being asked? Is it for the fear of her reputation in the academy? Or is it that you are afraid that she might betray your feelings after getting acknowledged with them? If so, so why is this longing and crave for? Why this anger and frustration for? Why can't you just let it go?

He stares her in anger.

Hearing him, Naina lowers her eyes out of guilt and humiliation. Rajveer continues staring her. His eyes filled with rage. The crease in his forehead relaxes as Naina lowers her eyes as he realizes that finally Naina succeeded in getting his point. He nods his head lightly, glaring her throughout as a gesture of indicating her that 'yes you got my point! I won't talk to you now!'

"Aur agar ab aap mujhe excuse karengi to...",

he utters, glaring her throughout and turning he walks towards the door of his room and opens it for her. Holding the handle with his right hand and shoving the left into his jeans pocket, he stands there with his eyes cascaded down, not having the courage to look at her after hurting her so much.

Naina walks out of his room, her eyes cascaded down out of nervousness and guilt but she fails to go away without looking towards him one last time. And hence, turning to look towards him, she greets softly and nervously,

"Good night Sir!"

Rajveer walks away horizontally, such that his back is facing her, shoving his free hand into his jeans pocket, taking a deep breath, he greets her back trying to sound normal but his anxiety is palpable,

"Good night Cadet Singh!"

"And Happy New Year!"

"And...",

he looks heavenwards, trying to control his tears from spilling and with a shaky voice, he wishes her formally,

"And wish you a great life!"

This he really wishes for! Because he might go through hell in his life because of her, but this he is sure about that he would always want the best for her, no matter what!

Although he is turned away from her but his mind is constant on her. He is fully aware of her reactions behind him. As he feels her going away... gone... Rajveer finally gradually permits himself to release his pent up emotions.

Not that it is a spontaneous reaction. No! He rather tries to forget it and let the feeling go, and hence he shuts his eyes as a measure to control his frustration but alas! he fails to do that.

Slowly, holding all his emotions, releasing them in a slow pace, with his eyes closed, he walks towards the door of his room and slowly shuts the door. Of course he is fully aware of every corner of his room that he could walk there with closed eyes too! With the door of his room; he shuts the door of his heart as well, as he realizes there is no reason to keep it open because for whom it had been kept open, won't reach there ever!

As Naina walks away, she takes her each step real slow. With her heart beating at a tremendous pace, she doesn't understand why is it that she is feeling so wrong to be going away from him and leaving him in his way!

What was that exactly? Where did she go wrong? She thought he would be happy to know that she doesn't have any feeling of that sort for him and it is pure respect that she bears for him in her heart. But what was that look for? Those eyes...! That betrayed his words. As if he wanted to say something else but didn't say that and said otherwise.

She while walking towards her room thinks about what could be that he wanted to say to her?

She ponders into his words. He said that he too doesn't believe that she has any feeling of that sort for him.

Her heart starts beating on remembering this. She gradually proceeds with her thinking... But he never said that he doesn't have any feelings for her!

The realization makes Naina go cold and as a result she gets stuck at her place.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

She goes numb!

No! This can't be happening. No! No! No! He... He can't... How could he?
This is just the hangover of the tensed conversation they just had! It's making her to think irrationally. Tomorrow morning she surely will be able to think rationally. Yeah! She must stop over thinking. She must give him time. She must give herself time and relax. Everything will be fine tomorrow morning. This just a bad dream. A nightmare!

Getting into a conclusion about pondering into it next morning, Naina leaves for her room.

~*~*~

Inside Rajveer's room

Rajveer slowly slides down the door with his eyes closed. As he reaches the floor, he sits there in such a way that his knees are popped up and he is resting his elbows on his knees and his fingers are intertwined.

Tum se mujhe pyar kyon ho gaya
Tum na mile aur maine kho gaya
Tum mere khwaabon se jaa na sake
Tum meri baahon mein aa na sake
Tum se mujhe pyar kyon ho gaya
Tum na mile aur maine kho gaya
Tum mere khwaabon se jaa na sake
Tum meri baahon mein aa na sake

Rajveer remembers all the moments that they had spent together during the mentorship programme.

"Nahi karna chahta tha main Naina... Nahi karna chahta tha...!",

he mutters, tears welling up his eyes. He fails to utter what exactly he is indicating towards. That's the level of guilt he feels about loving her. And today her words have proved her once and forever that Rajveer and Naina is impossible!

Looking heavenwards he asks with teary eyes,

"Naveen... tu to sub kuch dekh raha tha na? Tu ne mujhe kyun nahi roka? Kyun Naveen kyun???",

he cries more.

"Aur abhi... khush tha main aise hi. Kya zarurat thi usse ye kehne ki wo mujhse pyar nahi karti? Kya zarurat thi???",

shouts Rajveer, crying bitterly.

Rubbing off his tear. With a desperation in his voice, he asks,

"Naina... agar meri bhawnaon ko na jante hue tumne meri bhawnaon ko yun rondh diya, to... to... tab kya hoga jab tumhe pata chalega ke... ke har raat tumhe apni khwabon mein dekhta hun main?"

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

He really gets anxious on merely anticipating the possibility.

"Mere bus mein jitna hai main utna karta hun tumse durr rehne ke liye. Ye mere bus mein nahi Naina!!! Ye mere bus mein nahi!!!",

he cries and cries and cries.

Tum se gila nahin mujhe,
kismat se hai gile.
Karta hai aasman kyon,
yeh dil ke faisle.

Rubbing off his tears, with a new confidence in his voice, he says,

"I know... I know, galti tumhari nahi hai. Galti halat ki hai!"

(Rajveer-Naina's revolt tune begins)

Standing straight, knitting his brows out of anger on the real culprits - Naveen's culprits, he promises,

"Main halat theek kar dunga Naina! Main sub kuch theek kar dunga!"

"Tum bhi ek aam ladki ki tarah zindagi jee paogi. Khush reh paogi."

Looking heavenwards, crying, he forces the words out of his choked throat,

"Pyar... Pyar kar paogi!"

(Rajveer-Naina's revolt tune continues)

He cries all the more as he utters the last line.

Tum mere khwaabon se jaa na sake
Tum meri baahon mein aa na sake
Tum se mujhe pyar kyon ho gaya
Tum na mile aur maine kho gaya

Rajveer remembers Naina's laughter; her words, everything whilst crying.
He fears how would he be able to face her tomorrow?

He decides to avoid her all the more. As much as possible!

He wonders would she visit him again tonight in his dreams like everynight? He realizes the fear and worry about the same is more acute today than it had been ever before!

Initially it was indeed difficult for him to accept seeing her each night in his dreams as this forced him to accept that he really was in love with her! He would end up getting up in the middle of the night, sweating. But gradually, he got habitual to it. He realized, how hard might he try, he would never be able to force her out of his dreams. He realized that Naina is gradually after overpowering his life is overpowering his dreams. And the irony is he doesn't really want to stop her by any means!

But today she made him to realize that impossible is impossible! She made him to realize that he is being child like by waiting for her.

Barbad ho gaya main kyon,
yeh bhi na keh saka.
Roya main yun ki ek bhi,
aason na beh saka.
Aason na beh saka,
Aason na beh saka.
Tum mere khwaabon se jaa na sake
Tum meri baahon mein aa na sake
Tum se mujhe pyar kyon ho gaya
Tum na mile aur maine kho gaya
Tum mere khwaabon se jaa na sake
Tum meri baahon mein aa na sake

Suddenly he wonders, did he do it right by not confessing his feelings for her?

~*~*~

Naina walks into her room, feeling lifeless. The sound of the wind entering through the windows is the only sound in her room.

"Mujhe bhi aisa kabhi nahi laga..."

"... ki apko mujhse pyar hai!"

His words ring in her ears. They churn in her mind again and again. Although numb but the anxiety kills her with each passing moment.

She gets an urge to run back to him and ask him - 'How dare you? How dare you say that?' 'What made you to think that I have never loved you?'

Isn't talking to someone politely love? Isn't thinking about someone all the time love? Isn't getting eager to meet someone each morning despite knowing that they don't have anything to talk about love? Who is he to judge her that she isn't in love with him?

But wait! What the hell are you thinking Naina? You just moments ago confessed that you don't love him. You tried to make it clear to him so that he stops pondering into the possibility of it and hence you saved him from the torture of remembering again and again of the fact that you loved him, didn't you? So where are these additional thoughts coming from?

Her heartbeat picks up pace as she feels guilty that she is thinking about her teacher; her mentor that way! No she needs to stop thinking that way. She probably is too much occupied by him from all the sides and hence those feelings are fluttering in her heart. But let's get practical. This is not happening. She cannot be with him. They are not meant to be with each other in any other way, other than as student and teacher; protge and mentor!

But what exactly are you feeling more guilty about Naina - for thinking about your teacher; your mentor that way OR is the guilt out of the fact that you unknowingly lied to him!

Her stomach churns whenever she thinks about the fact that henceforth they are not going to share the same relationship as they used to! Something has changed between them drastically. And it's getting difficult for Naina to accept it.

'She lied to him!' Why this thought is sounding her to be wrong and right both at the same time?

Wrong because she shouldn't have lied to Rajveer. She had never lied to him before, so why did she do that this time?

And right because she is relaxed on discovering that she lied to him, as this proves that it is not that she doesn't love him! It is not that!

So how is it Naina? What exactly is the truth?

Her eyes well up as she feels frustrated. She feels as if someone is strangling her to death. Unable to bear this anymore, she again starts chanting her mantra like always -

"Main yahan Naveen bhaiya ke gunhegaron ko saza dilane ayi hun. Main apne maksad se bhatak nahi sakti. Nahi farak padhta mujhe ke wo mera saath denge ya nahi. Nahi farak padhta!"

Unable to resist herself anymore, she rubs off her tears and in frustration and anger reaches back into Rajveer's room in her usual style - without knocking, pushing the door open. Her eyes burning with anger. But what meets her eyes cools her down with in fraction of seconds!

Standing in front of her is a shocked Rajveer, as shocked as she herself is, wearing lower of his night dress and his shirt he had been wearing since morning, the only difference is that all the buttons of his shirt is undone, revealing his perfectly built up chest.

Naina for the first time feels apologetic about her audacity that she shows each time while entering his room.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Frustrated and pissed off Rajveer looks towards her with knitted brows. His chest expands and contracts in quick succession as he feels angry on her.

His constant expanding and contracting chest drags Naina's attention.

"Tum?",

scolds Rajveer, pissed off.

Naina looks towards him, her eyes dark on him, for the first time. But Rajveer's irritation results in his skipping in noticing the change in her demeanor.

"Tum yahan kyun ayi ho firse Naina? Mujhe tumse koi baat nahi karni. Just leave!",

scolds a pissed off Rajveer.

Naina opens her mouth to speak, that suddenly she remembers that she must close the door before she continues with the conversation owing to his current state!

Rajveer anticipating her move quickly walks and hides against the wall which is along with the door of his room.

As she turns to close the door Major Bhargava happens to cross Captain Rajveer's room and he halts seeing Naina there. Naina gets shocked on discovering Major Bhargava there. Her head spins. She already was tensed regarding Rajveer's and hers ongoing status of relationship in the academy and then Rajveer's sudden withdrawal and here she collides with Major Bhargava, it's like topping on the bittergourd cake!

Standing in front of Naina, on the threshold of Rajveer's room, Major Bhargava gives her a devilish smile. Naina's heart sinks as she realizes how now this news that she was in Rajveer's room at this hour of the day would go around in the academy like fire in the forest. But she quickly gains back her equilibrium realizing that now is not that the time to go weak or look weak in front of Major Bhargava. And hence she stands straight looking straight into his eyes as if it is not Naina who committed mistake by coming into Rajveer's room at this hour of the day; it is rather Major Bhargava who is at fault here on roaming around in the academy after lights out.

His expression changes suddenly as he fakes to be thinking. He knits his brows, and with the index finger of his right hand standing erect, he indicates as if asking her to wait , and he looks up towards the board and reads,

"Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat!"

Then he looks back towards Naina and continues with his acting, and asks,

"Haan naam to wohi hai! Cadet Singh aap Captain Rajveer ke room mein kab shift huin?"

Standing at his place, Rajveer burns with anger and converts his hands into fists on hearing Major Bhargava's taunt.

Naina lowers her eyes, choosing to remain quiet and end this topic. But her expressions tell how pissed off she is right now on Major Bhargava. Her increased rate of breathing confirms that Major Bhargava's black magic is working on her perfectly! This brings a devil smile on Major Bhargava's face.

"Sone ja rahin thi kya aap?",

asks Major Bhargava, giving her a devilish smile.

His words pierce Naina's heart just the way Major Bhargava wanted.

His words go beyond Rajveer's tolerance power, he moves to get out and teach Major Bhargava a lesson but Naina anticipating his move, pushes him back lightly with her right hand which was holding the handle of the door and hence was hidden from Major Bhargava.

Rajveer gets shocked and stares Naina knitting his brows while Naina keeps her eyes constant on Major Bhargava.

"Sorry maine disturb kiya!",

Major Bhargava continues with his taunt.

Lowering his voice, whispering he says,

"Aap ghabraiye mat. Main ye baat kisi ko nahi kahunga!",

he places his index finger on his lips, acting to keep his lips sealed.

Rajveer bangs his back head on the wall, feeling helpless because of Naina.

Naina continues glaring him.

"Waise you must thank me Cadet Singh!",

says Major Bhargava, acting to be proud of himself.

Rajveer knits his brows all the more.

Naina tilts her head a little towards left, as a gesture of asking - what for?

Showing himself to be proud of doing what he did, he says with full attitude,

"Meri wajah se aap dono ko raat ko sunsaan ghaney jungle mein ek saath kuch waqt bitane ka mauka mila!"

His words increase the level of anger of Rajveer's and Naina's alike. Rajveer curses his lucks silently that he has been refrained by Naina to make any move.

With her piercing eyes, Naina glares Major Bhargava, and bearing that confidence in her voice as always, Naina tells him,

"Shukrguzar to main bohot hun apki Sir."

This surprises Rajveer and Major Bhargava alike. Rajveer, standing at his place stares Naina out of horror, where is she going with this.

"Mujhe ye to pata tha ki aap nirdayi hain, par apke uss kartut ne mujhe ye bhi bata diya ke apke paas dil hi nahi hai!",

says Naina, spitting venom through her each word.

Major Bhargava, hearing that smirks, as if feeling proud of hearing all that.

"Tareef ke liye shukriya Cadet. Par jahan tak mujhe samjh aata hai, to jo maine apke aur... apke Captain Rajveeer... ke liye kiya...",

taunts Major Bhargava, stretching 'Rajveer' purposely.

Rajveer looks away feeling disgusted. Naina's situation is no better.

"Usse ye samjh aata hai ke mere paas ek... chota sa hi sahi, par dil to hai!",

smirks Major Bhargava.

"Ab dekhiye na ussi dil ne hi to apke aur apke Rajveeer... ke dil ko tutne nahi diya cadet.",

taunts Major Bhargava, all the more, smiling sarcastically.

Rajveer finally shoves off Naina's hand and gets out of his hideout and facing Major Bhargava says,

"Dil kiska tutega aur kiska nahi, wo to waqt hi batayega Major Bhargava!"

Naina looks towards Rajveer hesitantly, feeling awkward on standing in front of Major Bhargava with Rajveer. She finds how confidently he is looking towards Major Bhargava. This in turn makes her all the more confident. Smiling confidently, she turns to look towards Major Bhargava.

Major Bhargava gives a victorious smile to Captain Rajveer.

"Captain Rajveer, finally apse mulakat hui! Warna ek pal ke liye to main ye samjh baitha tha ke main apke nahi balki Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia ke room mein hoon!",

taunts Major Bhargava, then looks towards Naina, giving her his devilish smile.

Rajveer glares him.

Naina lowers her eyes out of embarrassment.

"Tcchh... Tcchh... Tcchh...",

does Major Bhargava, mockingly, lowering his eyes.

Naina and Rajveer look towards him, knitting their brows, unable to comprehend his reaction.

Major Bhargava looks back towards Rajveer, smiling devilishly,

"Theek hai Captain agar aap yahi chahte hain to dekh lete hain."

"Lagta hai apko jo maine milaya...",

he emphasizes on 'maine'.

This irks Rajveer and Naina alike.

"Baat puri nahi hui thi apki tab.",

Major Bhargava completes his taunt.

Rajveer turns his hands into fists, looking away. Naina lowers her eyes feeling uncomfortable.

Major Bhargava continues,

"Ya fir shayad adhuri baatein puri ho gayi hain isliye baar baar milne ka mann ho rha hai aap dono ka! Wo kya hai na, koi misunderstanding nahi rahi hongi apke beech mein meri wajah se, nahi?",

he emphasizes on 'meri'.

This hits Rajveer and Naina hard!

Rajveer glares Major Bhargava.

"Major Bhargava, aap apne hadd se agey barh rahe hain ek baar fir!",

warns Captain Rajveer, glaring Major Bhargava.

Then he looks towards Naina for fraction of seconds, then looking back towards Rajveer, he tells him confidently,

"Ye jo apki ankhon mein confidence hai na Captain, iss kadar chaknachur kar dunga iss confidence ka, ke aap sochne par majboor ho jayenge...",

saying so Major Bhargava looks towards Naina and says,

"... ke apko Pyar kyun ho gaya?"

His words pierce the hearts of both Rajveer and Naina alike. Naina glares him. Rajveer still glaring, tries to think of words to retort back.

Smirking, Major Bhargava turns to leave, only to get halted by Rajveer's words...

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune begins)

"Kyunki... kyunki apko pyar nahi hua kabhi Major Bhargava, to main apko bata dun..."

Naina looks towards Rajveer, shocked by the words chosen by Rajveer.

Rajveer, fully aware of Naina's eyes on him, doesn't care to look towards her. At this moment it is important for him to maintain the eye contact with Major Bhargava. He knows if he fails to maintain the eye contact for any reason, that would prove to be his failure in front of Major Bhargava.

"Pyar kamzori nahi hoti Major Bhargava, pyar humesha taqat hoti hai.",

says Rajveer confidently.

Naina knits her brows, staring Rajveer out of shock.
His each word touches her heart, as if he is addressing to her rather than to Major Bhargava.

"Pyar ki wajah se koi chaknachoor nahi hota, balki pyar ki wajah se tute hue dil judte hain!",

explains Captain Rajveer, looking straight into Major Bhargava's eyes.

"Par ye baat aap nahi samjhenge, kyun pyar hone ke liye dil hona zaruri hota hai.",

says Rajveer, spitting venom through his each word.

Naina stares Rajveer out of shock! Surprised to get such words from him.

Rajveer doesn't take his eyes away from Major Bhargava.

Major Bhargava who feels slightly offended by Captain Rajveer's words, whose constant devilish smile falters for some seconds, quickly gains back his equilibrium and smiles back devilishly.

Smirking, Major Bhargava says,

"Yani pyar hai?",

he arches his right brow, smiling infectiously.

His words skip the hearts of both Rajveer and Naina alike. They both go crimson red but there is no smile on their faces. Rajveer lowers his eyes. Naina turns to look towards Major Bhargava, as his words yet again skip her heartbeat. Then gradually even she lowers her eyes.

Smirking again, Major Bhargava taunts,

"Have a good night folks! Enjoy the night!"

His words 'good night' and 'enjoy' hit his targets well! Rajveer and Naina feel uncomfortable in front of Major Bhargava and also in each other's company.

Rajveer glares Major Bhargava, Major Bhargava smirks back devilishly.

As he leaves, Rajveer shuts the door behind him out of anger and turns to look towards Naina.

Naina and Rajveer enjoy a small and serious eye lock.

(Rajveer-Naina slow tune begins)

Walking past her, folding his arms upon his chest, Rajveer with his that authoritative tone asks her,

"Kahiye kya baat karni hai apko Cadet Singh?"

Naina who was pondering over Major Bhargava's words until now gets realized by Rajveer's words that she had come here to talk to him.

Naina remembers what she wanted to talk to him and she goes all serious again, this time the reason is different! She feels hesitant. She lowers her eyes. But she has come all the way to his room again, and also has dealt with Major Bhargava, after all this, would she dare to tell him that she had come her for nothing? Would he take her words just like that? Of course not! Never!

Hesitantly, Naina asks him, looking straight towards him,

"Aap mere teacher hain. Apke paas mere har baat ka jawab hona chahiye. Right Sir?"

Rajveer's heartbeat picks up pace. Where is she going with this? He knits his brows all the more, indicating her a 'yes'!

Naina understands his indication and proceeds,

"Ek insaan aisa kya karta hai Sir, jisse kisiko pata chaley ke usse kisi se pyar hai?"

Her question skips Rajveer's heartbeat. He could feel the adrenaline rush on hearing her. He stares her, shocked.

Rajveer after staring her for sometime out of shock, turns away quickly and scolds her mildly,

"Cadet Singh! Behave yourself!"

Naina doesn't mind his scolding.

"Kya hua Sir? Kya maine kuch galat pucha?",

asks Naina, trying to gauge his reaction.

Her each word increases the rate of his heartbeat.

"Mere paas apke kisi bhi faltu baat ka jawab nahi hai.",

he states clearly.

"Faltu baat? Kahan faltu baat Sir?",

asks Naina, her throat at verge of getting choked out of over flowing of her emotions.

"Abhi kuch der pehle apne hi to kaha ke apko kabhi nahi laga ke mujhe apse pyar hai!",

says Naina, gaining confidence with each passing moment.

Confidence because of Rajveer's reactions to her. He certainly is looking nervous. This is so unlike him.

With full confidence, Naina asks him,

"To bataiye Sir, kaise pata chalta hai kisi ko ke apko kisi se pyar hai?"

Rajveer looks towards her. Naina looks back confidently. His eyes indicating her to stop with this stupidity of hers. But she seems to be adamant!

Rajveer taking a deep breath turns to walk towards the door to open it for her, whilst saying,

"Cadet Singh you need to leave...",

that he gets pulled by her, holding the collar of his shirt.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat. No, it isn't out of anger, it is rather out of surprise that she dared to do that.

As he gets closer to her, too close, staring her, nervous, Rajveer wonders what is she about to do next.

Naina's voice turns into whisper,

"Bataiye Sir, kaise pata chalega mujhe ke mujhe kisi se pyar ho gaya hai? Ya...",

Rajveer almost forgets to breath, waiting for her to complete.

"Ya... kisi ko mujhse pyar ho gaya hai?",

completes Naina, whispering.

Rajveer, as if it is a reflex action, lowers his eyes, unable to look towards her.

Then looks back towards her, his eyes at the verge of welling up.

"Apko kaise pata chala ke mujhe...",

Naina's throat chokes, her eyes well up.

"...mujhe apse... apse... pyar... nahi??",

forces Naina out of her choked throat.

Both of them try hard to hold back their tears.

Her closeness, her words increase the rate of his heartbeats.

"Main kaise pata lagaun ke mujhe... mujhe kisi se pyar ho gaya hai?",

asks Naina, forcing the words out of her choked throat.

Even her heartbeat rate has increased manifolds.

(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune continues)

Rajveer goes soft on her. His eyes soft on her. Naina starts feeling loved by him because of the softness.

Rajveer of course doesn't word anything. And as Naina realizes that he is not going to say anything, she asks softly, looking straight into his eyes,

"Sub kuch badal gaya hai na Sir?"

This skips his heartbeat again.

"Humare beech...",

she adds all the more softly.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune continues)

Rajveer looks into her eyes transmitting all his feelings through his eyes.

"Main...",

Naina takes a deep breath, and continues.

"Main aisa kya karun ke apko pata chale ke mujhe kisi se pyar ho gaya hai?",

asks Naina, desperate for him to make a move.

"Aisa kya karun ke apko samjh aye ke mujhe...",

she takes a deep breath, closing her eyes,

"Ke mujhe... apse pyar ho gaya hai?",

she breathes out as she utters the last four words, almost like a whisper.

Initially, Rajveer stares her shocked! Fathoming her each word. Releazing his breath slowly. Giving himself the privilege to feel her each word. Gradually, Rajveer looks into her eyes, a fresh disappointment and anger hit him, as he remembers her words, holding her hands that are holding his collar, looking straight into her eyes, he says, whilst jerking her hands away,

"Tumne khud kaha tha ke agar kabhi bhi tumhare dil mein mere liye aisi koi feelings aati bhi hain to... tum apne liye mere career museebat mein nahi daal sakti!",

reminds Rajveer, spitting venom through his each word, emphasizing on 'apne' and 'mere'.

Her own words pinch Naina's heart.

A small smile of satisfaction comes on Rajveer's face. Finally she could feel what he has felt multiple number of times because of her. She unknowingly had broken his heart a lot of times, today she could feel because of him, how it feels when your heart gets broken by someone you care for; someone you love!

Naina getting away from him a little, looks towards him in shock.

Rajveer certainly enjoys seeing her disappointed and hurt. She needs to realize!

But gradually it becomes unbearable for him to see Naina in pain, the lover Rajveer starts dominating Captain Rajveer yet again!

Turning a little soft, Rajveer advises her,

"Naina stay away please. Ye tumhare liye and mere liye, dono ke liye sahi hoga."

Naina looks towards him, hurt.

"I know... I know... tumhe abhi ye impossible lag raha hai. But trust me ye... ye sub kuch...",

he fails to continue looking into her eyes and hence turns away and continues,

"This is infatuation Naina!"

His words hit Naina afresh. She knits her brows, deeply hurt. Her heartbeat picks up pace afresh.

"Problem ye hai ke tum mere saath kuch zada hi time spend karti ho. You are too much involved with me Naina. Tum... tum sirf mere barey mein sochti ho. Kabhi kabhi jab hum kisi ke saath zyada time spend karte hain we start to develop feelings for them. It is not only about me, ye kisi bachey ke saath bhi ho sakta hai agar tum kisi bachey ke saath zada time spend karne lago. Ya... ya kisi friend ke sath? I am sure aisa hi tumhare saath bhi hua hai.",

says Rajveer, fully aware how much his words must be hurting her.

"Aur...",

as he was about to continue, he gets intervened by Naina.

Naina in a no nonsense tone asks him,

"Now what do you expect of me?"

This hurts Rajveer right! He goes numb. He doesn't look towards her. Naina waits for him to declare his decision.

Holding his emotions, ever so slowly, he says,

"I expect you to stay away from me!"

(Rajveer Naina revolt tune begins)

Naina although hurt, gets determined now! Nodding her head in a continuous succession replies,

"I expect the same from you!!"

This comes as a shock for Rajveer.

He turns to look towards her, all shocked. Naina looks back showing her determination.

"I want you to feel, to think... ke apko mujhse... pyar kyun ho gaya?",

says Naina, deeply hurt.

Her words make Rajveer to smile sarcastically.

"Mujhe tumse... pyar kyun ho gaya?",

he says, not really asking her, looking straight towards her.

"Good night Sir! Good night!",

says Naina.

They stare each other for moments and Naina turns and leaves.

Rajveer stares at retreating Naina, smiling sadly, lovingly at her.

SS : BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!

This story is based on the scene where Naina almost proposed Rajveer but alas it wasn't actually any proposal . Wanted to use this scene in The Desires, but that will take time so thought of giving it as an OS as for now. As usual initial dialogues are same where I have focused on the description. Further story will be changed. I hope you enjoy the read.

P.S. And here I add another story into my 'Incomplete stories' bucket. Forgive me for that please.
Shall try to complete my stories gradually and soon!

Happy reading!

[ 1 ]

Naina reaches the mess and gets surprised on seeing the hustle bustle.

Pooja on seeing her, reaches her and says,

"Ahmm... Naina tere favourite Captain Sir ki party hai chal paise nikal!"

"Rajveer Sir ki party?",

asks Naina, confused and surprised.

"Hmm...",

smiles Pooja.

"Naina, Captain Rajveer aur Dr. Ritu ki engagement party!",

clarifies Yudi reaching her.

Naina looks towards Yudi, shocked.

"What?",

exclaims a shocked Naina.

"Kyun? Any problem?",

asks Yudi, serious.

Huda stares towards Naina too, knitting his brows. A pang of jealousy touches his heart.

"Kya hua? Tu... khush nahi lag rahi hai unki engagement se.",

says Pooja, trying to gauge more of her reaction than she was already showing.

Naina goes speechless, wondering.

Alekh sitting at his place stares towards Naina, understanding her state.

Naina runs away!

Reaching Rajveer's room, she straightaway enters and declares without giving it a second thought,

"Aap Dr. Mishra se engage nahi ho sakte sir!",

her voice loud and clear, without any hesitation.

Rajveer whose back is turned towards her, turns his head towards his right, still not turning around to face her. He knits his brows, his face expression tells how he is not ready to accept Naina's decision on his engagement rightaway and needs a proper reason for him to not do it. And why the hell is she stopping him from doing that? How does it matter to her?

His face expression though not completely visible to Naina, but the side view tells her how he is surprised to hear that.

Naina's heart skips a beat on realizing that she tresspassed here. She has no right to suggest him what he should do in his personal life, she realizes it's a mistake she committed. But now what's said is said! She won't take her words back.

Lowering her eyes out of hesitation, she adds further, her voice turned soft out of guilt of tresspassing,

"I mean...aapko nahi hona chahiye sir."

Rajveer understands more than she said! But he chooses to ignore that. He knows he is just thinking too much. It is just her concern for him and not what he thinks it is!

"Naina kya tum mujhse sirf yehi kehne ayi ho?",

he asks in his strict tone, looking back in front of him. His brows still knit together. He is already tensed thinking about the situation he has befallen into. He doesn't want to argue with her and talk to her at the moment and make it all the more chaotic by her constant pressuring him to not get engaged to Dr. Mishra.

"Nahi!",

states Naina, with a new determination, raising her voice again.

His reply helped her to gain back her confidence. As much as he seems to be frustrated at the moment, she is too! If he can talk to her like that, even she can give him back the same!

Walking towards him in desperation, still standing behind him at a distance, the distance is less than it was before, she says anxiously,

"Main apko ye bhi batane ayi hun Sir, ke jo bhi Dr. Mishra ne Bhaiya ki trial ke barey mein humein bataya, wo sub jhoot hai!"

"Aur main wo sub baatein sunn chuka hun.",

states Rajveer, clearly, out of anger.

This gives Naina a mini heart attack.

Rajveer turns to look towards her and says,

"Main tumse milne ke liye aa raha tha, jab tumhare parents ki sari baatein sunn li."

Naina gets surprised at this too.

Rajveer looks away feeling guilty.

"Sir phir bhi aap...",

she says, her voice calm, as if trying to read his mind.

"Dekho Naina...",

he states clearly.

Walking past her he says,

"Aisa tumhare parents mante hain ke jisse unhone burqay mein dekha tha wo Dr. Mishra hain. Lekin mein aisa bilkul nahi manta",

he adds the second line in a single breath, wording each word clearly.

Naina turns to look towards him, shocked.

Giving it another try, Naina says, desperately,

"Lekin Sir aap samjhne ki koshish kyun nahi kar rahe hain ki agar Ma-Baba itne yakeen ke saath..."

Rajveer rolls his eyes to the right, frustrated.

"...keh rahe hain to wo hundred percent sure hain.",

she completes.

Pissed off, Rajveer turns to face her, raising his voice, he asks,

"Unke yakeen se kya hota hai?"

"Maine iss case ko chaar saal investigate kiya hai.",

he states clearly.

"Aur inn salon mein Naveen ki iss case ki har suchhai ke saath maine har ek pal jeeya hai.",

he says, knitting his brows.

Naina stares him, knitting her brows too, unable to understand how to make him understand.

"Dr. Mishra ki baat to bohot durr hai, kisi ladki ka koi mention tak nahi tha!",

he states, looking straight into Naina's eyes.

"Na to koi surak aur na hi koi sambhavna!",

he tells her, serious.

"Details to Bhaiya ki maut ki bhi nahi likhi gayi!",

says Naina, anger visible in her eyes.

Rajveer looks away, still facing her, as if feeling guilty about saying what he said!

"Kaise? Kisne? Kyun unhe mara?",

says Naina each word clearly, angry still.

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina. His eyes dark and serious, with a pinch of nervousness mingled with them.

"To iska matlab main ye maan lun ke mere Bhaiya ne atmahatya ki thi?",

asks Naina, looking straight into his eyes, angry.

Rajveer feels anxious and suffocated, and looks away without saying anything.

"Aur waise bhi main Dr. Ritu ko bata chuki hun, ke jo bhi ladki uss din burkhe mein thi, main usse dhundh kar hi rahungi!",

states Naina, clearly and angrily.

This comes as a shock for Rajveer.

He turns towards her out of shock.

"What???",

he exclaims out of anger.

Holding her by both of her upper arms, he jerks her and asks desperately, scolding her for the childish behaviour she showed,

"Pagal ho gayi ho tum? Bachpane ki koi hadd hoti hai!",

scolding, he leaves her.

This hurts Naina, not the way he held her, tightly out of anger but his words! She didn't expect this reaction from him. She thought he would take her side. Would appreciate her move. She by no means wanted to hurt him by saying all that to Dr. Mishra.

"Grow up Cadet Singh!",

he scolds her out of anger, frustration.

Naina starts feeling guilty and sorry. Her eyes on him, trying to see at least one hint that would tell her that he is not angry on her. She cannot bear to see him angry on her. Afterall he is her mentor; they are team; he is Naveen's friend; he is the only support system of hers.

"Sir...",

she trails off unable to understand what to say.

But then Rajveer too doesn't give her any chance to explain herself. This deed of hers doesn't have any place for explanation, hence he continues,

"Agar hum ye maan bhi lein ki Dr. Mishra wohi aurat hai jo hum samjh rahe hain, tab bhi tum janti ho ki tumne kitni bewakufi bhari harkat ki hai?"

Naina lowers her eyes, her brows knitted out of guilt. She looks back towards Rajveer, her heart beating frantically out of anxiety.

Rajveer turns away frustrated and scolds,

"Tum dushman se puch rahi ho ki apne gunah ka certificate de."

Naina looks towards him anxiously. Her cheeks starts burning out of the feel.of guilt and anxiety. She has become a reason of trouble again for her Rajveer Sir and this time it is way too serious. This guilt pierces her heart.

He turns and scolds her,

"Tell me Cadet Singh...",

holding her again by her upper arms,

"Kya soch kar tum Dr. Mishra ke paas gayi thi?"

"Why?",

he leaves her again, jerking her.

She ignores the pain that he inflicts to her in the process and asks staring him, with a new determination,

"Iska matlab Sir aap bhi mante hain ki Dr. Mishra dushman hai!!!"

Rajveer stares her, dumbstruck!

Rajveer relaxes his brows, realizing what he said shouldn't have been said by him.

Walking away, ignoring to look towards her, he says,

"Aisa tum manti ho, main nahi manta!"

Naina stares him knitting her brows, his each word hurts her, but she ignores. He still ain't trusting him!

"Dr. Mishra ne mujh par ehsaan kiya hai; mujhe embarrass hone se bachaya hai. Apna... career khone se bachaya hai!",

he says still not looking towards her and hence Naina misses to notice the hesitation in his eyes while uttering those words.

If she would have noticed that she would have known, he is lying. He is not doing it for all that sake! He has his own ulterior motive for getting engaged to Dr. Ritu Mishra.

Frustrated and losing all hopes, Naina says,

"Sir aap...",

she walks to him, standing beside him, she says,

"Sir aap samjhne ki koshish kyun nahi kar rahe?",

her tone still the same frustrated and desperate.

Rajveer still doesn't look towards her, holding his ground!

"Ki jo ladki Naveen Bhaiya se suchcha pyar nahi kar payi, kya wo apse suchcha pyar kar payegi?",

she asks, frustrated.

Rajveer turns his head to his right, pondering at her words. He realizes, understands that she is right. Another thing that comes in his mind is when did he say that he loves Dr. Mishra? When did he say that he is getting engaged for love? But still the girl standing in front of her has taken his silence for all that! This girl who never understands what his silence means when he expects her to understand, is understanding way too much when he wants her to not ponder into this situation. When he doesn't want her to give much heed to the on going scenario.

"Sir aisa bhi to ho sakta hai ke iss mein Dr. Ritu Mishra ki koi chaal ho?",

suggests Naina desperately.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat as he himself was thinking the same. But he realizes that he cannot let Naina know about his thinking the same or else this would make the situation all the more chaotic for him. Hence, taking a deep breath, he asks,

"Kis liye? Dr. Mishra mere saath koi chaal kyun chalegi?"

This irritates Naina, out of anger more on Dr. Mishra than on Rajveer, she says,

"Ye to apko hi pata karna hai Sir!"

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina, all serious.

"Main sirf ye janna chahti hun ke aap Dr. Ritu se engage honge ya nahi?",

asks Naina, determined to get an answer.

Rajveer looks away, thinking.

"Kyunki main apne Ma-Baba ko dilasa de chuki hun ke aap mere saath hain!",

she states clearly.

This gets Rajveer to go anxious.

Taking a deep breath, Naina asks for the final time,

"So tell me - yes or no?"

Rajveer stares a determined Naina, confused. He knits his brows, staring her throughout. How can she do that? How can she make him fall into a dilemma like that? Why is she trying to make it all the more difficult for him?

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

Rajveer knits his brows, puzzled.

Coming to a conclusion, Rajveer takes a deep breath. With his back still turned towards Naina, he turns his head towards his left, focusing back on Naina and declares his decision clearly,

"Main Dr. Mishra se engage nahi hunga!"

"You have my words!",

he states, looking towards her, his back still turned towards her.

Rajveer witnesses the sigh of relief that Naina takes and the way her eyes twinkle suddenly; the smile of relief that stretches on her lips all of these stuffs pierce his heart. He looks away unable to tolerate it anymore.

Naina walks a little in front of Rajveer, Rajveer turns to look towards her, all serious, controlling the turmoil of emotions that's going on inside his heart seeing her staring him that way - possessively. His face feels the adrenaline rush. His heart although beating at a tremendous speed but he tries to keep it under control.

(Rajveer-Naina slow tune begins)

"Thank you Sir!",

says Naina, ever so calmly, almost like dreamingly.

Her voice radiates how calm and satisfied she is feeling on hearing his last words. The way one feels after achieving something she/he is trying to achieve desperately since a long time.

Had the relationship been a little different between Rajveer and Naina today, then surely she would have hugged him tight out of excitement. Because excited is exactly what she is right now. But her excitement ain't the type where she would jump around to make it visible it is rather the type where she would go all quiet and relaxed, dumbstruck may be?

Rajveer looks away towards his front whilst she thanks him, worrying that what if she reads his eyes that right now he feels must be conveying his feelings for her perfectly. Looking away is just an escape!

"Thank you Sir!",

but Naina doesn't look away, enjoying seeing him to her heart's content. Relaxed, that her Rajveer Sir wouldn't get engaged to Dr. Mishra. Well this is what she thinks. But if she would have dared to ponder into her heart she would have known that smile of contentment and the relaxation ain't much for the fact that she saved him from Dr. Mishra, but they are more for the fact that she saved Rajveer for herself!

Rajveer doesn't turn to look towards her, standing stiff, as a measure to control his emotions. But what he doesn't understand is his eyes are giving away all of his emotions, only that Naina is not caring much to focus and consider!

Looking away, Naina shares her feelings about the situation and says,

"Sir mujhe ek pal ke liye aisa laga ki ussi aurat ne apko bhi mujhse cheen liya, jaise Bhaiya ko!"

She tries to feel what else did she feel at that time.

She looks towards him and says ever so calmly,

"Mujhe laga maine apko kho diya!"

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat, exactly what Naina had expected! He turns to look towards her immediately. How could she think that? - he wonders, a little disappointed. They stare each other all serious. Conveying their feelings to each other silently, only that Rajveer knows what he is conveying to her but Naina, she isn't aware of it at all about what she is conveying to him but the urge to stare him to relax herself is all what she knew she wanted and she did exactly the same without pondering into the reason for doing it or the result after doing it!

Rajveer turns to his front again, all serious, walking ahead slowly, without blinking his eyes, he says, ever so calmly yet clearly,

"Nahi Naina... Tum mujhe kabhi nahi khogi!"

And this he says not only to her but it is also a promise to himself, that whatever comes the situation he would never leave her side!

Naina goes calm as she starts pondering into what all she did before reaching here, feeling a little guilty.

Walking to him, standing adjacent to him, she looks towards him and apologizes,

"Ahmm... I am sorry Sir!"

Rajveer maintains his posture.

Naina looks in front feeling a little stupid about how she reacted.

"Actually I have realized ki wo... wo bohot hi bachkani harkat thi!",

she apologizes.

The moment she ends the line, Rajveer says, as if he anticipated this coming, still not looking towards her, his eyes somewhere towards the tubelight of his room,

"Naina agar tumhari jagah koi aur bhi hota..."

Whilst lowering his eyes he continues,

"To shayad aisa hi karta!",

by the time he reaches the end of the line, he looks back towards Naina.

Naina stares him, relieved. Her look conveys how much has her feeling for him increased after hearing that. Rajveer does understand that, but chooses to stay quiet because he understands that she still isn't fully aware of her feelings. He cannot do anything that might ruin it all.

Rajveer slowly lowers his eyes, not wanting her to read his eyes perfectly by any means. His face not turned towards her.

"Nahi Sir wo... pata nahi mujhe kya ho gaya tha! Main bohot gusse mein thi aur jaise hi maine Ritu Ma'am ko corridor mein dekha, maine unko jakar keh diya ke aap unse engagement nahi karenge, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!",

states Naina in one breath!

Rajveer stares Naina, shocked! His eyes dark on Naina. Naina stares back Rajveer, shocked herself! Her heart too skips a beat, wondering what would he think of her! How would he react? Will he be angry? Who was she to claim him as her own?, and feels guilty. But she doesn't lower her eyes, staring him throughout out of sheer guilt and trying to gauge his mood and reaction.

His stare, his holding of his breath, were all to know - did he miss something? Did she ever try to convey him her feelings for him which he missed acknowledging? Was his feeling that she doesn't bear any such feeling for him in her heart, wrong? Was he exaggerating by taking his luck as bad this time?

When he doesn't lower his eyes, Naina does! This reminds Rajveer what he is doing - he is staring her, possessively! He quickly looks away, minding himself.

Naina realizes that she needs to explain why she said so.

With her eyes lowered out of hesitation, she says,

"Sir wo... a...",

she looks back towards him hesitantly, Rajveer keeps staring ahead of him, avoiding to look towards her when she is saying such things to him.

"Uss moment ke liye mujhe wohi theek laga aur maine unhe bol diya.",

she says, hesitantly, her voice soft out of hesitation.

Naina tries to gauge his reaction.

Looking ahead, almost like smirking, she says,

"Dr. Ritu bhi chonk si gayi thi."

Rajveer doesn't turn to look towards her out of hesitation and awkwardness.

Naina too doesn't look towards him. Releazing her breath that she didn't realize she had been holding since the time Rajveer gave her that possessive look after hearing the four words - BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!, she finally turns to look towards him and says, smiling a little, politely,

"Anyways Sir wo... mere mid term ke exams announce kar diye gaye hain aur... mujhe jakar parhayi bhi karni hai so... I'll see you!",

whilst saying so she tries to gauge his reaction to her prior words!

Rajveer lowers his eyes and turns his face a little towards Naina but doesn't look towards her directly, out of hesitation and fear that she might end up reading his eyes. He nods his head a little into positive, indicating her that he is permitting her to leave. But he realizes that she doesn't move immediately, she rather keeps staring him as if craving for him to look towards her.

"Good bye Sir!",

she says, a way to make him look towards her before she leaves. She craves for him to look towards her. The fact that he is not looking towards her disturbs Naina, but she doesn't realize it.

Rajveer does finally looks towards her. It's then Naina realizes how much she was craving for this possessive stare that they share seldom. Her smile vanishes a little, her heart skips a beat. Her rate of heartbeat increases. It does suffocate her, his possessive stare, but she doesn't understand why she enjoys this suffocation! Rajveer keeps his possessive stare intact, craving for her to understand his feelings.

To his dismay, Naina leaves without saying anything to him! Rajveer keeps repeating her words in his mind.

Out of frustration Rajveer sits on his sofa resting his head against the back of the sofa such that his face is facing towards the ceiling, his eyes closed, Rajveer remembers his encounter with Naveen when he got punished for reaching late to the academy with Naina, after the mentorship programme.

*Flashback*

Placing his palms on the wooden table, he stretches his body behind and starts doing push ups. On his each push up he remembers the moments he had spent with Naina during mentorship programme. The feelings that he realizes for the first time that he developed for Naina during the mentorship programme, send shivers to run down his spine. Though sweating out of physical work, but the shivers do run down his spine.

He shakes his head to a 'no!' in anger, his eyes shut tightly out of frustration. The workout was already leading to the increase in his heartbeats, and his thoughts about Naina make his heart to beat at altogether a different level.

Opening his eyes he keeps glaring towards the mirror in front of him, his speed increasing out of anger. The adrenaline rush is not helping him to calm down.

"Nahi!",

he shouts, stopping, almost like scolds himself for thinking like that about Naina.

"Ye such nahi hai!",

he exclaims to himself, holding back his tears.

He gets up. His heart beating at a tremendous speed less because of the workout more because of the anxiousness he feels on his sudden realization about his feelings for Naina.

"Main Naina se pyar nahi karta!",

he states immediately, innocently. As if his saying so will mean that he really doesn't love Naina. As if he never lies to himself. As if he has never lied to himself.

He walks up his frustration and anxiousness increasing with each passing moment, thinking about his feelings for Naina. He walks towards the long mirror kept in front of him.

"Aisa nahi ho sakta!",

he states, getting determined.

"Jhoot hai ye!",

he raises his voice, as if minding his heart.

But nothing helps! His frustration increases. He entwins his fingers together holding his hands together, making a fist out of them, and out anger he was about to beat the mirror and hence turn it into pieces, that someone's voice holds him back.

"Kya jhoot hai Raj?",

asks Naveen. His voice drags Raj's attention.

He turns to look towards him immediately, drenched in sweat.

"Naveen!",

he exclaims, knitting his eyes, seeing his best friend after so so long! His heartbeat picks up pace on seeing Naveen. He needs to tell him a lot of things, he needs to ask him so many questions, he needs so many answers, he is craving to hear him properly, hug him, fight with him over stupid things, laugh with him, cry with him.

"Naveen... mere dost!!!",

But the only thing he ends up doing is hugging his best friend tightly. Out of too many emotions brewing inside him, it becomes difficult for Raj to choose which should he show first, therefore he ends up hugging him as he knows it's the best gesture to make him understand all his feelings. Naveen smiles as Raj hugs him.

But before Naveen could wrap his arm around Raj, Raj gets back, still holding on Naveen's arms. With too much affection he stares at Naveen. Raj's eyes brim with tears.

Naveen keeps staring Raj with a little smile on his face. Raj, too much excited on seeing his best friend after such a long time, stares him back with watery eyes.

Still holding him by his arms, Raj asks Naveen,

"Aise kyun dekh raha hai mujhe?"

"Dekh Naveen... wo... wo such nahi hai!",

Raj quickly starts explaining himself, smiling hesitantly, shaking his head into negative, anxious to make Naveen understand the truth.

Feeling shy and embarrassed, Raj places his right palm on Naveen's right cheek, with a mixture of smile and laugh on his face, Raj tells him,

"Pagle main janta hun ki wo teri behn hai. Main uska..."

"Main uska mentor hun yar!",

he says, looking towards Naveen, smiling, to make him understand that he is not taking the speculation seriously and he should also not think anything of that sort.

"Main sirf... main sirf uske upar koi aanch nahi aane dena chahta.",

he says, looking straight into Naveen's eyes.

"Main usse sirf...",

he lowers his eyes for fraction of seconds before he continues, this lowering of eyes, Naveen understands is out of hesitation.

"Bacha raha hun yaar.",

he completes, looking back towards Naveen.

Naveen with a constant smile on his face, keeps staring Raj.

"To fir tu ne ye saza accept kyun ki?",

Naveen asks, ever so calmly.

His question succeeds in skipping Raj's heartbeat.

Raj lowers his eyes unable to look towards Naveen, Naina's brother.

"Nainsafi ke khilaf tu ne awaz kyun nahi uthayi Raj?",

Naveen asks, testing him.

This skips another of Raj's heartbeat and Raj looks towards Naveen, his face warming up as a guilt fills his heart afresh.

Unable to endure this anymore, Raj gets up and turns away from Naveen. Shoving his hands into his trousers' pockets, he says, raising his voice, a measure to hide his guilt,

"Mujhe fansya gaya hai yaar!"

"Tu janta hai achi tarah se Major Bhargava ko!",

he adds further, his anxiety increasing.

Getting up behind him, shoving his hands into his pockets, Naveen says, calmly,

"Haan janta hun!"

This calms down Raj to a certain extent. But Naveen's next words skip his heartbeat again, Raj turns to look towards Naveen, blood drained out of his face out of guilt,

"Lekin kya tu bhi khud ko gunehgar manta hai Raj?"

"Naveen... please yaar!",

Raj says, looking away out of guilt and awkwardness. Guilt about his feelings for Naveen's sister and awkwardness of discussing it with Naina's brother; his best friend.

Smiling, understanding his state, Naveen lowers his eyes. Placing his hand on Raj's shoulder, Naveen tries to make him understand,

"Dekh Raj..."

"Naina tujhe trust karti hai.",

Raj raises his lowered eyes but doesn't turn to look towards Naveen.

"Wo sirf tujh pe bharosa karti hai.",

Naveen tells Raj.

Raj looks towards Naveen at this. Feeling all the more guilty. Knowing this fact very well that Naveen is sharing with him.

Turning towards Naveen, Raj holds him by both the shoulders, all serious and drowning into the pool of guilt, Raj says,

"Main janta hun Naveen. Aur isiliye main uske trust ka koi faida nahi uthana chahta."

"Believe me yaar! Believe me!",

Raj says, softly, pleading.

"I believe you Raj! I believe you!"

"Lekin fir tu kis baat se bhaag raha hai haan?",

asks Naveen.

Thinking for some moments, Raj looks towards Naveen, considering to share his heart's content with his best friend.

Turning back, as it becomes impossible to say what he is about to say, looking straight towards Naveen, out of awkwardness, guilt, he says,

"Yahi ke... ke main teri behn se pyar karta hun."

"Lekin...",

he turns to explain but finds Naveen gone! He is standing all alone! Raj realizes that he came here just to make Raj realize and confess about his feelings for Naina! His heart skips a beat on finding no one there but himself to deal with the situation all alone! He tries to search him all around, still sticking to his place and deep down he realizes that since Naveen had a purpose to visit him, now he is gone as he has accomplished his motif.

His heart starts beating again at a tremendous pace. He didn't want to confess about his feelings for Naina even to himself and here he has confessed it in front of her brother; his best friend! Or rather he forced him to confess!

"Shayad karne laga hun!",.
he says, helplessly, looking heavenwards for a brief moment and then cascading down his eyes out of guilt! His eyes turned teary out of so many emotions - love, guilt, awkwardness.

"Wakayi karne laga hun!",

he says looking heavenwards, addressing to Naveen. And shuts his eyes tight feeling extremely sorry and helpless about his feelings for Naina.

Opening his eyes, he slowly looks heavenwards again and apologizes, crying still,

"I am sorry Naveen!"

"Pata nahi kab aur kaise!",

his voice shaky, his eyes teary. He shuts his eyes, bows his head, feeling regretful.

*Flashback ends*

Rajveer opens his eyes and stares the ceiling, all serious.

*******

Frustrated herself, Naina reaches her room, resting on her bed, her back resting against the pillow, she starts thinking about few moments that she had spent with Rajveer. She feels uneasy about the fact the he is getting married to Ritu.

Her mind suddenly wanders towards the conversation he once had with Alekh.

*Flashback*

Naina becomes restless, she needs to talk to him right now. His anger; his silence is becoming intolerable for her now. Getting up she leaves for his room!

As Naina gets out of her room and walks to reach Rajveer's room, Alekh pats her on her shoulder from behind, and asks her,

"Kahan ja rahi hai?"

"Captain Rajveer ko milne!",

she informs him, and tries to slip away.

As she walks to a certain distance, Alekh controlling his amusement, halts her from behind by saying,

"Sirf milne ka..."

Naina holds her waist from either sides, out of frustration and takes a deep breath.

Still controlling his laughter, Alekh walks towards her, and warns her,

"Baat-waat nahi karne ka!"

"Kyun?",

she asks, plastering a smile on her face, trying to irritate him just like he is irritating her right now.

"Kya?",

asks Alekh, melodramatically.

Naina lowers her eyes, embarrassed, as she is completely aware what he is pointing towards.

"Bhul gayi? Shart har gayi hai tu!",

reminds Alekh, showing himself off, as he is the winner!

"Aur Captain Rajveer, Vice Principal nahi baney!",

reminds Alekh.

Naina's face falls and heart stops beating altogether. She lowers her head.

"Haan agar tujhey gungon ki bhaasha aati hai... to try maar!",

teases Alekh, smiling lovingly.

Knowing that she can never disobey Alekh, she looks towards Captain Rajveer's room one last time, with sad eyes, and turns to return.

As she turns, Alekh hits his back head playfully, and runs to stop her. Holding her by her back arms, he stops her by saying,

"Arey Naina... Naina... baith ja baith ja baith ja baba...",

he makes her sit on a sitting area at the main hall of KMA. Naina obliges silently.

She keeps staring him, disappointed.
Alekh looks towards her, gauging her reactions.

"Bhul ja ussey!",

he orders more than says, like a true brother.

Laying back, Alekh teases her further by saying,

"Waise... apun ko ek kahani yaad aa rahi hai - 'Raja ki jaan totey mein...'",

looking at her through the corner of his eyes, he says,

" 'aur tera... Captain Rajveer mein!'",

he quickly looks away.

Naina turns to look towards him, shocked.

Alekh turns to look towards her too, holding his amusement.

"Kyun, galat bola?",

asks Alekh, teasingly.

Naina smiles slowly, and shakes her head into negative. This makes Alekh to smile too. They both as always succeed in understanding their silent, hidden conversation!

Smiling, Alekh gestures her to go and meet Captain Rajveer, giving permission. Setting her free from the condition that he laid.

*Flashback ends*

A lone drop of tear rolls down Naina's cheek as she feels frustrated after remembering this incident.

Getting up Naina walks to her cupboard and brings out the photographs of Dr. Mishra's and Naveen's.

Sitting on her bed she starts checking them out.

Rajveer happens to reach her room at that particular moment to talk to her, opening the door of her room without knocking out of frustration.

This startles Naina. Her heart skips a beat. She quickly hides the photographs behind her. But not before Rajveer's eyes fall on them.

"Sir... aap...",

she says out of shock and surprise, quickly shoving the photographs behind her in between her shirt and skirt.

Rajveer closes the door, never taking his eyes away from her. His face expression changes to serious as he realizes that she is having the photographs.

"Sir... aap yahan pe...",

says Naina, after catching her breath, calmer than before.

Rajveer walks into her room, slowly his eyes glued on to her, all serious.

Very calmly, holding back his anxiety and anger, completely aware that they are to indulge into an argument in moments, because he is very well familiar with Naina's adamant nature, Rajveer extends his right hand forward and asks her,

"Wo photographs mujhe do Naina!"

Naina acts to be innocent, knowing nothing about what he is indicating towards, knitting her brows out of fake surprise and confusion she asks,

"Ahmm... photographs Sir? Ahmm... konsi photographs?"

Rajveer stares towards her belt area, waist area, completely aware where she is hiding the photographs, his eyes dark out of anger and frustration.

"Dimag kharab ho gaya hai tumhara!",

he says, ever so slowly, holding back the volcano of anger and frustration that's bubbling inside him because of Naina's childish nature.

"Akal se kaam lo!",

he scolds her, raising his voice.

Naina's heart skips a beat and she lowers her eyes.

"Kyun nahi samjhti ho Major Bhargava ki ye... wo kuch sabit karna chahte hain... ye sazish hai.",

Rajveer tries to explain her, raising his voice.

"Saazish? Ahmm... aap kya baat kar rahe ho Sir, mujhe kuch samjh mein nahi aa raha.",

Naina acts to be innocent, wanting to get more information from him.

Rajveer realizes that he is wasting his time in explaining her because she already knows and is being stupid enough to not accept the fact. Hence he focuses on the much more important stuff at the moment. Extending his hand, his eyes dark still, out of anger, controlling his anger, hard, he says,

"Naina ye... photographs mujhe do!"

Naina too realizes that there is no good to beat around the bush and hence taking a deep breath, getting serious she comes to the point and states clearly,

"Nahi Sir!"

Rajveer walks towards her slowly. Naina who is standing with her back facing the wall of her room, her rate of heartbeat increases as Rajveer walks towards her out of anger. The anger; the diminishing of the distance between them, altogether make her legs to turn jelly slowly, but she still tries to stand erect not wanting to lose this battle against her Rajveer Sir.

"Academy se expel hone ka irada hai tumhara?",

he asks whilst walking towards her, slowly.

"Wo photographs mujhe do Naina!",

he demands, seriously, trying to keep his anger under control.

Naina who is feeling uncomfortable by his closeness, immediately diverts her mind, looking away she shakes her head into negative.

Looking back towards Rajveer with new determination, Naina states,

"Nahi Sir, wo photographs main apko nahi de sakti!"

"Waise bhi aap to Dr. Mishra se engagement kar rahe thein na. To apko ab inn photographs se kya matlab?",

she accuses him, not looking towards him.

"Aur kaise keh sakti ho tum ye ke mujhe koi matlab nahi inn photographs se? Kya jawab dogi tum faculty members ko agar unhe ye pata chala ke tumhare paas ye photographs hain? Jab tumse wo ye puchenge ke tumhare paas ye photographs kahan se ayin? Kyun ayin? Kya jawab dogi tum?",

scolds Rajveer, raising his voice.

Naina feels all the more uncomfortable. Initially it was for his closeness and now his questions. She just wants to escape from this situation, but alas it seems to be impossible for her at this moment.

"Kya keh sakogi, ke Brigadier Chandok ki warning ke bawajud, tumne apne bhai ke barey mein investigation karna band nahi kiya hai?",

asks Rajveer, scolding her, staring her out of anger.

"Ye photographs mujhe do Naina!",

he asks and commands both at the same time.

Naina gets determined again, yet feels uncomfortable,

"I am sorry Sir main ye pictures apko nahi de sakti!",

she says, her anxiousness increasing, her awkwardness increasing.

Rajveer skips Naina's heartbeat by shouting at her,

"Give me these photographs dammit!"

She has never seen him this angry. It does hurt her but she doesn't have time to pay attention to her feelings at the moment.

"No Sir! Please! Excuse me!",

she states clearly, looking towards him. But his angry glare makes her to lower her eyes immediately.

Naina gets all the more anxious realizing that he won't give up easily, she still has to deal with him.

Rajveer walks closer to her, trying to speak to her calmly again,

"Naina tum please samjhne ki koshish karo!"

He turns a little soft, calming himself down a little to make her understand,

"Agar tumne ye photographs apne paas rakhe to...",

he feels sad even while uttering the further words, concern audible in his voice,

"To tumhe academy se bahar phek diya jayega!",

he doesn't want that at all!

Naina too understands his concern for her.

"Give me the pictures please!",

he says finally, not having anything else to explain her.

Naina takes her hand away, seriously saying,

"Nahi Sir, I am sorry!"

"Naina try to understand! Mera dimag kharab mat karo!",

Rajveer says, getting all the more frustrated, angry.

Naina shakes her head into negative.

Rajveer knowing that she is being adamant moves forth, closer to her and tries to snatch the pictures from where she has shoved them.

"Sir...",

she scolds mildly.

Rajveer stares her frustrated and tries to ask her again,

"Photographs..."

whilst saying further he again takes his hand behind her to take away the photographs from her, adding further,

"Mujhe do!"

Naina who was ready for his move, takes her hand behind her shielding the photographs from him, in the process Rajveer holds her hand. Naina could feel the clenching of her heart at the sudden skin to skin contact with Rajveer, but she chooses to ignore the feeling at the moment. The same happens with Rajveer too, he too chooses to ignore it. His anger overpowers his other emotions, and hence making it easy for him to proceed with taking away the photographs from her.

They stay quiet but wrestles with each other where one tries to take away the photographs and the other tries to save the photographs from him, not wanting to give them away.

In the process Rajveer's face reaches the nape of her neck, her fragrance intoxicates him, suddenly stopping him in his process as his heart skips a beat on realizing in what a position they are! He realizes if anyone happens to reach them at the moment, he or she will surely think all gross things about Rajveer and Naina.

He slowly looks towards Naina, who is already staring at him. This skips the heartbeats of both of them, the moment their eyes meet. Naina quickly lowers her eyes out of hesitation. Rajveer notices how her breath is coming frantically and in an uneven rhythm. He understands he is the reason for that.

"Excuse me Sir!",

she says, her voice low, her eyes cascaded down out of hesitation.

Not in a state to say anything after the last situation he shared with her, with his eyes cascaded down too, he moves away, giving her space to leave. Naina without giving him another glance walks away, leaving him alone in her room.

As she leaves, Rajveer feels all the more frustrated and angry on himself and to vent out his pent up anger, he kicks the wall of Naina's room. Holding his waist from either sides he looks heavenwards out of frustration.

【3】

Reaching back his room out of frustration, he walks towards the window, opening it to let the cool breeze enter the room and calm him down. Standing there, resting his upper arm against the side wall of the window, his lower arms folded against his chest, Rajveer remembers a moment he shared with Naina! He remembers how he went to Naina's room to talk about his engagement with Dr. Mishra but because of the photographs his plan of talking to her about Dr. Mishra and his engagement went on a toss!

*Flashback*

*Flashback ends*

Unable to control his frustration any longer, Rajveer decides that he will confess his feelings to Naina. After the conversation they had about the engagement, he could read her eyes, there is surely something that she feels for him!

Yes, this would be the best option he needs to tell her everything!

A determined Rajveer turns to leave for Naina that suddenly he remembers one conversation that he had with Dr. Shalini once, it succeeds in skipping his heartbeat, arresting him at his place.

*Flashback*

"Apka time over ho gaya hai!",

informs the orderly reaching the solitary confinement.

Getting up from his sleeping position, Captain Rajveer says, almost like mummers,

"Ye bhi bata dete, bura time ya acha!"

"Chalo...",

saying that, he gets up to leave the cell, that Dr. Shalini enters.

Getting surprised, Captain Rajveer asks, creasing his brows,

"Dr. Shalini aap?''

"Hi Captain! Apka kuch regular check up karne ayi hun",

tells Dr. Shailini.

"Kyun?",

asks Captain Rajveer, creasing his brows.

"I am absolutely fine doctor",

smiles Captain Rajveer.

Smiling a little, almost like an apologetical smile, feeling sorry that he had to face the solitary confinement, Dr. Shalini informs,

"Captain it is necessary. Solitary confinement ke baad check up karna zaruri hota hai. It won't take time",

she assures him. Indicating towards the cell, Captain Rajveer asks,

"Yahan par?"

Dr. Shalini smiles a little and nods to a 'yes'!

"Chaliye ayiye baithiye",

smiling, Captain Rajveer invites Dr. Shalini to sit on the slab where he had been resting and himself sits next to her. He notices how serious Dr. Shalini is, of course he doesn't have to guess the reason! It's obvious that she is not liking it, seeing her best friend here in the solitary confinement, who has now got the permission to leave after facing the punishment of coming too late from then mentorship programme with his protegee Cadet Naina Singh.

Captain Rajveer notices that she is tensed. Knowing that he is the reason behind her worries, he tries to make her smile and forget her worries by asking casually,

"bataiye kya lengi aap - chai ya coffee?",

as if she is visiting him to his room than in the solitary confinement.

Smiling at his try to make her feel relaxed, to cheer her up, Dr. Shalini says,

"just your B.P. Captain!"

Captain Rajveer smiles and forwards his arm so that she could measure his BP.

Rajveer reads the measuring as the mercury level goes higher and says out of surprise,

"arey koi roko issey!"

Shaking her head out of disappointment, Dr. Shalini closes her BP machine and says,

"ye sahi signs nahi hai Captain, apko apna khyal rakhna hoga. Apke body jaise work kar rahi hai ussey mujhey ye signals mil rahe hain ki ye sahi nahi hai. Mujhey aisa lag raha hai jaise apke dimag mein koi baat chal rahi hai. It's as if aap koi jung lad rahe hain apne aap se",

Dr. Shalini gets frustrated, unable to bear seeing him like this.

Turning away from her, so that she cannot read his eyes as he lies to her,

"aisi koi baat nahi hai doctor. Main... Main kya soch raha hunga"

"Aisi koi baat nahi hai?",

asks Dr. Shalini, creasing her brows, almost like taunting him.

"Kya main nahi janti Captain ki aap iss waqt kis barey mein soch rahe honge?",

asks Dr. Shalini, getting irritated that he is not talking to her openly.

"Purey academy mein apke aur Cadet Singh ke barey mein jo baatein ho rahi hain...",

she trails off the sentence, shaking her head.

Putting his hands into his trousers' pockets, still turned away from her, he says,

"I think you are right doctor. You don't have to be an Einstein to understand that much!"

"Waise apko kya lagta hai jo sub keh rahe hain wo such hua to?",

asks Captain Rajveer, still not turning to look at her. But this time the reason is entirely different for not looking towards her! He doesn't have the guts to face her, afraid, that she might read his eyes! She might understand what's hidden in his heart.

"To?",

asks Dr. Shalini, knitting her brows, unable to believe that he is actually asking her that!

"It can be disastrous Captain!"

Listening to this Captain Rajveer laughs sarcastically.

"Sirf apke liye hi nahi balki KMA ke liye bhi!",

at this he laughs even more, sarcastically.

His laughing irks Dr. Shalini,

"How... how can you take it so lightly Captain? Aap please jakar subse keh dijiye ki wo jo kuch bhi keh rahe hain unn mein se koi baat such nahi hai!"

His sarcastic laugh turns his eyes teary. Getting serious on listening to Dr. Shalini's last line, he says, his eyes still teary,

"Haan... haan ek baat such nahi hai! Nahi hai such ek baat!"

"Kaunsi baat?",

Naina's voice takes both Captain Rajveer and Dr. Shalini by surprise. They turn to look at her. Naina keeps staring him.

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune begins)

"Cadet Singh! Aap yahan kya kar rahi hain?",

asks Captain Rajveer, creasing his brows. His words reflects his anger towards Naina.

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune continues)

Standing with him, Dr. Shalini notices how Captain Rajveer's whole demeanour changed on seeing Cadet Singh. It didn't escape her eyes how on listening to Naina's voice, for fraction of seconds the vibes of satisfaction ran throughout his body. His otherwise tensed muscles relaxed for that particular moment. But he is back to his normal self - tensed! But for some reason his tension has minimized. Dr. Shalini looks at Naina then back at Captain Rajveer, and finds both of them staring each-other, like two departed souls are meeting each other after having kept away from each other for far too long!

Walking into the cell she says,

"main permission le kar ayi hun",

her eyes not ready to leave his even for fraction of second, she doesn't want to miss anything. Dr. Shalini begins to say something but before she gets time to voice her words, oblivious to her try, Captain Rajveer asks, still staring Naina, raising his voice a little,

"apko kisne diya permission?"

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune continues)

"Mujhey dekhna tha aap theek hain ya nahi!"

"Aap kisi se puch sakti thi! Abhi Dr. Shalini aane hi wali thi bahar, aap unse puch sakti thi!",

scolds Captain Rajveer.

"Maine kaha na mujhey apko dekhna tha!",

replies Naina, with full determination, not ready to lose this argument. Dr. Shalini tries to hide her smile, but of course none of the both present in front of her were aware of her presence any more, so it didn't matter anyways.

Clearing her throat, Dr. Shalini says,

"I am sure Captain, Cadet Singh ko apse baat karni hogi. After all ye punishment sirf apko hi nahi mila, balki Naina ko bhi mila hai!"

Rajveer looks towards Dr. Shalini, knitting his brows, unable to understand why did she say that. Had Naina also got some kind of punishment which he is unaware of? The thought of her getting punished that too when he knows he is partially responsible for their coming late, makes him nervous and tensed!

Oh yes, he could have avoided being late, had he not gone flown away by her presence, by the fact that they were all alone. Of course, of course he didn't do anything which is unacceptable but imagining something, something your heart desires, is it also considered a sin, just like a teacher-student relationship? Hold on, relationship between a teacher and a student? What kind of a relationship is he thinking about? How does it fit with Rajveer-Naina?

Unable to understand how should she react, Dr. Shalini clears her throat to bring back the attention of the both standing with her towards her.

"Ahmm... I think mujhey ab chalna chahiye",

saying that, she looks towards Captain Rajveer then towards Cadet Naina, smiling a little out of politeness, she leaves.

As she leaves, Rajveer looks back towards Naina and turns back to collect his shirt from the slab. Crossing her arms on her chest she asks him,

"kaunsi baat such nahi hai?"

Still busy in collecting his shirt, he says,

"apko aise chup kar kisi ki baatein sunni nahi chahiye Cadet Singh"

"Main chup kar nahi sunn rahi thi, main yahan ayi thi to sunna",

she tells him confidently, raising her voice a little.

"Well I guess main sahi time par aa gayi thi yahan warna...",

she trails off the sentence. Turning to look at her, raising his brows, he provokes her,

"warna?"

Creasing her brows, raising her voice, she asks him again,

"konsi baat such nahi hai?"

"Warna kya Cadet Singh?",

Captain Rajveer asks her back.

Naina turns her face towards left, out of anger.

"Aap mere mentor hain iska matlab ye nahi hai Sir ki apka jab mann karega aap mere saath waise hi behave karenge!",

says Naina out of frustration. Moving a step closer to her, he asks her, looking into her eyes intently,

"kaise behave kia maine Cadet Singh?",

his voice turns soft suddenly. The sudden change in his voice makes Naina to look towards him, they enjoy an eye-lock.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

"Jitna main apko janti hun, aap anyay ka saath kabhi nahi dete. Jhoot, galat ka saath kabhi nahi dete. Fir aaj aapne chup -chap ye punishment kyun accept kia Sir?",

her sudden bold question takes him aback. He keeps staring her out of surprise, out of shock.

(Rajveer-Naina tune continues as they keep staring each other)

Suddenly an orderly comes to inform,

"aap ko Brigadier Chandok ne abhi report karne ko kaha hai".

Lowering her eyes on listening to the orderly's voice, Naina waits for the orderly to leave. As he leaves, Naina stares back at Rajveer. Knowing that he won't answer, Naina shakes her head a little and leaves.

*Flashback ends*

"Kya ho gaya tha mujhe? Kya karne ja raha tha main?",

he asks himself, scolds himself, feeling angry on himself.

*Flashback*

"Ye tumhare haath mein kitab kaisi hai?",

asks Captain Rajveer, walking away from Huda, diverting his mind yet again towards polishing his shooting skills.

Smiling, walking towards Captain Rajveer, Huda lets him know,

"Sir ye... apka wo... hatke wala mission hai!"

Impressed and excited, Captain Rajveer looks towards Huda, who by now is standing in front of him, and says,

"Good! Pura ho gaya?"

"Ji Sir, main wohi apko dene aya tha!",

smiles Huda whilst forwarding his hand, holding the copy, towards Captain Rajveer.

As Captain Rajveer was about to take it, Huda pulls his hand back. Smiling shyly, but looking straight into Captain Rajveer's eyes, like a true 'jatt', Huda asks him,

"Par Sir, mission ki kamiyabi par... jawan ko medal to milega na?"

Laughing lovingly at his Hudagiri, Captain Rajveer turns and walks towards a table whilst saying,

"Cadet Huda agar tumhara matlab 'medal' se hai, ke main tumhare exam mein tumhe zada number de kar tumhe pass kar dun, to t bohot galat soch rahe ho!",

as Captain Rajveer completes with this line, he reaches the table and fills a glass of water for himself.

Smirking, Huda walks towards Captain Rajveer but halts at a certain distance and says,

"Cheating to chichore log karte hain Sir. Main jatt hun; kisaan ka bacha; mehnat se kabhi nahi dara hun!",

completes Huda, reaching a bit more closer to Captain Rajveer.

Captain Rajveer who has drunk the water by now, turns towards Huda and says,

"To yakeen mano cadet, iss mission ke liye tumne jo mehnat ki hai, wo hi tumhara medal hai",

Captain Rajveer pats on Huda's upper arm.

Cadet Huda, forwarding his copy towards Captain Rajveer, smiling, says,

"Bilkul Sir, apne kaha, maine maan lia!"

Captain Rajveer takes the copy from him and opens it to check it out. While Huda continues,

"Lekin ye dil nahi manta Sir!"

With his eyes glued on Huda's copy, Captain Rajveer asks casually,

"Kyun tumhara dil kya chahta hai?"

Folding his arms over his chest, looking straight towards Captain Rajveer, Huda boldly replies,

"Phoolan!"

This comes as a complete surprise for Rajveer! No it is not that he was oblivious to Huda's feelings towards Naina but never had he ever expected Huda to become such straight forward and ask for Naina from him!

Then it is also that he has never thought about Naina being with someone else other than himself! He is fully aware of Huda's flirtatious nature and particularly his flirting with Naina but that's it he knows it is nothing more than innocent teasing and flirting between two friends. And the fact that the flirt is one sided relaxes him all the more! But what he is picturing at this moment after Huda's bold demand from him, makes his heart to skip a beat and beat at a faster pace!

But why is he surprised and disappointed? Is this not what exactly he wanted? Didn't he want Naina to go away from him and be with Huda instead? How can he forget the boxing match? Or was it that he was testing Naina? Testing her feeling towards him. How strong it is, if there is any! Was he trying to push her away from him or pull her closer to him by getting hurt? By accepting Huda's beatings as his punishment? Was it only because he wanted to give Huda the chance to bring out his pent up anger on him or was it also a test for Naina? A test that if she passed would be a win for Rajveer too and if she failed... well, it wouldn't have been a surprise for Rajveer, he would have closed the matter there itself!

But alas... he WON!

"Mera matlab Naina, Sir!",

rectifies Huda, then continues,

"Sir academy mein sirf ek aap hi hain jo Naina ko achi tarah jante hain",

smiles Huda.

Rajveer stares him, shocked. He goes speechless and suddenly feels anxiety. He looks away towards the table in front of him and places the notebook on it, his mind occupied in repeating Huda's words. His heart not ready to accept this! In all he finds himself in a state of dilemma, what should he do now? How can he help Huda? How can he tell him tricks to win Naina's heart? But the main question is why can't he suggest Huda the tricks? Is the teacher of 'Strategies and Communication' facing loss of words? Is it that suddenly he is in need to learn himself what he teaches to all? Or is it the usual affect of Naina on him? But surprisingly this time it is not her presence that's bothering him but rather her mere name uttered by Huda in a way not acceptable to Rajveer. So does that mean that henceforth people should set criteria in which they can take Naina's name in front of Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat? Or is it that the denial persists even in his absence around them? Or may be it is just Huda, who sets his blood into rush when he takes Naina's name that way?

Huda's words,

'Sir academy mein sirf ek aap hi hain jo Naina ko achi tarah jante hain',

were they out of appreciation that he had the guts to talk to Naina without any fear, unlike all the male cadets including Huda; and other male faculty members or were they out of jealousy towards Rajveer that Naina gives so much importance to him, which Huda or anyone other has never received from Naina?

But at this particular moment, he doesn't care to pay heed to which of his thoughts is correct. The main point is asking from him something which is very difficult for Rajveer to give to Huda! Hell, right now he wishes he would have rather asked him for allotting him grace marks rather than this! At least in that case he could have punished him for asking so. But now in this situation, he can't even say a word against him, let alone punish him. What would he say by the way - that he cannot help Huda in winning Naina's heart because...

Because...?? Because what?

"Agar Sir aap... mujhey Phoolan ka dil jeetne ka koi ek tareeka bata de to... baki sub Sir main khud kar lunga!",

requests Huda, politely, smiling, standing behind Rajveer.

Rajveer who acts to check the papers, knits his brows and tries to think of a way to deal with this situation.

(Fast Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

He gets anxious. His heartbeat picks up pace as he fails to understand what should he reply to Huda. Why is he making such a fuss out of it? Come on it's just a mere thing - winning Naina's heart for Huda! Can't Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat do this much? Is it that difficult a job for him? Surely it's not! Or is it that he doesn't want to do it! Of course, of course it's not the case. Why won't he want to do it? What could possibly be the reason behind declining Huda's proposal?

Huda's words drag an anxious and puzzled Rajveer's attention,

"Sir DEAL...",

he asks, forwarding his hand, smiling, looking towards Rajveer with his twinkling eyes. Then continues,

"Ya NO DEAL?"

The question that makes Huda to smile, snatches away Rajveer's happiness!

*Flashback ends*

"Kaise... kaise bhul gaya, ke wo kisi aur ki amanat hai?",

he scolds himself, his heart aching as he says this, thinking about Naina and Huda.

Rubbing off his tears, knowing that he doesn't have time for all this, he decides something!

*******

In her room Dr. Mishra sitting on her arm chair, swinging it, remembers the conversation she had with Naina.

*Flashback*

"Excuse me Ma'am",

calls Naina from behind.

Dr. Mishra turns to look towards MNaina, holding a file in her hand.

"Haan Naina bolo.",

smiles Dr. Mishra.

"Mujhe apse koi bohot zaruri baat karni hai!",

she states, with no smile of pleasure on her face about talking to Dr. Mishra.

"Ahmm... yahan?",

asks Dr. Mishra.

"Mere office mein ja kar baat karni hai?",

suggests Dr. Mishra, politely, yet seriously.

"Abhi, issi waqt, yahin par!",

states Naina in a no nonsense way!

By her tone Dr. Mishra understands that this has to be very serious.

"Theek hai. Bolo.",

says Dr. Mishra politely, eager to know what is it.

Looking straight into Dr. Mishra's eyes, Naina declares instead of asking,

"Ma'am aap Rajveer Sir se engagement nahi kar saktin!"

This comes as a shock for Dr. Mishra!

"KYUNKI MAIN RAJVEER SIR SE PYAR KARTI HUN!",

she states without giving it a second thought. Her demeanor shouts how she really doesn't mean what she is saying. But her words are exact opposite, this confuses Dr. Mishra.

"I am in love with Captain Rajveer!",

she adds further, just to clarify all the more.

Dr. Mishra reads her expression, not a single think justifies what she is wording.

"Kya kaha tumne?",

she asks just to clarify.

"Wohi jo apne sunna!",

states Naina, clearly.

"Naina I think fir humein, mere office mein ja kar baat karni hogi.",

states Dr. Mishra, still shocked.

"Yeah sure! Chaliye!",

says Naina, all serious and determined.

In Dr. Mishra's cabin

"Naina tum ye sub mujhe ab kyun bata rahi ho? Aise! Yun achanak?",

asks Dr. Mishra

"Kyunki main nahi chahti ke aap mere Captain Rajveer se shadi karein!",

states Naina clearly, looking straight into Dr. Mishra's eyes.

"Simple!",

she says.

*Flashback ends*

*******

Next day Rajveer reaches Dr. Shalini's cabin.

"Dr. Shalini!",

he calls, entering her cabin in an urgency, without giving heed to manners of knocking the door.

"Yeah!",

smiles Dr. Shalini.

"Kya main apse baat kar sakta hun?",

he asks in an urgency, standing in front of her desk.

"Of course!",

smiles Dr. Shalini.

All serious, he shows her a ring,

"Ye engagement ring apne mujhe di thi!"

Dr. Shalini looks towards Captain Rajveer, her smile fading as she realizes where is he proceeding towards.

"Isse main wapas lautane ke liye aya hun!",

he states, forwarding the ring to her, looking straight into her eyes.

Dr. Shalini's heart breaks a little. But doesn't really comes as a surprise for her. She had anticipated quite early that this would happen someday.

Accepting it with a broken heart, she asks him,

"Kyun?"

Looking away, turning his face to his right, Captain Rajveer tells her the partial truth,

"Maine kisi se wada kiya hai ke main Dr. Mishra se engagement nahi karunga!"

Dr. Shalini, completely aware about whom is he talking, lowers her eyes and asks him,

"Apne kisse wada kiya hai Captain?",

and looks back towards him.

Captain Rajveer immediately looks towards her, knitting his brows.

He understands she knows it all!

Rajveer doesn't understand why he hesitates to look towards Dr. Shalini's eyes while speaking further, hence he looks away, walking forth such that his back is turned towards Dr. Shalini, he holds the chair's back out of frustration and says,

"Dr. Shalini mujhse Naina ki ye halat dekhi nahi jati."

"Uska dard mujhe sone nahi deta!",

he raises his voice out of frustration.

This line succeeds in skipping Dr. Shalini's heartbeat, nothing came as a big surprise for her though. She looks here and there out of hesitation. Realizing it that whatever she is thinking, whatever she has been thinking since the last few days, it's all true!

"Meri frustration mera gussa banke bahar nikalti hai.",

says Captain Rajveer, frustrated and desperate.

"Main uske liye kuch nahi kar sakta!",

he shouts turning to look towards Dr. Shalini. Scolding himself for his helplessness. He knows he can shower his pent up anger and frustration only in front of Dr. Shalini.

Dr. Shalini stares him serious. She could listen what his frustration is shouting.

"Kuch nahi kar sakta main uske liye!",

he says looking away, all calm yet angry.

"Just feeling so helpless!",

he says calmly yet frustrated.

Dr. Shalini understands that she needs to help him here to make him understand what his heart is indicating towards! His anxiousness is making his eyes to blurr, though not literally!

"Captain apko achi tarah se pata hai ke aap Cadet Singh ke liye kya kar sakte hain...",

she says, with her eyes lowered out of hesitation.

"...aur kya nahi!",

she finishes, itching the back of her neck, a gesture of showing her hesitation.

She understands that he would understand what she is indicating towards!

Rajveer tries to think of a way to get out of the chaos but finds no way out.

"Aur waise bhi... Ritu ji se engagement tod kar aap... Cadet Singh ke liye kya kar lenge?",

asks Dr. Shalini, looking towards Captain Rajveer.

"I know... that!!",

Captain Rajveer raises his voice out of frustration, turning to look towards Dr. Shalini.

He understands that he is raising his voice, but he doesn't make any effort for being polite, because he knows with Dr. Shalini, he doesn't have to fake. He can be him and she won't mind. He doesn't have to show courtesy always, this is what their friendship is like, he knows it very well! She knows it very well!

"Lekin main...",

he says looking towards Dr. Shalini, hesitanting to say that, looking away he says,

"Main Dr. Ritu se..."

He realizes he needs to say it clearly looking straight into Dr. Shalini's eyes to make it clear that he is not hesitating to state that. This he is clearing not only to Dr. Shalini but to himself too!

"I just DON'T love her!",

he states clearly, calmly, with not any hint of confusion and Dr. Shalini reads that well!

It does hurt Dr. Shalini and why won't it when she had stayed rooted to this pair since the beginning! Despite knowing what Captain Rajveer would say sooner or later, she looks hurt and shocked!

And not only that, his words also make her belief about his feelings for Naina, stronger!

Lowering his eyes as it hurts him to see the expression of hurt and sadness on Dr. Shalini's face, he gives her time to accept the truth.

"Main sirf unka ehsaanmand hun aur shayad isiliye...",

he states looking towards Dr. Shalini.

A shocked Dr. Shalini who had been staring him without blinking her eyes since the moment he declared that he doesn't love Dr. Mishra, finally lowers her eyes out of hesitation when Captain Rajveer looks towards her.

Anxious and frustrated, Captain Rajveer takes his seat in front of her, resting his elbow on her desk and massaging his forehead which has started aching out of thinking too much, he asks Dr. Shalini, his eyes closed,

"Go on Dr. Shalini..."

"Aur... Brigadier Chandok se kya kahenge?",

asks Dr. Shalini.

Captain Rajveer shoots up at her, glaring her, his anger is on Brigadier Chandok if he dares to do anything, than towards Dr. Shalini and asks, out of anger,

"Kya kar lenge wo?"

"Zyada se zyada meri posting karadenge na?",

he adds further still frustrated.

"Hone dijiye!",

he says, shaking his head a little out of frustration, indicating that he doesn't care a wee bit!

"Are you ready for that Captain?",

Dr. Shalini asks politely, tilting her head a little towards left, still standing.

Captain Rajveer looks up towards Dr. Shalini, still maintaining the same posture, such that his forehead creases when he looks up towards her.

Getting anxious he gets up turning away from her.

"Captain... aap yahan par students ko parhane ke liye aye thein!",

Dr. Shalini tries to put brain into him as she understands that frustration and anger are taking a toll on him. He needs a friend; a guide.

"And I don't think your job is done.",

Captain Rajveer ponders into her words as he finds her words always worth pondering upon and hence he is here, to seek her suggestion.

"You have to make a... a strong batch of soldiers Captain!",

Dr. Shalini's these words touch his heart, he looks up to her, considering her words seriously.

"Mujhe lagta hai ke... apko... Dr. Ritu ko saaf saaf keh dena chahiye!",

she states lowering her eyes, out of hesitation.

By now Captain Rajveer too has lowered his eyes.

"Tell her the truth!",

she states clearly, knitting her brows.

"Main unse keh chuka hun ki main unse...",

he says looking towards Dr. Shalini. He pauses taking his time, as he feels bad that he has hurt Dr. Mishra. Hurting someone, other than an enemy, traitor, is not in his nature.

"Pyar nahi karta hun!",

stating that he quickly looks away not wanting to see her reaction to his words. His heart beating at an alarming rate out anxiety.

Dr. Shalini does get hurt and lowers her eyes.

"Lekin wo mujhse pyar karti hain!",

he states, walking ahead.

"No Captain!",

Dr. Shalini says immediately, looking towards Captain Rajveer, realizing that he mistook her.

"Mera matlab tha ki aap...",

she says, tilting her head a little towards right, looking towards him.

Then lowering her eyes out of hesitation, she completes her line,

"Apko... Dr. Ritu se keh dena chahiye ki aap..."

Taking a deep breath she continues,

"Cadet Singh se pyar karte hain!"

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. He turns to look towards her, shocked. His right hand holding the chair in front of him, his left hand resting on his waist.

He stares her. How does she manage to do it each time - understand him so well? Speak her heart out in front of him with such ease? Something even he cannot do to himself!

Dr. Shalini doesn't look away, because she knows she hasn't mistaken! Smiling a little, politely.

Rajveer gets anxious and feels awkward in front of her, both at the same time. Taking deep breath out of anxiety, he turns towards her and holds the chair in front of him with both his hands, still not looking towards her. Finally he looks towards her. His brows knitted lightly radiating his awkwardness, tension and surprise on hearing her. His cheeks warm up as if he has got caught red handed while doing something wrong!

Dr. Shalini lowers her eyes, feeling awkward herself, but she had to say this because she cares for him.

Walking away to his right, considering her suggestion, Rajveer says,

"Shayad mujhe aisa hi karna chahiye."

"Inn haalat mein main academy nahi chor sakta!",

he states.

"Main kisi ko dhokha nahi dena chahta!",

he says. He understands that Dr. Shalini would understand his double meaning behind his words. First that he doesn't want to betray Dr. Mishra's trust by faking his love for her and second he doesn't want to betray Naina's trust in him. The trust she shows in him, taking him as her mentor, teacher. He knows or rather fears that if he conveys his true feelings to her, he would shatter her trust in him. He knows she doesn't love him and he is content with the fact that he is important to her as a mentor; as a friend may be. And he is not expecting much from her.

"Khudko bhi nahi!",

he adds this too and hence completing the triangle Ritu-Rajveer-Naina!

"Hmm...",

says Dr. Shalini, thinking, sadly.

"I understand Captain!",

she adds, still sad, not looking towards him.

"Dr. Shalini!",

he looks towards her, taking a deep breath, clearing his mind.

Both mature enough to understand what got exchanged between then without wording it clearly!

Dr. Shalini immediately looks towards him.

"Apne mujhe mera maksad kya hai iss baat ka ehsaas kara diya.",

he states looking straight into her eyes, his hands holding both the chairs in front of him.

Dr. Shalini lowers her eyes hearing that. Captain Rajveer follows the suit.

"Meri...priorities kya honi chahiye... ye bhi sikha diya!",

he states slowly, clearly, looking towards her hesitantly.

Dr. Shalini bows her head out of hesitation, smiling a little.

"Thanks a lot.",

he conveys his gratitude.

Dr. Shalini smiles.

Captain Rajveer leaves.

*******

Walking out of Dr. Shalini's cabin, Rajveer walks through the corridor, thinking about the step he took, calling off the engagement with Dr. Mishra.

He happens to meet Naina at the corridor coming from the opposite direction, she herself was in deep thoughts that her heartbeat too skips seeing him just like Rajveer's had skipped on seeing her.

(Rajveer-Naina slow guitar tune begins)

They walk towards each other slowly, staring each other throughout.

Naina looks towards his hand, his ring finger, expectantly.

Rajveer follows her vision then slowly looks towards her to know her reaction.

A silent sigh of relief she takes that doesn't go unnoticed by Rajveer. Rajveer's heart clenches on hearing that. He craves to embrace her into a warm hug especially after hearing Dr. Shalini's words.

Dr. Mishra happens to reach them at that particular moment from Rajveer's behind.

Naina and Rajveer turn to look towards Dr. Mishra.

Rajveer though stays calm but Naina knits her brows, narrowing her eyes on to Dr. Mishra, as fresh anger envelopes her heart.

Shivers run down Rajveer's spine as he remembers Naina's words...

'Nahi Sir wo... pata nahi mujhe kya ho gaya tha! Main bohot gusse mein thi aur jaise hi maine Ritu Ma'am ko corridor mein dekha, maine unko jakar keh diya ke aap unse engagement nahi karenge, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!'

Shivers run down Dr. Mishra's spine as she too remembers Naina's words...

'Ma'am aap Rajveer Sir se engagement nahi kar saktin! KYUNKI MAIN RAJVEER SIR SE PYAR KARTI HUN!'

Rajveer then remembers Dr. Shalini's words...

'Apko... Dr. Ritu se keh dena chahiye ki aap... Cadet Singh se pyar karte hain!'

Naina remembers Rajveer's words...

'Tum dushman se puch rahi ho ki apne gunah ka certificate de.'

"Captain, can I have a word with you, privately?",

asks Dr. Mishra, emphasizing on 'privately', looking towards Naina.

This irks Naina. Glaring Dr. Mishra she waits for Rajveer to decline her proposal.

"Sure Dr. Mishra!",

says Rajveer, taking Naina by surprise.

Rajveer turns his face a little towards Naina to know her reaction but doesn't look directly towards her.

All this adds into Naina's frustration.

She realizes that she herself has to stop all this from happening.

As Rajveer walks forth to go along with Dr. Mishra, Naina quickly comes to a decision and without giving it a second thought, she walks to Rajveer, wrapping her arms around his arm, with her face turned towards Dr. Mishra and her eyes filled with rage, she says,

"Mujhe bhi Rajveer Sir se kuch baat karni hai, akele mein!"

Her yet another bold step that too in front of Dr. Mishra comes as a shock for Rajveer. He looks towards Naina, shocked.

Dr. Mishra glares her.

Naina adds further, staring straight into Dr. Mishra's eyes,

"Aur waise bhi since humara rishta abhi abhi bandha hai, to abhi I am sure mere paas zyada baatein hongi inse karne ke liye."

Ritu's rate of heartbeat picks up pace out of anger. Her brows knit together. Her eyes glaring Naina.

Naina ignores all that and continues with full confidence,

"Aur kyunki ab apka aur Rajveer Sir ka rishta raha hi nahi...",

she pauses to make her realize the fact that it us indeed over between Rajveer and Ritu.

Dr. Mishra's blood boils.

Rajveer too gets shocked on hearing that. He stares Naina, shocked!

"To I am sure aap dono ke beech an kuch nahi hai baat karne ko!",

saying so Naina keeps glaring Ritu.

Rajveer converts his hand into fist. His face straight out of anger. Neither can he go against Naina; nor can he tolerate this. His anger on Naina reaches heights.

Glaring Naina, Ritu turns to look towards Rajveer and says,

"Maine kabhi nahi socha tha Captain ke apki choice aisi impulsive, nasamajh ladki hogi. I must say I am disappointed Captain!"

Naina knits her brows tighter glaring her. Ritu smirks staring Rajveer.

Her words pinch Rajveer. Irk him.

"I beg to differ here Dr. Mishra!",

smiles Captain Rajveer, infectiously.

"Isse impulsiveness nahi possessiveness kehte hain!",

smiles Captain Rajveer.

Naina stares him shocked.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

Ritu glares them both. Naina turns towards Ritu to know her reaction to it. She straightens up, smiling, looking directly into Dr. Mishra's eyes.

Feeling humiliated, glaring Rajveer and Naina for the last time Dr. Mishra leaves.

*******

As Dr. Mishra leaves, Rajveer glares Naina. Holding her hand tightly, he drags her to his room. Pulling her in he leaves her, turning he shuts the door, bolting it.

Turning to look at her, glaring her, he shouts at her,

"Kya tha ye Naina?",

indicating towards the door.

Naina looks away towards her left, not wanting to answer.

"Answer me!",

he shouts.

This skips Naina's heartbeat. She lowers her eyes. Slowly she looks towards him again, afraid of his anger.

"Mujhe jo sahi laga maine wohi kiya.",

she says, lowering her eyes immediately.

"Yun... aise... unke samne mere paas ana, tumhe sahi laga Naina?",

scolds Rajveer, glaring her.

This hurts Naina why, she fails to understand. Afterall they are just pretending... no wait, she is just pretending isn't it? So why such effect of his words on her?

"Mujhe unhe yakeen dilana tha that we are together!",

she states, keeping her eyes lowered.

"Aur tum aise yakeen dilati ho?",

shouts Rajveer.

"Why do you care?",

asks Naina, knitting her brows, staring him.

"Bura lag raha hai apko, ke apki Dr. Mishra apse durr ho rahi hain?",

asks Naina out of anger.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. He didn't realize his saying so would sound like that.

Staring her, his voice turned softer out of guilt,

"Stop it Naina. You know I didn't mean that."

"So what did you mean Sir? Aap kyun iss tarah se react kar rahe hain fir?",

asks Naina, raising her voice.

Raising his voice, looking towards Naina, Rajveer asks,

"So kya chahti ho tum? Main subke samne jakar ye kehta firun ke main Naina se pyar karta hun?"

This skips Naina's heartbeat. She stares him shocked. Her cheeks warming up as she keeps repeating his words in her mind.

Rajveer's heartbeat skips too as he realizes what he said.

Rajveer then focuses on Naina's reaction. She looks shocked initially. Gradually she starts feeling awkward as she realizes that this is her teacher with whom she is being linked with! She lowers her eyes gradually.

Rajveer turns his voice low yet demanding.

"Batao Naina, ye chahti ho tum?",

asks Rajveer.

"Jis determination; jis confidence ke saath tumne Dr. Mishra ke samne ye kaha... agar ye baat subke samne aa gayi to kya tum ussi confidence ke saath; mera haath pakad kar; subki ankhon mein ankhein daal kar ye baat accept kar paogi ki tum mujhse pyar karti ho?",

asks Rajveer.

Shivers run down Naina's spine as for the second time she gets bound to think that way.

Rajveer keeps staring her, knitting his brows, anger gradually surges through him as he remembers the effect of the speculation on Naina.

"Arey kehna to durr, tum dusro ke samne mujhse baat karne se bhi katraogi!",

says Rajveer, spitting venom through his each word.

"Main katraungi?",

asks Naina, shocked.

Rajveer looks away, frustrated.

"I beg your pardon Sir, par katraungi main nahi, katrayenge aap. In fact iss waqt bhi aap wohi kar rahe hain. Ab jabki humare saath koi nahi hai. Katra aap rahe hain meri taraf dekhne se!",

scolds Naina, out of frustration.

This comes as a shock for Rajveer. He turns to look towards Naina, knitting his brows.

"Cadet Singh you are crossing your limits!",

scolds Rajveer, staring her out of anger.

His words pierce her heart. Limit? Where did this word come from between them?

Naina stares him with knitted brows, fathoming his
words. Rajveer lowers his eyes feeling guilty of having said that, he just wanted to control her, but didn't realize he himself has crossed the so called 'limits' between them!

With a new determination, smiling sadly, Naina looking straight into Rajveer's eyes says,

"Thank you Sir!"

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. Why is she thanking him? He stares her with knitted brows.

"Ek pal ke liye main ye bhool gayi thi ki ye sub 'natak' hai.",

she taunts, looking straight into his eyes, emphasizing on the word 'natak'.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat. He realizes he has hurt her.

"Naina...",

he begins to explain, but trails off wondering what to say.

Anger surges through her afresh. Pointing her index finger towards Rajveer; her eyes blazing with anger for Dr. Mishra, she warns him,

"Par ye baat aap yaad rakhna ke main Dr. Mishra ko apki zindagi ke saath khelne nahi dungi!"

Her words instead of getting him angry, clenches his heart out of affection for her. Her possessiveness towards himself, touches his heart.

"Naina...",

Rajveer tries to explain.

"Excuse me Sir!",

she says strictly, asking him to give her way to leave. She knows he would start explaining her again, his tone shouts so. But she doesn't want that. She doesn't want to understand anything!

They stare each other, Naina adamantly and Rajveer helplessly. Helplessly Rajveer gives her way to leave. She walks away. Reaching the door, she turns again with full confidence, and says,

"Aur haan... main taiyar hun!"

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. For a moment it felt to him as if she is indirectly saying a 'yes' to his silent proposal. He looks towards her, shocked. Naina's heart skips a beat on realizing the look. She quickly rectifies, turning soft out of hesitation,

"Main taiyar hun academy ke logo ko face karne ke liye Sir. It would be better ke aap bhi ho jaiyein!"

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins as they stare each other all serious)

Finally she turns and leaves.

BILY 【4】

Naina leaves, leaving behind Rajveer with a lot to think!!!

*Flashback*

Crossing her arms, Dr. Mishra says,

"You know Captain, mere experience ne mujhey ek baat sikhayi hai, soch-samajh kar diye hue jawab humesha such lagte hain, lekin sachey hotey nahi, wo dimag ka haal batate hain. Suchey jawab jo dil se diye jatey hain wo humesha suchey nahi lagte lekin suchey hotey hain. Kyunki wo dil ka haal batate hain. Suchey jawab jo dil se diye jatey hain wo humesha suchey nahi lagte lekin suchey hote hain. Kyunki wo dil ka haal batate hain".

Smirking, he says,

"To?"

"Bohot simple si observation hai Captain,... you are in love!",

declares Dr. Mishra, casually. Rajveer remains quiet and keeps staring her.

On the other hand, Naina searches for Rajveer in the forest.

Throwing the logs on the floor and smiling, Rajveer says,

"I am in love! Love! Interesting!"

Then putting his hands inside his jeans' pockets, Captain Rajveer moves forward, crossing Dr. Mishra. He rests his right hand on the trunk of the tree in front, his left hand inside his jeans' pocket.

He repeats,

"I am in love. Lekin kiske saath? Aakhir kar kon hai mere aas-paas? Dr... Shalini ke saath? Lekin wo to date pe Yudi ke saath gayi theen. Lekin ho sakta hai ki wo date par mere saath jana chahti hoon aur mujhse keh na payi hon?",

saying this he turns to look at Dr. Mishra, then laughs a little, at his own joke,

"Just joking!",

he says looking ahead.

"Ahmm... unke alawa jo mere ird-gird hain wo hain",

then he thinks and says,

"Cadet... Pooja Ghai?",

then he turns towards Dr. Mishra and says,

"Lekin Cadet Pooja Ghai...",

turning back again,

"Ko to khud kisi ke connection ka intezaar hai"

"Aur agar le-de ke koi bachta hai to... wo hai Cadet...",

lowering his eyes and playing with his nails out of utter shyness, he completes,

"Cadet Singh! Cadet Naina Singh!"

Blushing more, he says, lowering his voice,

"Par wo mujhey kyun pyar karengi? Mujh jaise complicated insaan se?"

*Flashback ends*

Dr. Mishra reaches Naina and dictates her her story about hers and Naveen's relationship, realizing that Naina has discovered about Naveen and Ritu's relationship.

*******

*Flashback*

Rajveer reaches an empty mess that suddenly his eyes fall on the only cadet sitting there. Though her back is turned towards him but how can he go wrong at recognizing his Cadet Naina Ah Singh?

He understands that they are not in talking terms. But how can he leave her alone when he is completely aware that she is upset?

Checking out the time, shoving his hands into his trousers' pockets, Rajveer slowly walks to Naina, startling her by saying,

"Cadet Singh apko... drill ke liye report karna hai."

She turns to look towards him expectantly. But the moment she turns, Rajveer looks away, turning he starts to walk away that Naina calls him,

"Sir..."

Rajveer doesn't turn to look towards her but stops. Naina gets up and walks to him and asks him,

"Sir kya jo Dr. Ritu keh rahi hain wo such hai?"

Rajveer turns to look towards her, all serious and says,

"Haan shayad such hi hai.",

and walks across her. Resting his left hand on one of the table, he listens to her, his back turned to her.

"Yani, apse wo baat kar kar mere paas ayin theen?",

she asks, politely.

"Ya... apne unko mere paas bheja?",

she asks, doubting the second option to be the fact.

Rajveer turns his head a little towards his right, his eyes staring the floor, a gesture that she is right! Taking a deep breath he shoves his right hand into his trousers' pocket feeling awkward.

Naina sighs and walks forth understanding that he had sent Dr. Mishra to her.

"Sir yakeen nahi hota... ke past aur present iss tarah yun mere samne aakar khade ho jayenge!",

she says, walking forth, away from him.

Rajveer keeps his eyes lowered, hearing her. Her each word piercing his heart.

"Mujhe bhi aisa hi lagta hai Cadet Singh!",

he says ever so slowly. His eyes filled with tears.

"Naveen bhaiya academy ke best cadet thein!",

she says, sadly.

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina, whose back is turned towards him.

"Lekin wo... shayad har cheez mein apse haar gayein!",

she says, walking ahead, changing her place, thinking deeply.

Her words hurt Rajveer not because he felt humiliated but because he realizes that she doesn't know anything! To him her words sounded meaningless! Rajveer lowers his eyes, looks away. His eyes at the verge of having tears.

"Shayad... bhaiya ne jis tarah se chaha hoga... na to wo uss tarah se desh ko serve kar payein; na hi academy ko!",

says Naina, holding her tears.

Rajveer holds his emotions too. Despite having so much to tell to her, he fails to understand what should he say to her.

"Aur yahan tak ki... yahan tak ki unki girlfriend bhi ab... apke saath hai!"

Her words skip Rajveer's heartbeat. He immediately looks towards her and slowly looks away. How can he make her understand the truth? How big a fool is she to think that way! What a bad fate he possesses that he cannot even tell her the truth that he isn't with Dr. Mishra out of love for her; but out of love for his motherland. He is with her out of the responsibility towards his motherland. He is with her not out of love for Dr. Mishra but out of love for Naina! And also for his love and duty towards his best friend Naveen. Because he can do anything and everything for Naveen and Naina!

A lump forms in his throat. He looks away, holding his emotions. His cheeks warm up as he finds himself in a helpless situation.

Naina whose back is turned towards him fails to read his expressions.

"Shayad ye jaan kar Bhaiya ko khushi bhi ho rahi ho...",

she turns to look towards Rajveer who is turned towards his left, his eyes cascaded down, holding back his tears. His face red and hot out of blush. Blushed not out of happiness but out of guilt, guilt that he cannot tell her the truth; his true feelings for her. Out of awkwardness of the situation, where he knows a lot about his feelings for her and she... absolutely clueless! In fact naive to all these feelings that he bears for her in his heart.

"Ki wo harey bhi to apne best friend se hi!",

she completes before she pays attention to his expression.

Rajveer on realizing that she has completed her saying and is looking towards him, looks up in front of him to control his tears from spilling out. His eyes red as he holds massive amount of emotions in his eyes. Emotions that Naina's word made him to feel. Emotions that Naina is completely unaware of.

Naina's heart skips a beat on realizing his situation. She could read that he is hurt because of her words. His eyes, she didn't fail to notice are going red out of controlling his emotions way too much. She feels guilty for having got flowen away and said more than was required may be as a result hurting him.

"Sir... mera matlab...",

she begins to explain, not liking the fact that he is hurt.

Rajveer understands that she didn't mean to hurt him. He intervenes knowing that she is feeling guilty; and not wanting her to feel guilty, looking straight into her eyes,

"It's alright Cadet Singh."

Rajveer and Naina stare. He quickly lowers his eyes knowing that he might end up crying if he stares her for long.

"I completely understand.",

he says, his eyes still moist.

Naina lowers her eyes, feeling guilty.

"In fact main aur Dr. Mishra to iss barey mein baat bhi kar chukey hain.",

he lies, looking away.

He lies because he wants her to get satisfied that she hasn't hurt her by saying all that. He knows that she is feeling guilty about hurting him and he by any means would force her to shed her guilt by doing whatever he can, this lie is just that one small try!

He keeps his eyes lowered. Naina too keeps her eyes lowered.

Rajveer realizes that he needs to get her out of this guilt. He slowly looks towards her. Her eyes still cascaded down.

He walks to her, all serious. Holding her by her shoulders, with no romantic feeling attached to it but only care and concern, he looks towards her and says,

"Naina main achi tarah samjh sakta hun."

He leaves her and shoves his hand into his pockets. Staring her throughout he explains her,

"Zindagi mein jis such ko hum log... sub kuch bhula kar, sub kuch chor kar dhundh rahe hote hain.... jab achanak wo humare samne aakar khada ho jata hai..."

Naina looks towards him, her eyes turned teary too.

Rajveer staring her still tells her,

"Na to dil usse apnata hai aur...",

he lowers his eyes, trying to control the feelings of frustration bubbling inside him,

"Na hi dimag uss par yakeen...",

he takes a deep breath, controlling his emotions.

"Kar pata hai!",

he completes, sighing.

Naina stares him serious and lowers her eyes.

"Dr. Mishra se baat karne ke baad, shayad tum bhi ussi daur se guzar rahi ho.",

he looks towards her.

Naina lowers her eyes immediately.

"Zahir si baat hai ke tum... upset bhi ho!",

he says, understanding her situation, looking towards her.

Naina takes a deep breath, looking heavenwards, trying to control her emotions.

"Aur fir... pichle kuch dino se...",

says Rajveer, looking away out of guilt.

"Jis tarah se main tumhare saath pesh aa raha hun...",

he says, still not looking towards her.

Naina slowly looks towards him, trying to gauge his reaction while speaking these lines.

"Tumhe usse bhi takleef ho rahi hai!",

he says looking towards her.

His eyes possessive towards her. Naina's heart skips a beat on reading his eyes. Her skin turns warm as she realizes he does notice and understand!

Rajveer stares her, his feelings for her increase all the more as he realizes how she is enduring his rough treatment without any complain.

She lowers her eyes out of hesitation.

"Main sirf itna keh sakta hun Cadet Singh...",

he says looking towards her, addressing her as Cadet Singh on purpose, just to mind his feelings which are threatening to explode in front of her.

"Meri uss berukhi ke liye, mujhe maaf kar dena.",

he completes, lowering his eyes, not having courage to stare her when he is apologizing, as he drowns all the more into the pool of guilt.

This comes as a surprise for Naina. But she feels good too. Good not because he is apologizing but because she realizes that at least he cares! At least he understands what she went through.

"Maafi mangne ki koi zarurat nahi hai Sir!",

she says politely, looking towards him but Rajveer doesn't look towards her out of awkwardness; out of guilt.

"Waise bhi... mujhe aur meri family ko... adat si parh gayi hai!",

she says, looking ahead of her.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat and he turns to look towards her, shocked. He looks away, controlling his tears, takes a silent deep breath, controlling his emotions.

Walking across her to his left, he rests his hand on the side table, his back facing her back, still holding his emotions, he says tilting his head a little towards his left,

"Cadet Singh main nahi janta... Dr. Mishra hi Naveen ke saath jo hua uske liye zimmedar hain ya nahi."

Naina turns to look towards him, knitting her brows.

"Naveen ka mukadma bohot hi complicated tha. Aaj bhi aise khule sirey hain jinhe main ab tak nahi bandh paya hun.",

he tells.

Naina listens to him attentively, knitting her brows.

Lowering his eyes for fraction of seconds, he again looks in front and continues,

"Haan agar kuch samjha to bus itna ki..."

"Humara guzra hua jo kal hota hai usse hum aj nahi badal sakte!",

he says sadly.

He lowers his eyes, considering the further words he is about to say, a bit hesitant as he knows how his words can affect Naina and himself too. Because what he is about to say it's straight from his heart and he wants it to reach her heart.

He turns to look towards her and says,

"Tum keh rahi thi na...",

he looks back towards his front and continues,

"Ki main har mamle mein Naveen se agey tha?"

Naina lowers her eyes.

Lowering his eyes, taking a silent breath, Rajveer rests his right hand on the table and the left hand he rests on his waist and says,

"Lekin janti ho Naveen humesha se mujhse kayi zyada khushkismat insaan raha hai."

This makes Naina to look towards him, wondering what made him to say that!

"Uske paas aaj bhi wo cheez hai jisse main chah kar bhi kabhi nahi pa paunga!",

he says.

Naina although gets curious to know what could it be, but she at that moment fails to understand the depth of his feelings while uttering those words. His voice was calm yet attractive. Attractive because it bore pain and disappointment in himself.

"Kya Sir?",

she asks slowly, curiously though. Her brows slightly knitted. Deep down she makes up her mind whatever it would be, she would bring it for him giving all her effort to gain it for him. She just needs to know what it is!

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina. His eyes possessive on her. Naina's heart skips a beat. It feels as if his eyes are demanding something from her. Indicating her something, but what, she fails to understand! And it makes her all the more curious.

As for Rajveer, her asking 'kya' skips his heartbeat. This mere word of hers gives him hope! Hope, that may be after all this time, Naina would be able to understand his feelings for her. She might finally be able to understand his silent desire!

And with that hope, he finally gives his luck a try...

"Tumhara vishwas!",

he says, staring straight into her eyes. He keeps staring her to read her expression. To understand that did she manage to understand what he tried to convey to her?

(Slow Rajveer-Naina mouthorgan tune begins)

As for Naina her heart skips a beat. Does it matter to him this much - her trust in him? Shivers run down her spine as she thinks about it. Why didn't he ever say that? Why didn't she read him properly? Why did she fail to see this side of his? This aspect of his?

Something does change between them at that particular moment.

Naina feels uncomfortable while staring him yet she feels a certain kind of comfort in this uncomfortable zone.

"Naveen mein tumhara vishwas, uske liye tumhara pyar... aaj bhi kayam hai.",

he states walking to another chair across her, resting his hand on it's back.

Naina turns to look towards him, hearing him, all serious.

Smirking sadly, he says,

"To wo hua na mujhse zyada khushkismat?"

"Apko aisa kyun lagta hai ke Sir main par vishwas nahi karti?",

she asks, not able to tolerate seeing him this way!

Walking ahead, standing to his opposite side, all serious, looking in front of her, she tells him,

"Sir mere liye mera mission bohot important hai."

She turns to look towards him and says,

"Aur mere liye iss academy mein rehna usse bhi zyada important."

Rajveer tilts his head a little towards her but doesn't turn completely towards her.

Remembering something, looking ahead, she says sadly,

"Guzre hue kal ko to hum badal nahi sakte Sir."

She then turns back towards him and says,

"Lekin ussi guzre hue kal ne humara aaj badal diya."

Rajveer realizes how true is that!

"Apka! Mera! Aur ab Dr. Ritu ka bhi!",

adds Naina.

Rajveer listens to her silently. Pondering into her each word.

Naina remembers something, although feeling a little awkward, knowing that she would sound selfish, but she says it anyways, hesitantly, lowering her eyes, she needs to say that, only then will she feel relieved,

"Sir bhale main apna Mentor kisi se share na karna chahun..."

This drags Rajveer's attention, but he doesn't turn to look towards her.

"Par maine apne selfish motive ke liye apke raste mein kabhi nahi aungi.",

she says, looking hesitantly and expectedly towards him.

Rajveer finally looks towards her. In front his eyes, he sees a matured Naina. But he doesn't understand why her maturity hurts him! How could she think that she would ever be seen as a hurdle in his life? Once again, she failed to understand him!

How would he live without her constant nagging?

"Main janti hun... aap jo bhi kuch kar rahe hain... mere ache ke liye kar rahe hain.",

says Naina, looking towards him.

Rajveer sees her, controlling the whirpool of emotions rising inside him.

"Ahmm... mujhe ab chalna chahiye. I'll see you.",

saying so Naina leaves, leaving behind Rajveer to think about the conversation they had just now.

*Flashback ends*

Rajveer takes a deep breath.

'Main taiyar hun academy ke logo ko face karne ke liye Sir. It would be better ke aap bhi ho jaiyein!'

He remembers her words.

"Ye itna aasan nahi hai Naina! Ye itna aasan nahi hai!",

mummers Rajveer, knitting his brows.

(Rajveer-Naina revolt tune begins)

●●●●●

Dr. Mishra reaches Naina's room, surprising her, but not pleasantly.

"Kya main ander aa sakti hun Naina?",

asks Dr. Mishra, politely.

Staring her with knitted brows, Naina opens the door wide for her and Dr. Mishra walks into her room.

"I am sorry Naina ke main tumhe... main tumhe disturb kar rahi hun.",

says Dr. Mishra, politely looking towards Naina.

"Lekin haan, ek bohot zaruri baat karni hai!",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina tries to control her anger and frustration. She looks away, crossing her arms over her chest.

Dr. Mishra walks forth, crossing her, and says,

"Dekho Naina main janti hun ke tum na to chahti ho main iss academy mein rahun aur na hi tumhari life mein."

Naina looks towards Dr. Mishra, Naina's brows knitted.

"Lekin unfortunately, mera yahan hona bohot zaruri hai!",

says Dr. Mishra, her back turned towards Naina.

Naina looks towards Dr. Mishra, with knitted brows.

"Especially Captain Rajveer...",

saying so she turns to look towards Naina.

Naina looks towards her with knitted brows.

"Captain Rajveer ki reputation ke liye. Humari engagement hona bohot zaruri hai.",

says Dr. Mishra, politely, turning to look towards Naina.

Naina feels anxious on hearing that.

"Dekho... Naina ek simple solution hai. Think about it.",

saying so Dr. Mishra walks towards Naina.

Naina keeps her eyes lowered thinking about how to get out of this chaos. How she and her Rajveer Sir both escape from this chaos?

Walking to her Dr. Mishra says,

"Isse tum ek agreement hi samjh lo!"

Naina turns to look towards her, puzzled.

"Main Captain Rajveer se engage ho jaungi!",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina's heart skips a beat, she glares Dr. Mishra.

Gauging her reaction, Dr. Mishra quickly adds,

"Lekin... fir main iss academy ko chor kar chali jaungi."

"Kahin aur posting le lungi main.",

she assures her.

Naina looks away, as if not much interested in her talks.

"Aur uske baad Captain ye announce kar denge ke humari engagement tut gayi hai kyunki humari jamti nahi thi, we just didn't get along.",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina stares her, all serious and angry but considering her words.

"Dekho Naina aisa karne se, sub kuch theek ho jayega. Issi mein hum subki bhalayi hai.",

says Dr. Mishra.

"Hum subki zindagi firse normal ho sakti hai. Captain Rajveer ki reputation bachh sakti hai.",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina starts pondering into her words, considering them.

"And Naina I believe sirf tum hi ho jo Captain ko samjha sakti ho.",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina looks away. The mere thought that she would talk to Captain Rajveer to get engaged to someone, makes her feel nausea.

"Unhe convince kar sakti ho ki iss agreement ke liye wo haan kar dein.",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina feels anxious.

"I trust you!",

says Dr. Mishra.

That skips Naina's heartbeat she immediately looks towards Dr. Mishra, glaring her.

"Naina tumhare liye Captain Rajveer ne aaj tak kya kuch nahi kiya!",

reminds Dr. Mishra.

"Tumhare liye academy ke khilaf kitni baar wo khade bhi hue!",

says Dr. Mishra, walking behind Naina.

Naina fails to notice the anger in Dr. Mishra's eyes while speaking out those words.

"Yahan tak ki jab Major Bhargava ne jhoote ilzaam lagaye tum par, tumhari reputation ko bachane ke liye, Captain iss academy ko chor kar jane ke liye taiyar bhi ho gayein.",

reminds Dr. Mishra.

Her words, have their effect on her. Naina realizes how much Rajveer has done for her.

"Kya tum Captain Rajveer ki reputation ke liye, itna nahi kar sakti ho?",

asks Dr. Mishra.

Naina feels uneasy and in dilemma.

"Come on Naina. Iss agreement ko tum accept kr lo.",

says Dr. Mishra forwarding the agreement to Naina.

"Issi mein Captain Rajveer, tumhari aur... hum subki bhalayi hai.",

says Dr. Mishra.

Naina takes the agreement from her, reading it.

●●●●●

Next day while Rajveer was about to leave for some important work, sitting in his jeep, Naina reaches him urgently, calling him,

"Sir!"

"Haan Naina bolo, I am in a hurry",

says Rajveer turning on his jeep.

Naina stares Rajveer, knowing that what can be his reaction to her words. She very calmly, looking into his eyes says,

"Sir apko Dr. Mishra se engagement karni chahiye."

This comes as a shock for Rajveer. He stares her, knitting his brows lightly. Naina stares back, ready to bear his scoldings if he wishes to scold her after accepting her words.

His face expression tells Naina how he is angry on hearing her. Turning off the ignition, he gets out of his jeep, pissed off.

Crossing his arms over his chest, he tries to release his breath that seems to have been trapped in his chest since the moment Naina asked him to get engaged to Dr. Mishra.

When she earlier came to him and asked him to not get  engaged to Dr. Mishra for those brief moments he dared to think that may be she too has started developing those feelings for him which he has for her. That may be she finally has started acknowledging her feelings for him. That may be she has realized that between them it's more than just a teacher and student relationship! More than a mentor and protegee relationship! But today on hearing her, it feels to him as if he is back to square one!

He stares her. By the look on his face, Naina understands he wants her to elaborate. Rajveer too doesn't ask anything, knowing that she would understand what he is demanding from her, silently.

"Sir please unka offer accept kar lijiye!",

says Naina, looking towards Rajveer.

Rajveer stares her, knitting his brows.

By her each gesture Rajveer understands that she really doesn't want what she is asking for. But he fails to understand is why then she is asking that to him? What brought the sudden change in her thinking?

"Offer?",

he asks, as if the word irked him!

Resting his left hand on the bonnet of his jeep and the right holding his waist, Rajveer asks her, knitting his brows,

"Apko kaise malum ke unhone mujhe koi offer diya tha?"

Having asked that, Rajveer waits for her to surprise him by saying that she with her friends had been keeping a watch on them. But what does surprise him is not this but the fact that Naina share with him,

"Unhone mujhe bataya Sir!",

she says, looking towards him, as if heartbroken.

Rajveer looks a little away from her, all serious, trying to understand Dr. Mishra.

"I know Sir... mera koi haq nahi banta kyunki ye apka personal mamla hai!",

says Naina, disheartened.

Rajveer listens to her but his mind trying to decipher what's going on in Dr. Mishra's mind.

"Par mujhe lagta hai apko unse engagement kar leni chahiye!",

says Naina.

Her voice indicating that she really doesn't want it to happen.

Rajveer stares her, all serious, controlling his frustration and anger.

"Kyunki... uske baad wo bol rahi hain ke wo academy chor kar chali jayengi aur uske baad sub kuch theek ho jayega.",

says Naina.

Rajveer smirks looking towards Naina hearing her. This skips Naina's heartbeat. He had never before reacted this way to her words. But she accepts it silently, never minding his gesture. She understands that she bothers him a lot. In fact she was nervous about talking to him regarding this, but she had no other option!

Rajveer walks forward, crossing Naina whilst saying,

"Kamal hai Cadet Singh, jab apka mann hota hai to aap mujhse keh deti hain ke engagement mat kariye."

Naina closes her eyes, her back turned towards his back. She could see this coming and when it does come, it doesn't go away without giving her a mini heart attack!

She doesn't interrupt him, accepting all his blames and taunts. She understands that he doesn't really want to hurt her, he is just putting the facts in front of her, because her gestures hurt him. It's fair if you are getting hurt and in return you are hurting that person, it's acceptable, it's understandable, and Naina understands that, so there is nothing to blame him for, she deserves it.

But what she fails to understand is, that her decisions, her requests don't really hurt him or get him angry. What does irk him is the truth that she fails to understand the reason of her possessiveness towards him!

He continues,

"Aur jab apka mann karta to aap keh deti hain ke engagement kar lijiye?"

He waits, daring her to say something, although completely aware that she won't dare to utter a word now.

Naina turns to look towards him, all serious.

With his back still turned towards her, he says,

"Cadet Singh main koi bachcha nahi hun aur apni zindagi ke sarey faisle...",

he turns to look towards Naina and finishes,

"Main khud leta hun!",

his voice although calm, but his words do the work of letting Naina know how he is not liking her gesture.

Naina stares him back sorrowfully. Her eyes tell Rajveer how her heart has sunk on hearing his words. Hence, Rajveer turns away, unable to bear seeing her hurt and that too on his account! But this he has to do to make her understand that if she cannot acknowledge her real feelings for him, then she doesn't have to care about his future; his decisions; his life!

This he does out of frustration of course but secretly he also dares to think that may be she finally would realize her feelings for him. Would confess her feelings for him. Would understand his feeling for her!

Naina walks to him, deciding what else can she say to convince him.

Rajveer on realizing her presence behind him and knowing that she would try to convince him more, turns towards her, still showing his displeasure on finding Naina in confused state and using him almost like a puppet.

With his arms folded over his chest, he looking straight towards her and says,

"Apko jo bolna tha apne bol liya Cadet Singh, aur maine sunn liya. Thanks!"

And what Naina doesn't understand is the fact that he succeeded in hearing way more than what she verbally said to him! The truth about her that she herself is unaware about and hence the angry look she gets from Rajveer!

Saying so, without waiting for her to reply as he has already understood that he is not going to get what he wants from her yet, he climbs into his jeep.

"Sir!",

calls Naina but to no avail.

Rajveer drives away, leaving behind Naina to think about a lot of things.

●●●●●

Throughout his journey Rajveer keeps thinking about Naina. Anger surges through him afresh. What does she think of herself? Who is she decide what he needs to do and what not? He looks out turning his head a little towards left out of frustration, his eyes fall on a young couple staring each other lovingly. That ignites his anger all the more. He shakes his head out of anger and looks back to his front.

Naina's words keep ringing in his ear time and again. Applying the break hard, out of anger, he brings out his mobile and calls Dr. Mishra, and says, keeping his anger and frustration under control, not wanting Dr. Mishra to know about it,

"Dr. Mishra main apse engage hone ke liye taiyar hun!"

(Rajveer-Naina's revolt tune begins)

"Ji haan aap Dr. Shalini aur...",

he pauses, remembering Naina out of anger,

"Aur baki subko ye bata sakti hain. I want to get engaged to you as soon as possible."

Soon he ends the call.

'Main taiyar hun academy ke logo ko face karne ke liye Sir. It would be better ke aap bhi ho jaiyein!'
