Star Plus' Mariam Khan Reporting Live to end in January 2019?
Star Plus show Mariam Khan Reporting Live which recently had a leap might be on its way out for low TRP's.
If sources are to be believed, the channel has told Somersault Productions to either shape up or ship out. If push comes to shove this show which currently features the very talented and good looking Mahima Makwana and the handsome hunk Param Singh, it might go off air some time in January 2019.
Although Mahima- Param jodi which has won lots of praise on social media for their efforts did raise the ratings, it does not seem to be enough. Source says that the show always faced the barrel, for the ratings were very low before leap and always required a herculean revival task and alas, that might not have finally happened.
Also the story underwent a sea change post leap for what first began as a saga of a young fun loving dyslexic kid ( Deshna Duggad) and her family issue, post leap became the drama of girl Mariam ( Mahima) fighting to clear her dad's Majaz (Khalid Siddiqui) name. So again a big disjoint.
To be very clear no final decision has officially been taken yet. And as a statutory warning we should not even take formal calls as cast in stone, for sometimes even they can get reversed at the last minute i.e remember Udaan and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka.
Param confirmed the possible ending angle when we sent him a text asking whether the show was under the scanner and the show might wrap up in January saying, "Yes that is true.
We have left a message for Mahima as well but she has not yet replied till the time of filing this piece.
Our attempts to reach Writer Saba Mumtaz also came to nought.
We reached out to the channel spokesperson, but did not get revert.
In the final analysis, the show (pre and post leap) will eventually last 7/8 months which is no mean task in today's time when others shut shop in a matter of couple of months.
Mahima and Param fans, don't worry your favourite artists are very talented and will soon be back with something bigger and better.
