Talented youngster Pooja Banerjee has
come a long way in her acting career
and has excelled in the roles she has
donned!!
Pooja has now taken the challenge of
portraying the extremely powerful
character of Nivedita Basu in Ekta Kapoor's
much-anticipated reboot of Kasautii
Zindagii Kay, which launched in a big way
on Star Plus yesterday (25 September).
The entire team of Kasautii Zindagii Kay
assembled at Westin yesterday to witness
the magical moment of the show going
on air.
Talking about the moment, Pooja states, "I
literally cried seeing the episode. It was so
overwhelming. We were all very happy; it
was an emotional moment for all of us.
"As an actor, I always look forward to
something different from what I have
done. So for me as an actor, this is a very
contrast character. It is like challenging
myself again and again with every new
role. We knew that this has been an epic
and cult show; so there were a lot of
nervous energies, adds Pooja.
On her preparation for the role of Nivedita
Basu, Pooja avers, "I want to play Nivedita
my way. I prefer having this role just the
way I want and how Ekta M'aam has
perceived it. I remember of Nivedita being
a huge part of the show. But there's no
inspiration coming from the earlier
Nivedita Basu.
On the golden advice given by Ekta to the
cast, Pooja says, "Ekta M'aam has told us
that she will not compliment us for our
performance. Complimenting somebody
results in the praise getting into our head.
So the best compliment we can get now is
to not give any compliment. This gives us
the scope to perform better.
Pooja has been pampered however, by
her fans. "They have been constantly
sending me gifts, bouquets and sending
out cute messages. I am overwhelmed.
They have been appreciating me for my
costume and look.
As Pooja is working on her role of
Nivedita Basu for KZK, she is
simultaneously gearing up to play Bani yet
again, for ALTBalaji's Season 2 of the
extremely successful series, Kehne Ko
Humsafar Hai. "Yes, I am playing Bani as
well as Nivedita now at the same time. We
have started shoot for Kehne Ko Season 2.
I am happy that I have that much of space
to pull both off. I am juggling between the
roles; both are equally strong and have
good screen presence. This is
undoubtedly the best phase of my acting
career.
