Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 goes on air from tonight and fans are damn curious to know how Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan will revive the magical chemistry created by Cezanne Khan and Shweta Tiwari. We saw the latest promo yesterday and it looked like a colourful extravaganza with Kolkata and Durga Puja in the backdrop. Actors like Pooja Banerjee, Gitanjali Tikekar have joined the reboot version. Bollywood Life caught up with the lead actors for a small chat. When we asked Parth Samthaan about what is the charm of unrequited love in a time when online dating and short flings rule the roost. "I believe true love is about touching the soul more than the skin." Hearing that, his co-star Erica quipped that it was a "deep thought" and jokingly asked him if he has mugged up the line.

Jokes apart, the channel and makers have spent a lot of money on promoting the show. Plus, there is a responsibility of living up to the brand that is Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Erica says, "Yes, Kasautii is a brand. There is a sense of responsibility, I am nervous about how people will receive it. However, there is no pressure as actors." Parth says he is damn excited and hopes fans and viewers love the reboot one.

The team shot in Kolkata for more than a fortnight. The two actors could not help but gush about the warm welcome given to them by the city. Erica says, "Our best memory is about the food. The city has great food. All our conversations revolved around it. And the people are really very co-operative." This is the second show where Erica will be playing a Bengali character. In Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, she was Sonakshi Bose, a nutritionist. Parth says, "I will forever have fond memories of Howrah Bridge. The kind of love people showered on us was overwhelming."

The actors say the new-age Anurag and Prerna are very relatable in the manner they react to their families and situations. Both of them were kids when the original went on air. "In those days we used to watch cartoons and sports but we knew that it was a hit show," says Parth. Given the hype around the show, there is bound to be immense pressure. So, what advice did mentor Ekta Kapoor give her actors? "She told us that we have to be in our characters. The creative team behind the show is doing great work. They are investing a lot of time, energy and effort to ensure that it stands out well. We just have to give our best," signs off Parth.
