Actor Aparshakti Khurana is a busy man
these days. Right after comedy drama
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, his next film, Stree,
a horror comedy, is also up for release
(August 31). Both the films see him in light-
hearted roles. Even in his debut film, Dangal,
he had a funny role Gita and Babita
Phogat's characters' cousin. Though it made
people sit up and take notice of his acting
talent, one wonders if it's a conscious
decision to take up such roles.
"I do try and make a conscious effort to
catch hold of the right script. I am not too
choosy, and to think of it, not even two
years old in Mumbai. Thankfully, whatever I
have picked up so far has worked in my
favour, says Aparshakti.
However, the sole reason that made him say
yes for Stree wasn't the story but
something else. "Honestly, I really wanted to
work with Rajkummar [Rao]. That was the
first kick about the film him doing it. The
script itself was good, so I couldn't say no,
and with the kind of people attached to it,
something has to drastically go wrong in
the head of these people for the film to not
be executed the way it had been written,
he shares.
Happy with the current phase in his career,
Aparshakti adds, "I am blessed to be [able
to stay] busy. The patience I have been
showing since the past eight or nine years,
doing radio and theatre, is now paying off.
I am shooting back-to-back, and I have
Luka Chhupi (with Kriti Sanon and Kartik
Aaryan) next. God has been kind. I am just
trying to work with the right people and
the scripts which would help me to grow as
an actor.

He is a good actor. At par with Rajkumar. Doesn't have a likeable face as Ayushman but can easily convince the audiences through his skill.
