Janhvi Kapoor is now officially a part of the
film industry. The actor recently marked her
debut with the film Dhadak, which released
this Friday. It also stars Beyond The Clouds
actor Ishaan Khatter as the male lead.
Since the first screening of the film, the
actors have been at the receiving end of
immense love and appreciation, both from
fans and other celebrities alike. Janhvi, who
is the daughter of Boney Kapoor and the
late iconic actor Sridevi, is lauded especially
for her courage and dedication, as she had
resumed the shoot just weeks after her
mother's demise.
Now, after Dhadak's success, one more feat
has been achieved by Janhvi Kapoor.
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has
expressed her desire to sing for Janhvi. In
an interview with the Times of India, Lata
Mangeshkar said that after the sudden
demise of Sridevi, Janhvi's debut has
become a reason for Boney Kapoor to smile.
She added that Janhvi is pretty and she
would love to sing for her.
This surely is a big compliment for the
debutante.
Dhadak is helmed by Badrinath Ki Dulhania
director Shashank Khaitan, and is produced
under the banner of Karan Johar's Dharma
Productions. The film is an official remake of
the 2016 Marathi blockbuster Sairat, which
was directed by Nagraj Manjule.
Dhadak is a story of two teenagers, who fall
in love with each other, but get tangled into
the shackles of family
honour and class. Apart from Janhvi and
Ishaan, the film also stars Ashutosh Rana,
Kharaj Mukherjee, and Aditya Kumar.
Recently, there have been reports that Janhvi
Kapoor's second film will be a home
production, and she will be seen in a
glamorous avatar, much different than that
of Dhadak.
