Yeah I have thyroid nodules (growths) and the doc doesn't even care much. He just makes me scan my thyroid every 6 months and if they ever grow above 1 cm, then biopsy. But he told me people can live long lives with thyroid cancer even when it spreads to say lungs , due to it being slow growing. Ofcourse there are exceptions. This is very very common in women.

Cancer is one disease that humans have a long way to go in curing because it's adaptabile , resilient and devious. There is no one treatment for it and what works for one doesn't for another.

Metastatic cancer has no cure. There are treatments which can prolong your life.. Hope she recovers soon.

Prognosis for a cancer that has metastasised is generally bad but that doesn't mean there is no treatment. Depending on the type and grade of cancer she would be given chemo or radiotherapy or may have to undergo surgery. Prognosis also depends on the number, size and location of mets. Prayers to her and her entire family. This is a tough time and shocking news. Cancer is a dreadful disease and everyone has to be wary of it and undergo yearly checkups.

So devastating for her and her family! :((( I really pray and hope she recovers from it.

May she have the strength to endure the pain and regain back her health.

I m naive on thyroid cases , still i suggest u consult different doctors with specialisation rather than form singular opinion of a doctor.

Oh I have seen many many doctors and specialists, it's all good. Always urge women to check their thyroid as almost half of the female population has thyroid nodules. If you monitor them
timely they are almost always benign.

One thing that celebs have the power to do is spread awareness which general public may not know about. This way countless people will check themselves for any lumps and bumps.
