Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai chronicles the love story of Naina Agarwal and Sameer Maheshwari based in the era of magical 90s. Naina, a quintessential good girl, lives in Ahmedabad. Her priority is her studies, she loves her family and dreams of love based on her perception from movies. Miles away from her a flamboyant boy Sameer, gets in trouble at his school in Nainital and to save his so-called friends he taken upon the whole blame upon himself resulting in his suspension. Scared of being confronted by his mother and step-father, he leaves for Ahmedabad to stay with his maternal grandfather, whom he affectionately addresses as Nanu. Fate plays a hand and Naina senses Sameer around her during multiple occurrences at school and market, which in turn always leads Naina into trouble - when Sameer mistakenly spits chewing gum because of which she has to cut her hair, or when he tears of her dupatta to nurse his bleeding hand, or when she hears him sing in the canteen and earns a slap from Taiji upon asking the meaning of the song. Naina and Sameer finally meet, almost colliding into each other on Sameer's first day in Pragati Vidya ka Mandir (PVKM), where Naina is also a student.

In a heart stopping twirl, she loses her heart to him as she falls in love at first sight. She is elated to know that Sameer is going to study in the same class as her, but a series of misunderstanding starts when she has to report Sameer to the principal as she has seen him fighting with some senior boys. This results in his suspension again, but he returns with the help of his Nanu who is also a trustee of their school. The misunderstandings continue when Naina who was tutoring Sameer couldn't accept in-front of her father that she was teaching by her own will, and then again complains about Sameer believing he has stolen the examination papers. Furious at being labelled as a thief, and disturbed by the humiliation of his Nanu, Sameer takes up a bet upon the provocation of the senior boys - he decides to make Naina fall in love with him and in-turn humiliate her father by questioning his morals and upbringing. Meanwhile Naina gets to know that the real thief is her own brother Arjun and Sameer was falsely accused, distraught she seeks ways to talk to him and finally reciprocates his friendly advances not knowing that the reason behind his changes demeanour is a bet that could break her heart.

Thus begins a tale of innocent school romance where Naina learns that not all people are same as her, but it doesn't mean that they are wrong, and she begins to accept Sameer along with his flaws and also his friends Munna and Pandit. Sameer slowly starts enjoying her company, and gets to know that she is a good person at heart, and is stunned by her gestures of friendship and love. During their school trip at Mt. Abu, Sameer who had decided to fulfil his bet, starts to feel hesitant and the bet takes a rear place in his mind. He keeps enjoying the moments he spends with her and unknowingly reciprocates feelings and gestures of true love. His quest for revenge finally crumbles when Naina lets him spend the night in her own room, when she finds out he is sick and locked out of his room, she doesn't even care for her own reputation in front of the concern she has for him. They are however caught the next morning by her father, and he takes up the entire blame on himself to save her reputation. Naina reciprocates this gesture by gifting him a sweater she has knitted for him and tries to confess her love for him. Overwhelmed by the gift, her care and thoughtfulness, Sameer decides to back out of the bet and confess the truth to her. However, fate intervenes once again, and Sameer is distraught when his own mother refuses to acknowledge him as her son in-front of their business partners. In an effort to console him, Naina ends up confessing the she loves him and cares for him. The senior boys intervene the serene moment and tell Naina the truth about bet before Sameer could tell her, this leaves her completely heartbroken and shattered.

Shaken to the core and in a state of disbelief, Naina withdraws into herself, often having sudden outbursts and ignoring her own health. As a result, she ends up in the hospital. On the other hand, Sameer is disturbed by the turn of events and feels guilty on hurting a person whom he had started to consider a true friend, and who has cared for him like no one else in the world has done. On seeing her condition in the hospital, Sameer finally decides to seek forgiveness from her and is supported in this quest by his friends Munna and Pandit. Naina's friend Swati supports her and saves her from the questions of her family, and finally Naina decides that she would forget Sameer and focus on her studies and family again. At school, Sameer's effort of apologizing is met with a silence or barbed words by Naina, which stuns him and shakes him. His efforts keep multiplying, and slowly he is forced to analyse as to why he is so much determined in seeking forgiveness, why he is ready to do everything for Naina, and he also starts ignoring his health, thus ending up at the hospital when he faints due to high fever.

Naina comes to meet him and she breaks down in-front of him, making him realize the depth of her hurt and pain when she tells him that he has broken her faith in love and she would never be able to commit to another person. On seeing her heart-broken tears, the confusing feelings in Sameer's heart clicks into place and he realizes that he has fallen in love with Naina a long time back and had never realized it. He confesses the entire truth about his feelings and the bet to Nanu, who advises him to go get his love and heal her heart. Sameer decides to confess his feelings to her, but again fate intervenes and Naina's brother Arjun gets to know about the bet. He fights with Sameer but falls down the stairs breaking his leg when Sameer tries to defend himself. As an atonement of his crime, Sameer is sentenced to serve Arjun at the Agarwal house until he is well again. This also gives him a chance to heal Naina and he is determined to make her smile again with his love.

Sameer starts visiting Naina's home daily, and bravely takes in all the taunts and venom she spews. He is constantly mistreated by her father and brother, but bears it all in silence, keeping a calm head and focusing on his end goal. During the same time wedding preparations for Naina's elder cousin Pooja didi starts, and he too makes a wedding card "Sameer sang Naina", to confess his love to her. Slowly with each passing day he is successful in making Naina smile by bringing her father to the PTA meeting, he also wins the support of Preeti when he mistakenly confesses his love for Naina in-front of her, and finally ends up winning the confidence and trust of Chachaji and Chachiji when he patches up their differences. Naina is lost between the tussle of heart and mind, where her heart wants to believe that Sameer indeed truly loves her but at the same time she is scared to believe him again.

Meanwhile Sameer gets to know that Arjun has recovered completely but is still faking it as he fears being pressurized to win the state Cricket selection match by his father. Arjun cleverly turns Naina against Sameer again when Sameer tries to tell her that her brother can walk. Frustrated on not being trusted, he makes a plan with Shefali, Munna and Pandit to bring out Arjun's truth, and succeeds in doing so on the day of Tilak ceremony. Naina finally acknowledges Sameer's efforts and apologizes for not trusting him, pacifying him with a dance in the Sangeet ceremony. Sameer also performs for her, however this infuriates Arjun and he along with Rakesh Sir throw Sameer, Munna and Pandit out. Naina is disheartened on seeing Sameer mistreated and a heartfelt phone conversation follow. Sameer comes back to Agarwal house as part of the wedding baraat, thus forcing Arjun and Rakesh Sir to treat his with respect, and he also ends up saving Pooja's marriage when the boy's family is ready to break the union because of Rakesh's misbehaviour with Sameer.

During the state selections Sameer helps Arjun in winning the match despite being cheated by Arjun earlier. Happy with the turn of events, Sameer and Naina spend some precious time in their school and confess their love for each other. He requests her for a bike ride and she agrees, but their plans fail when Rakesh and Arjun decide to drop Naina to school in their newly won car. Prompted by Munna and Pandit, Sameer decides to take their relationship forward by holding her hand. After several failed attempts, they finally hold hands when Naina falls in the mud and Sameer helps her out. The elation and bliss of their school romance is however short lived, as they are soon faced by a tragic turn of events. Naina has to go to their native village after the 12th standard farewell, and Sameer is unhappy about it, but she pacifies him saying it is only for two days and he surprises her by gifting her his Nani's saree which was given to her as a blessing by Nanu. Naina wears the saree on the day of the farewell party and Sameer also dresses up well excited to meet her. On the way to school he remembers that he has forgotten his camera and returns home to find Nanu lying unconscious. He is shocked but manages to get Nanu admitted in hospital and informs his mother and step father about it. Sameer fails to go the farewell, and Nanu passes away after blessing him and asking Vishakha to be a proper mother to Sameer. Unfortunately, Naina is completely unaware of the happenings in Ahmedabad as she had to leave for her village trip. Sameer goes into a zone, completely shocked by Nanu's death, and Mr. Somani and Vishakha decide to take him to Delhi. A series of hits and misses follow, and Sameer and Naina are unable to meet each other despite crossing paths.

In Delhi, Sameer is made to feel completely unwanted by his step grandmother and he feels lonely without his friends and Naina. Dadi puts a lock on the phone when she sees him talking to his friends, feeds him leftover food, gives his pizza to the dog and gets the servant Keshav to mop the floor with the Sameer's sweater that Naina had made for him. Vishakha tries to protest but is silenced by her. But Sameer gets back at her by exposing that she wears a wig because she is a little bald.

But all this while, Sameer builds a bond with his little sister Deepika and becomes friends with his next-door neighbour Amrita who lends him her phone so that he can talk to Naina. Sameer also writes a letter to Naina informing her that he is coming to meet her in Ahmedabad. Sameer decides to get his hair trimmed, but is trapped by Dadi who gets his hair chopped off into shorter locks as a revenge for exposing her baldness. At the hair salon, Sameer witnesses a couple of boys leering on the pictures of girls pasted in a nearby studio. At the other end, Naina is elated on receiving his letter and gets her picture clicked in the studio to gift it to Sameer. However, when they finally meet in school, Sameer gets irked on seeing her photo as he recalls those leering boys and leaves to go back to Delhi. Upon his return, Sameer is stranded without any mode of transport and whole of Delhi is shut down with the news of the Prime Minister's death. On seeing an elderly couple, Sameer realizes his mistake and calls up Naina and apologizes for his behaviour. She informs him that she has failed in her examinations, but later promises to study harder and top her class again. He promises her that he would keep his head calm and try to be on good terms with his family.

As he is walking back home, Sameer is troubled by a gang of rowdy boys, but he manages to impress them with his stunts and they help him reach home. As per his promise, Sameer tries to behave properly at home, but overcome by his loneliness he falls into the bad company of the same rowdy boys and resorts to bad habits like smoking, drinking and playing cards. Meanwhile in Ahmedabad, saddened by their friend's absence, Munna and Pandit quarrel with each other. Naina and Swati try to patch up their friendship by tricking them into believing that Sameer is unwell and needs his friends. Both Munna and Pandit travel to Delhi separately and Sameer is elated to see them. However, they are disappointed to see the new friends Sameer has made and are quick to gauge the situation. They make his realize his follies and the trio throw out the other boys from the house before Sameer's family could find out about them.

Sameer and Naina's relationship continue to flourish through letters and phone calls. Sameer also takes up a job at a radio station, and his bond with his mother improves when she tells him that she is proud of him. In Ahmedabad, Naina finds out about a dance competition being held in Delhi and realizes that it is her best opportunity to finally meet Sameer. She practices hard but is not good enough to be selected, however with the timely help of her classmate Kamya she is selected to represent her school in the competition. Naina informs about her arrival to Sameer, who receives the letter on the day of competition. However, his mother falls severely ill, and his grandmother uses this opportunity to make his believe that he is unlucky and people whom he loves always end up dying, like his father and Nanu, or in severe trouble like his mother. Sameer falls in the trap of her words and decides to stay away from Naina. He goes to see her dance, but doesn't meet her, despite her frantic search for him after winning the competition. Disheartened Naina returns to Delhi without meeting him.

He starts to write shorter letters to her, and also doesn't take her phone calls. During the same time, unable to see her son troubled Vishakha decides to send him back to Ahmedabad. Rohan, his step brother, develops a good bond with Sameer and is unhappy to see him return. Sameer returns to Ahmedabad, and his extended family stays with him, but he decides not to meet Naina, Munna and Pandit. Naina keeps feeling that something is wrong, and she is also completely sure that Sameer is in Ahmedabad after she spots him in a garment shop. Munna and Pandit find out that he indeed in Ahmedabad but he doesn't want to meet Naina. Fate intervenes again, and they meet each other while filling out admission forms for college. She keeps trying to find out the reason for Sameer's behaviour but fails, she also tries to take admission in VJN college so that she can be with Sameer but again fails and has to take an admission to Patel Mahavidyalaya. She tries to convince Sameer to come to the same college as her, but he refuses.

The first day in college turns out to be opposite to expectations for Sameer, Munna and Pandit as their car stalls in the middle and students tease them. A new gang including Sameer's rival Kartik and a girl Sunaina who pays attention to Sameer's looks is introduced. Preeti and Swati also have to face teasing in the college. Due to a turn of events, Naina lands up in VJN college and everyone is surprised to see her. Thus, begins the journey of Naina trying to find out the cause behind Sameer's behaviour and make him speak to her. She makes several failed attempts, including getting herself ragged by the seniors which irks Sameer. Meanwhile the fresher's party comes up and there would be a dance competition to select Mr. and Ms. Fresher. Naina decides to win the competition along with Sameer, and believes it to be an indication of their future marriage. She tries to convince Sameer but he ignores her repeated attempts. Her friends tell her that Sameer has changed but Naina doesn't believe it. As a final straw, Naina attempts to smoke and infuriated by her action Sameer slaps her. She returns the favour, slapping him hard for his foolishness and questions his mistaken belief in luck and bad luck. When he is not convinced, she tells that she has understood that she holds no importance in his life and leaves from there. After a while, when no one is able to find her anywhere, Sameer gets distraught and starts looking for her. Finally finding her in a temple, he confesses of loving her but being scared, however let's go of his foolishness when she explains that fear has no place in the relationship of love.

They spend beautiful moments together, preparing in full spirit for the fresher's party. Meanwhile their cousin sisters who are both pregnant also come home because they had a fight and get thrown out of the house. On the day of the competition, they realize that Kartik has stolen their cassette, and they are forced to prepare an impromptu qawwali performance. Sameer wins the Mr. Fresher title; however, the title of Ms. Fresher goes to Sunaina, making everyone sad. Sameer tries to cheer her up by sneaking the Ms. Fresher sash and giving it to Naina, they click pictures together creating memories to last forever.

The Beginnings

"I didn't choose you. I just took one look at you, and then- there was just no turning back."

For Naina, she didn't know that the oath she just took- the oath of not falling in love with any boy ever, would be broken in the next few minutes. Because that special boy who would break her promise and make her fall in love with him- had entered her city, her school and was about to enter her heart. It was an accident, you might say. The sweetest accident of her life. And she wished it would happen again and again, with him. She was about to collide with him, when her eyes met his and everything changed. She understood the emotion which was yet unknown to her- the emotion called love. Her heart leaped in joy and shrieked, "that's the one for you! She was dazed, as if the hero of her dream film was standing right in front of her, looking at her as mesmerized as she was. Little did she know, that one spin had spun her life completely around.

For Sameer, it was a chance encounter. He couldn't fathom why he hadn't been able to take his eyes off that pretty girl in front of him. He had a task at hand- to chase Pankaj and to beat him up for insulting his mother, but there was a pull emanating from this girl- the pull which was shouting out to him to stop, and to stay with her.

This was the incidental encounter- the first face-off of our favourite couple. At that time, Naina finally understood what it was to be in love and waited for Sameer to offer friendship to her. The dream that finally came true at the water tap. As we escaped the day of Rakshabandhan, with bated breaths along with Sameer and Naina, the dil deewana song in the background, the couple eyeing each other while drinking water, had us swimming in a lake of Rasna as well. And then finally Sameer made Naina confess her feelings about him, prompted her to say that they were friends- or perhaps a little more than friends. We jumped with joy like Naina as Sameer uttered, "toh?" in his husky voice. This "toh" has probably been deemed more romantic than even "I Love You!"

Kyunki hawa, paani aur pyaar apna raasta bana hi lete hain

The Mt. Abu trip played a major role in bringing Sameer and Naina closer and for them to decipher their true feelings for each other. After the chudail prank, the way Sameer eyed her, clicked her photos on the pretext of clicking principal sir, the way he confessed to having stopped smoking, took our hearts away. We knew, like Munna and Pandit did, that Sameer was falling for Naina. And then, when she made him recite his poem in front of the school, his tears said it all. She had earned him appreciation for his hidden talent- the first ovation of his life! How could she read him like a book? And since that night, under the stars, the dawn at Sunset point, the boating at Nakki lake, Sameer did not know he'd lost his heart to her. Hestarted loving her company more than anything else. And the way Sameer's eyes bored into hers, hungry for an invitation- no, not for candy floss, but hungry for her. As his lips touched her jhootha candy floss, his eyes twinkled with the joy and a strange triumph- as if they'd crossed the first step to touch those very lips of hers.

How would a boy like Sameer- deprived of love and care, even from his most dearest ones feel, when a 16 year old girl, takes it upon herself to see to his health. Naina brought him inside her own room, risking her reputation, risking being with a boy at night. She covered him with a blanket, gave him medicines and pronounced that she would always worry for him. Why had he wanted to hurt a girl, who had the capacity to burn her own fingers, just so she could feel his pain? Sameer turned, a tear dropped from his eyes as he loathed himself, and started loving that girl.

Ishq wo aatish hai - jo lagaye na lage, bujhaye na bujhe

A beautiful trip was to end on a strange note. Overcome with remorse, Sameer tried to distance himself from Naina, just so he wouldn't hurt her further. It took a filthy comment against Naina by the rival gang, which led to Sameer thrashing them all. And it was then that his parents saw the rowdy side of him and disowned him publically. That acted as the final nail in the coffin. How much could a 17 year old endure? The absence of his mother's love on one hand and the guilt of playing with an innocent's girl's emotions on the other. Sameer ran to distance himself from everyone, and as he reached the precipice, he broke down, howling in pain. But Naina wasn't willing to give up on him. She ran to pacify him, confront him. Even when Sameer spoke bitterly to her, she did not leave him. And then Sameer had to pour his heart out- on how she had filled the void of love that he'd been experiencing in his life. Where his own mother had left him, she'd supported him. Naina couldn't bear to see Sameer shattered. She stepped across her moral limitations as she placed her hands on his back and hugged him. His tears made her cry as she rested her head on his back and finally confessed- "I Love You Sameer!"

Hum do dil nahi...hum to kabke ek ho chuke hain

Sameer had been overcome with guilt for betraying Naina. He did his best to seek repentence from her. His only hope being- Naina would once again smile and they would be friends as they used to be. But he failed to acknowledge the fact that Naina could not be just friends with him anymore. She'd loved him with a pure heart. He'd been her first love. Sameer spent the night outside her home, in the cold, waiting for her to accept his apology, when he started running a high fever. Still, he tried to gift her a cycle, to make amends for his misdeeds as well as to help Naina's family in their time of need. But Naina refused to accept it. Her taunts got the better of him and he fainted in the Sun. There in the hospital room, he still waited for her, against all hope, when Munna declared that his Siphai had indeed come to visit him. Sameer was welling up with happiness that despite everything, Naina still cared for him. But when she spoke, her words pierced his heart like an arrow. What he'd done was irredeemable! Naina broke down in front of him, making it clear that he would be the cause of pain for her all through her life. Tables turned this time. Seeing the tears in Naina's eyes, Sameer didn't realize when his own eyes became moist, and he slumped to the ground, crying with her. He tried to comfort her, but she ran away. And it was then that realization dawned over him. What Naina meant to him! It was then that he knew that he too was madly in love with her. Naina was the throbbing of his heart- Naina was the life inside him. Sameer understood that he and Naina were not two different people- but two souls already bonded as one. And he promised to become the cause of happiness in her life again!

Mere rang mein rangne wali

Naina was still angry at Sameer. But where two hearts were joining in holy matrimony, the hearts of Naina and Sameer were slowly letting go of the worst and beginning to accept each other again. Call it the stroke of fate, but Sameer accidentally collided with Naina, spilling the Shagun ki Haldi in her hand all over her. Naina had been unwilling to apply haldi to him, but life had other plans. As she shook her dupatta, she saw the yellow adorn Sameer's cheeks as well.

And then when Naina's dress tore, Sameer offered to help her, citing that he would not like anyone to see her like this. He brazenly let her know that she belonged to him and that he was possessive for her. This affected Naina, and she allowed him to pin up her dress, on the promise that he would keep his eyes closed. The trust had been restored.

And when Naina finally forgave him, Sameer tried to act indifferent. He took a swig of cola, after letting her know, that though he'd been at fault, she too had been wrong not to forgive him once she knew he was truly repentant. Empowered with love, Naina again stepped across her boundary, and tapped the bottle twice. Sameer turned in surprise at the music of the two taps- the signals from her that he'd been missing all this while. He saw Naina take a sip from the same cola bottle, finally accepting his jhootha. He smiled on the inside and reciprocated by tapping the bottle twice and drinking the cola again- now her jhootha. Kyunki jhootha khaane se pyaar badhta hai aur aaj in dono ka pyaar waapis jaag gaya tha!

The Three Magical Words

Dil 100 baar dhadakta hai...wo teen shabd kehne se pehle...fir chahe wo ladke ka dil ho ya ladki ka...

Naina and Sameer were desperate to finally confess their feelings for each other today. They ran to their classroom and ended up colliding with each other- the same way they'd met for the first time. Sameer tried to touch her- to hold her hand, but Naina shied away. But today, Sameer was unsatiable unless he'd heard her confess her feelings for him. He moved upto where she was standing at the window and his arms caged her from behind. The proximity unnerved them both. Though they hadn't even touched each other, there was a passion emanating from them. Naina knew she'd been cornered and Sameer wanted his demand to be fulfilled now. Slowly, she muttered, "I Love You!" to him, blushing the same shade of pink as her dress. And Sameer- he smiled wide as he slid his face near her ear, and spoke "I Love You too!" The words that came out of his mouth were clear, hurried, as if he'd been dying to say them out aloud to her. This time, he didn't want to wait. This time there was no confusion. Because this time he knew he was in love with her. The couple enjoyed private moments together in the classroom, in the playground, and Naina playfully avoided all his advances to touch her.

Because every time we touch, I get this feeling

Sameer made a bold move as he requested Naina to ride with him on his bike before school. Naina shyly acquiesced. In the morning, Sameer was seen wiping his bike sparkling clean, adjusting the mirror so that he could look at his girl through it. And Naina was so anxious, yet happy to be sitting with him on the bike that she propped herself on her father's scooter. She raised her hands as if trying to hold his shoulder, and there Sameer felt her touch on his shoulder. She then hesitantly thought if she should hold him at the waist. As her arms encircled thin air, Sameer sensed her a few kilometers away. The bike mirror shone in her reflection, as Naina blushed at the other end. But the bike ride dreams were quashed as Safari suit made an inopportune entry.

So engrossed Sameer became in the innocence of Naina and her love, that it took Munna and Pandit to make him realize that before the bike ride, he must at least hold Naina's hand. After all, once he has her hand in his, would she be convinced of the depth of his love for her. All through the farewell party preparations, Sameer secretly tried to grab her hand, but Naina was hardly aware of his intentions. Finally, unable to succeed, he left the classroom in a huff, but Naina followed him, blocking his way. And again, due to the rash driving by her own father, Naina fell into the mud- like she'd done at the start of 11th. But this time, Sameer did not pause to think as he held her hand to help her get up. Seconds later, they realized they'd finally held each other's hands. Their elation knew no bounds. Naina didn't want to wash the mud off, because it held Sameer's touch. But Sameer surprised her again, by placing his hand on hers firmly, in front of the entire school. That day, neither used the hand that had touched their lover. All they could do was to stare lovingly at the hand that had experienced the first touch of love.

A rose and a love letter - need one say more?

Distance makes a heart grow fonder it is said. And Sameer and Naina made us believe it was indeed true. In an era, where relationships fail the test of time, the test of distance and the test of loyalty, the fact that true love prevails over all hardships- was a welcome treat. The whole process of being forced to communicate through letters, revealing the itsy-bitsy details of each of their lives, waiting for the post to arrive, smelling the scent sprinkled on the letters transported us to a dreamworld. And more importantly, despite the miles separating them, we saw Naina inching closer to Sameer in terms of physical proximity. Naina became emboldened, determined to prove her love to him. The usually shy Naina put on a red lipstick, and marked her love letter to Sameer with a kiss. We all know the potential of that lipstick mark. It would have been enough to wreak havoc in his heart- which was already yearning with desire, longing to hold her in his arms and dreaming of kissing her.

The couple made sure they nutured their love by planting a rose plant in each other's name at their end. They talked to the plant, as if it was a visitation of their lover. They rose plant symbolized the ups and downs in this beautiful long distance relationship of the 90's.

Exploring other relationships

Love is important, but what is love without friendship. Often, one ends up needing their friends in times of the happiest moments as well as the most depressing moments of their love lives. Friends are the second leads and never the side characters in any love story. And Munna and Pandit proved it as they travelled all the way to Delhi, just to make sure their beloved friend Sameer was all right. And inadvertently, they saved him from the bad company he'd fallen into. It was only because of Munna and Pandit's timely advice that Sameer realized his folly.

Even hardships sometimes get the best out of you. And it was in this period of turmoil, that Sameer Maheshwari landed a job as a Radio commentator for All India Radio. He did what he loved- played his favourite tunes on the guitar and his poetic side delivered his love filled messages to his beloved, tuned to the radio, miles away from him. And all this under the sobriquet of Prem. But then, the two women of his life, Naina and Vishakha, who truly love him, recognized his voice in an instant. Vishakha finally felt proud of her son and did not hesitate to let him know that. She'd always believed in him, and for the first time Sameer knew that what motherly appreciation and happiness felt like to a son.

I dream of you!

The distance could prevent the two souls from meeting in person. But it couldn't prevent them from visiting each other in their dreams. This is something that every lover, be it in any era, would relate to- their dreams of their beloved. Sameer and Naina too enjoyed dancing on songs together and romancing in their daydreams. They lived the lyrics as if they had been meant for them- "Do rang milne ke baad...hote nahi hain judaaa...!" The series of these dreams continued, when Naina performed on stage and felt Sameer was dancing with her. The mere thought of his presence made her ecstatic and she ended up winning the dance competition trophy. That's the power of true love and the power of love dreams.

Most folks probably think that gardens only get tended when they're blooming. But most folks would be wrong.

True to the words,as the show completes an incredible strike of double century ..I am thrown back to the nostalgic and fond memories  ;to some  187  episodes back.

Our Naina was only smitten  by Sameer's Prem' swag and  fortunately-unfortunately she was selected for Vanasthali. Her heart and mind were not at ease and her pen friend Shefali had just moved in to her society building.

And then I fell in love.

Brilliant storyline and the sweet moments in school made me fall in love ...again. With the show and the characters.Connection went from as thin as a thread to as strong as a rope. And even after the glorious 200 ,love is still there.

There have been many ups and down in the storyline..Tracks unbearable and storyline toppled but as a gardener never leaves the garden no matter if flowers bloom or weeds flourish. The same way love for the characters have kept me bound no matter how things go up or down.

It is very normal for one ugly weed to not want to stand alone.Good things in life can never be appreciated if we have not seen the worst. All we need is to be little patient and little more forgiving.

The show fills my  heart with laughter like a blooming flower... The unique every moment of the relationships portrayed turn instrumental for   soul's revival and its sun to shine..

May the show live long..

Cheers to Celebrations.

Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai. I bet, ten years from today, it will still bring a smile on my face.

I still remember clearly when I got to know about this show, the weekend after the nine episodes aired. I was intrigued by seeing a school girl in the thumbnail, watched the promo to get the idea and then I didn't even think twice on my decision to follow this show.

I fell in love with this show so badly. Still in love and always will be.

The realistic portrayal of all the characters, you feel connected. The charm of this show is unexplainable, I can say proudly that I have never missed a single episode. This show is my life, the only hindi show I religiously followed.

All the characters are so relatable and imperfect yet perfect to my eyes. This show has defined love, friendship, value of  relations in a more beautiful way. People who has worked behind the scenes need a applause too as because of them, the show is properly executed.

The praises are never enough for this show.

It has made me do some things that I never spared a thought too. Giving a blank call to my crush, drink a cola with my lips attached which was a big step as I has always steered clear of soft drinks. Another thing was joining this forum which would always remain special, I have made such good friends here.

I started writing again which I never thought I would do. This show has motivated and compelled me to explore my writing side of mine a little more.

One of the best thing which I just realised recently was this show completes it 10th month on 5th of July. So why is it the best thing? Because my birthday falls on that date. Knowing that your favourite show will always cross a milestone on your birthday is such a great feeling.

The show completed 200 episodes today and I hope it completes many more episodes with its charm by its side. My best wishes and love for this show will always be present.

Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai started on 5th September, 2017. Since then it has become a part of our daily life. It has come as a fresh air of breath in life. It brings back 90's memories and relationships with the feeling of love, friendship and masti. Through this show in 21st era we are living the life of 90's again. It feels so relatable to life of that time and that's why it is such a beautiful show. We love the tremendous effort of all the cast and crews of the team and the production house for making the show so beautiful. Special love for Randeep and Ashi for portraying Samaina love with their sizzling chemistry on screen. Congratulations on completion of 200th episode to the team and fans who are now like a family. May it gets all the more success and love in coming days which it deserves.

KashafZaroon30

Happy 200 episodes to the team of YUDKBH and our forum. The show has crossed many milestones from PVKM school to Delhi to VJN college. And I'm sure the show and its characters are yet to cross many more milestones. Thank you all forumwasis for being a part of this with me. Enjoy!

youth_showsfan

I still remember watching the first promo of the show on TV and I was excited for the show. As a child, I too used to play stapu and the promo brought a lot of memories back. As I started watching the show, I was glued to it. It brought the magic of 90's on screen. Also, it made me believe in relationships such as friendship, sister love, brother love, grandparents love, family bond and loving and helpful teachers. I was never a believer of love but when came to know it's inspired from producers real life love story I started believing in love as well. This show is unique it's not your typical saas bahu show it's almost close to reality. Also, each character has a role to play without one it will look incomplete. Usually I don't like side characters much but here the entire gang mundit preeti swati kamya and hema, I like them and enjoy watching their scenes as well. Apart from gang I also enjoy watching Agarwal khandaan and to some extent somani clan except dadi and keshav. The entire production house works hard for each episode and I appreciate their efforts. Randeep and Ashi are amazing as samaina and I adore their chemistry.

Congratulations to whole cast and crew of YUDKBH. You guys did an amazing job. It is just not a TV show for us, it is a nostalgia, an emotion, part of our lives without which our days don't complete. Hats off to the creativity and its presentation on the screen giving it realistic approach which we all can relate to.Definately it is Samaina story and their journey but the pecularity of this show is that side characters are given equal importance and we love watching them all whether it's SwaPreeNa or SaMunDit. YUDKBH gives importance to friendship along with love and not to forget family drama which is sweet and spicy.

You successfully completed 200 episodes and there are many more to come. Party toh banti hai!

AaishaM

Congratulations to all the team members for successfully completing 200 episodes. All of you have been putting up a lot of hard work and your hard work is  magically manifested on the screen. YUDKBH is not just a show for me, it is an emotion. It has made me live my childhood again. The show is so close to reality and to my real life that most of the times I feel I am seeing my life story on the screen. Thank you for giving us the magic named YUDKBH❀️

Heartiest congratulations to the Makers of Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai for completing 200 episodes!

The concept is brilliant and those belonging to that era can relive their moments through this beautiful serial. So many forgotten things/moments/events reappear and make us nostalgic.

The sweet innocent love of the protagonists is played brilliantly by Randeep Rai as Sameer and Ashi Singh as Naina Aggarwal. Their chemistry is superb and engages the audience completely. Their effortless acting has made them dear to us and there is a connect. You feel happy when they are happy, and you feel sad when they are sad. The other characters of Munna, Pandit, Swati and Preeti have shaped up well.

I love Tayiji's dialogues. Adds the spice.

First hundred episodes were superb. Delhi track however was full of negativity. Hope in the future the episodes are balanced.

Here is wishing many more hundreds!

canapoem

Thank you Sony TV and the makers of Yeh Undino K Baat Hain for giving us such a sweet story.

It reminded me of the time I was growing up.

The little things like the programs on the TV, to the turning of the antennae on the terrace made me take a trip down the memory lane of my life.

I was someone like Naina who would obsess about every mark given by my Math teacher and who would want to always stand first in class.

Many of the viewers connected to Naina, Swathi or Preeti as they saw their childhood in them.

The fascination of Bollywood songs and movies, to eating Gol gappes being served by the Street Side vendor was how our lives were.

Sameer's entry brought a bloom of fresh air into the show and the sweet and cute love story of Sameer and Naina stole our hearts.

Sameer, Munna and Pandit's friendship did surely remind us of our childhood friends and the value of friendship.

Congratulations on completion of 200 episode and good luck for the next phase of the story.

When I think about YUDKBH first word comes to mind is nostalgic... The aim that makers had with this was to create that nostalgia for everyone who grew up in 90s. They were 100% able to achieve it. Everything about the show makes me so so so nostalgic. Each and every character is so realistic and relatable for me. More so as I grew up in a small town similar to Ahmedabad and in a marwari family. I could draw parallels with so many family scenes from the show to something that happened in my joint family. The way people use to respect the elders in the family and listen to them even if they were wrong. πŸ˜†

The feel of first love was so heart touching that I could actually experience all those emotions that I had felt in my teenage years!!!😳  it brought back so many memories which I had forgotten years back!!!

Each and every character in the show is so well sketched and casting looks perfect. Everyone be it Nanu, tauji taiji, principal sir, Rakesh sir, Shanti Mam, kumud mam, lochan sir, chacha, Chachi, mundit, shefjun, Preeti, Swati, Kamya and last but not the least samaina is playing their role to perfection. Can't think of any other actor playing any of these roles better.

The VO's is like icing on the cake. I can't imagine the show without it. Show would have not been same without it.

Music from 90s adds special effects and feel to each and every scene.

Glad to see the show completing 200 years!!! Congrats to the whole cast and crew for this and all hard work they have done for past year. This is celebration time for not just them but for whole fandom as well. Wishing the show many more celebrations like this!!!

First of all congratulations to the entire team of yeh unn dinon ki baat hai for completing 200 episodes  πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Each and everything in this show is precious. I was drawn to this show mainly because of three factors

1. teenage romance

2. no saas bahu saga

3  the story set in 90s which is a new concept in tv industry

The show is unique in various aspects. It has fresh n talented leads along with ensemble cast who are also talented. Every single character is portrayed beautifully onscreen. The story is presented very well onscreen and also by the narrators. one aspect which impresses in terms of narration is that they compare each n every situation with the present as well as in 90s which makes us understand how life was different those days. Also the songs played during scenes make us to hear it again and again. πŸ˜³πŸ‘

I would like to highlight two important relationships which is portrayed beautifully onscreen since those two relationships has become rare case in present days.

1. The innocence and purity of love relationship between sameer and naina which made me to believe in love β€οΈ

2. The true friendship between entire pvkm gang πŸ€—

I am grateful to this show as it makes me happy whenever am sad and also it has given this forum through which i have made new friends πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

Kudos to the entire teamπŸ‘

May this show and team achieve greater success in the future.πŸ˜ƒ

What to write about Ye Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai?

Just some days back I read the article that this is not just a show but a emotion.

How true is that!

For me it's just like I am reliving my childhood and got the chance to see my second love Salman Khan's younger version in the form of Randeep.

The very younger version of him I fell in love with and till this date that love is still same for me.

When I saw the first promo of YUDKBH Randeep indeed reminded me of Salman and that is the main reason I so wanted to watch this show and most importantly the school setup.

From first episode I love the show and  that love is increasing day by day.

Everything in the show takes me back in my childhood, some of the things I don't remember then I ask my husband if he remembers these things,he says yes and he tells me about them.

I love everything about this show the actors, the characters they portraying on screen, story, the execution of tracks.

Normally I don't watch Indian Hindi shows they really suck big time so I took break from them.

My hubby is fan of KBC and because of it I got to know about YUDKBH.

Can you believe this the first show ever for me that I like everything about it!

All the actors are so good but for me all the kids are doing great job in it.

Randeep,Ashi,Ayesha.Sanjay,Raghav,Kristina they all are so brilliant.

I love all of them but my most favourite is obviously Randeep and his character Sameer.

Wonderful growth of his as an actor as well as his onscreen character.

What to say about Randeep Ashi's chemistry!

Words really falls short to say anything about it.

They are the first onscreen couple who can make you blush, fall in love with their love and that too without any physical proximity.

They are indeed the most innocent couple onscreen.

Because of this show I got to know the value of love, relationships, friendship which I would love to implement in my life.

YUDKBH is completing 200 episode , I wish all the cast and crew members a heartiest congratulations!

Wish and pray that they get all the success and love which they deserve and they reach more milestones in future.

On same day it's Randeep's birthday.

Wish and pray that he gets whatever he wish for and he should  get all the success and stay happy, safe and blessed always.

Love the show, love all the actors in it.

I am very happy and proud  of myself  that I decided to give this show a chance and I started watching it and now can't even think of missing a single episode.

Once again a heartiest congratulations to YUDKBH team!

Anjali33

Congratulations for successfully completing 200 episodes of love, friendship, affection, struggle and togetherness. Wishing you many more 200s

Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai and my heart. A journey that started with giving a try to a new show only on my mother's insistence, has now come a long way. A mere show has become my heartbeat. Characters have become a part of my life. Their emotions have become my emotions.

The relationships, values and lifestyle binding me with the magical era, the 90s. The blissful feeling of getting a chance to witness what my parents must have lived.

The characters of Sameer and Naina pulling the strings of my heart. Preeti, Swati, Munna, Pandit and Shefali giving friendship a new meaning. Chachaji, Chachiji and Nanu being the perfect parents. Arjun and Pooja being the most caring siblings. Tauji, Taiji and Rakesh sir showing the harsh reality. Shanti teacher and Principal sir being the guide in every student's life. All the actors doing a phenomenal job in portraying their characters with perfection and realism.

Most importantly, Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. The backbone of the Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai family. Blessing us with a story as beautiful as this.

Thank you so much for giving us Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai

Congratulations to the entire team, cast, and crew of Yeh un dinon ki baat hai... πŸ‘πŸ₯³

I am not a avid soap watcher and after my favourite show ended and how it ended, just couldn't

get interested in watching any other. The promos of this show, the bg music and especially

Sadiya's VO caught my attention. There was so much freshness in it and what to say about

Naina. Still, I had my doubts as teenage stories are never dealt with sensitivity that is

required. Very hesitantly, I started watching the episodes. Then, fell in love with Naina,

Naina's love for Sameer and finally in their love for each other!! Here, I am, making sure that I do not miss a single epi..

Nine months and 200 epis have gone by. Watching this show has been a incredible journey with

the characters and their lives!! πŸ‘

From school to Delhi to college phase - each one of these has been beautifully handled βοΈ, never

did I get a feeling that  I have seen these scenes or heard these dialogues before.

Story telling, dialogues, music, scenes gel so well together. πŸ‘

Another point that stands out so well in this show is the equal importance that is given to

the supporting characters of the leads, be it the family members or their friends. Can anyone

imagine Samaina without mundit, swapree, chacha, chachi, taiji, tauji or the teachers in the

school and now in college??βοΈπŸ‘

Wish I could pick my most favorite scenes or scenes from these 200 epis. Most of them are

close to my heart for one reason or the other!!

Sharing a beautiful thread of Samaina scenes that I found on twitter -a very lovely compilation of Samaina scenes-- https://twitter.com/sanyobajaj/status/970685191462248449

Credit to the uploader πŸ‘

A special word of appreciation and applause to the young cast of this show: Ashi, Randeep,

Ayesha, Sanjay, Raghav, and Kristina, whose spontaneous and natural portrayal of their

characters have endeared them to the viewers!!

To the entire team of YUDKBTH: Thank you for giving us this wonderful and engaging show βοΈβοΈβοΈ.

Wishing the show many, many, many more miles and milestones!!

"I want to congratulate entire team of YUDKBH for achieving this mark of completion of 200 episodes. TV industry is in a very competitive space currently. Channels and production houses are churning out content on a continuous basis to make an entry into viewer's heart. However, viewers have umpteen number of choices available currently on offline and online media. Hence, its very difficult to please them and engage them for a very long time. Its in this background we get this serial which in a way is completely "hat ke" as it doesnt not have regressive content, over the top drama, fancy costume and big stars. Despite of that it has touched chord of viewers heart. Its only because of bringing out that era of 90s which many have lived and many are seeing and yearning to live. Its also because it has a content which is real and practical. It has a subtle message of life lessons and how memories to be cherished. It has music background of golden era gone by. It has almost new star cast but a very talented one. If all these factors come together than why would viewers not like to watch it πŸ˜Š. I want to thank the production team to bring in all these factors together to dish out which we really enjoy watching it during weekdays and missing it during weekends. I want to thank the entire team which is working in background to make sure that the entire package comes together. I want to thank entire cast for being able to execute what back end conceives. Pl continue to work hard and provide us with good story line and we shall continue our love on you. Thank you again for showing what I have lived and how I can adjust my current life to get that happiness and memories back in life πŸ˜Š"

First of all, I want to thank the who thought this concept and appreciate the actors for their dedication. I am so impressed with this show at first because it is about 90s and school days.. I used to troll my mom for watching daily soaps and after this show It became Mom's turn to take revenge on meπŸ˜†. Now my whole family watches this show. Never intrested in love story, but this show gives fresh vibes. First I struggle to understand and needed the help of english written updates, but now I can understand hindi without any subtitle😊.

So, This is what I learned from this show along with some values of true love and dedication towards relationships. This show is lil more than a mere entertainment for me.

My hearty congratulations for 200 episodes of my one and only favorite show. I wish this show runs for loonnggg time.❀️

Yeh un dino ki baat hai is a name which always brings a smile on my face makes me feel happy.i started watching it coz it was a teen story and me myself a teen found the concept interesting..

When i watched it for first time i could relate so much to naina and fell for sameer the very first moment i saw him.i found all the actors adorable.this show was a relief for me as i grown up watching saas bahu sagas as no choice was left in indian dramas. This one is different.the way naina fell for sameer in first sight nd their love story forced me to believe in love earlier i used to find it a bollywood  filmy concept.
It shows the real situations of our life.people like taiji exist.i love all the characters.

This serial taught me many things be confident like sameer ,be honest ans sweet like naina, respect elders, tge virtue of true friendship and many more uncountable things

This will always remain in my heart and will watch it till the end no matter what will happen..

Love this show and all actors.

This show has made many viewers travel down the memory lane and relive the era of 90s, but apart from that this show holds a very important place in my heart as it portrays my personal belief of love. Love is a force that can move the universe - and anyone watching this show would believe this. Its heart warming to see such an honest representation of love, friendship and family. Many congratulations to the entire team of Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai for doing such a splendid job! And Thank You for giving us this amazing show... Wishing many more successful milestones!
