GAURI KUMARI SSARMA ON A SLAYING SPREE

What amazing dialogues! Like who's the dialogue writer for Gauri these days? Whoever it is, is doing a marvelous job.

"Aap yeh sab isliye kar rahe hai, kyunki aapko pachtaava hai. I was expecting this dialogue from Gauri, and she delivered. And truly Om hasn't done anything yet to make her think that he is not doing this only out of guilt. Even the audience isn't convinced that Om is in love, toh GKS has full rights to be angry at him.

"Ek vaqt tha jab hum patni shabd sunne ke liye taras gaye the, par aaj jab hum kisi aur ke hone jaa rahe, tab aap haq jataane aa gaye? There was a similar dialogue for Zoya in Qubool Hai, where she had said there was a time when she wanted Asad to confess his love, but when he finally did, there was no meaning in it, it was too late.

Truly Gauri did everything to earn the status of Om's wife, but Om never cared. Now that she is moving on (at least in Om's eyes), he comes back to claim his right as husband?!? The audacity of the guy!

"Dadi hamesha Bade-Bhaiyaa aur Bhaujai ke ishqbaazi ki misaal deti,...kyunki woh takkar ki ishqbaazi hai, woh dono ek dusre ko neecha nahi dikhaate, woh ek dusre ko baraabar samajhte hai. Par aapne humein kabhi apne baraabar nahi samjha, hamesha humse do kadam aage chalte rahe. Now here we have a slight problem. No offense Gauri, but Shivaay didn't consider Anika his equal for the longest time.

But Gauri doesn't know all this. She entered their lives when Shivika were finally on the same page in their relationship, so I don't blame her. Still, I think its unfair to blame Om for not considering Gauri his equal, because he actually never considered her beneath him. But Gauri is right in one aspect. Just because she always sacrificed her self-respect to save his life, he did treat her like nothing, and never acknowledged what she has done for him. And more than this, Omkara in his self-righteousness wrecked a lot of damage on Gauri's self-respect, and believed that Gauri deserved shitty treatment.

And now the dialogue, that impressed me the most. "Agar hum aap ke saath woh sab karte jo aapne kiya, baar baar aapki bezzatti karte, baar aapke charitra pe ungli uthaate, toh kya aap humein maaf kar dete? Yes! This immediately reminded me of Pooja (played by Shabana Azmi to perfection) in Arth, who asked her husband the same question that if she had an affair like he did, would he have forgiven her?.

Truly Om, would you have forgiven Gauri if she would have cast aspersions on your character and insulted you all the time, like you did? I was glad that Om had the decency to look shamefaced. He knows he's wrong. Why is it always expected of women to forgive men's mistakes and move ahead? Why should Gauri forgive, when Om wouldn't extend the same courtesy to her? Why should she sacrifice always?

And the killer dialogue, " Aap isilye yeh shaadi rokna chahte hai, kyunki jo aapka tha woh kisi aur ka hone jaa raha hai. Long back when Om had carried out his psychotic plan for the break-up I had made a post about how Om's love is selfish and toxic. Thats why he punished Gauri in that diabolic way, because he thought that she used him and chose someone else. I'm glad that Gauri also thinks like me. She hit the nail with this dialogue that Om has come back now only when he is seeing her marry someone else. He's reacting now to make up for his mistakes. Yes, he is sorry but that does not make him deserving of Gauri's love.

Tomorrow, Gauri might forgive Om easily, because the script demands that the FL and ML should unite. It is a mark of 4 Lions PH, that the ML will be forgiven for his assholery without even trying. So, yes, Gauri will yet again set aside her self-respect to return to a man who doesn't deserve her love/devotion.

But today let me take pride and say that Gauri Kumari Ssarma ruled today! And for even one day, she is a queen!
