In an attempt to justify Nimki and her father's characterisation, the makers showed us the flashback of what had happened to Nimki's mother..

Nimki's mother was a good singer and an ambitious woman. When she got a chance to prove herself she went against her husband and chose her career. Monl was a baby then. However, Mahua didnt seem to be that young to not know her mother had left them all of a sudden.

This does justify why Nimki doesn't want to make a career of her own but instead want a rich husband who would keep her happy. Probably she believes Rambachan's poverty made her mom frustrated to do something like that. Thats why she believes its the duty of the husband to fulfill his wife's wishes however weird they might be. She wants her husband to do everything her father failed to do as a husband. But admist everything she is as ambitious and self absorbed as her mother. Her mother knew shw was a great singer. Nimki knows she is beautiful. Her mother didnt care about he children while pursuing her dreams. Nimki doesn't want to care about anything when its about her dreams.

Rambachan has lost a dear one by stopping her from fulfilling her dreams. He doesn't want to repeat the same mistake by stopping Nimki from fulfilling her dreams.

Probably Nimki and her father didn't tell Mahua what's there in that letter so she may not know the truth.
But right from the beginning they have been giving hints about hidden past of Nimki and her father and Nimki has been shown to have conflicting emotions towards her mother.
But one thing is obvious;more than her mother's exit it's her father's upbringing which made Nimki like this.

Rambachan is a weakman but he did bring up Mahua and Monu quite well.They know how to look after themselves.

Rambachan instead of preparing the girl to face the world and teach her to fulfil her ambitions through hardwork he catered to all her whims and fancies.

Not in detail but that her mother was not there one fine day. Its not a natural exit. By the way, Mono doesn't know how his mother died. Probably Mahua too doesn't know how she died.Thats a bit confusing because she was old enough.

I have a feeling that she is very much alive. Bua track will reveal more I suppose.

Why didn't she come back though? if she succeeded surely she would have whisked her family away or if she failed she would have come running back. Is there more to it?

Probably, she didn't have the guts to face her family or may be Rambachan had shifted to a new place to save his children's future. That is why even the villagers seem to have no idea about Ram's wife. No one talks about her as if she never existed.

I think Rambachan needed help then but he couldn't ask for it. It was a tricky situation. He needed counselling and proper guidance himself to help Nimki. That he chose not to talk about his wife, to throw away all her memories and to hide her existence from other two children has created this situation today.His fear of failure, of losing another dear one has made him a weak man. He wants accept all her flaws without contradicting or questioning her.Its not about Nimki but its about himself. He doesnt want to be a failed father after being labelled as a failed husband.The constant fight of proving himself has caused more harm to Nimki than what her mother's abandonment has caused.

Instead of making Nimki a strong person who should have learnt to confront her secrets and the biggest truth of her life, he made her an escapist.

Again and again I reiterate...it happens...and it is a harsh reality. Plsss accept it... This is No new. Thr r evn fkn filthy rich class who desperate to mk their daughters actressses and get them tied to filthy rich family men /directors etc. We hv lot of live examples. And they dont even bother to see fkn age differences. Its Not just Rama. And the live eg...what i say is heck the mothers are more avracious for daughters. Here atleeeast Ram gave lot of thought ...

What are you talking about? Thats not even the question here. Also, Ram never tried or tutored his daughters to trap rich men

The rishtas that came for Nimki were all of his standard only.

Ram is a caring father. Although weak he does stand up against anyone who abuses his daughters, be it Jhwria or Nahar. He is not using his daughter or else he wouldn't have been hurt when Masi accused him of the same. When Mahua said she believed only Abhimanyu can be Nimki's suitor he said that was not possible because Nimki and Abhimnayu belongedto two different worlds.

Yes, he has ignored all the danger signs with respect to Nim ki's marriage just like his daughter because Nimki is happy about the alliance. He doesn't have the guts to contradict her after what his wife did when he tried to stop her. Once bitten twice ahy.
