MANAN FF - LOST or STOLEN

After a long tiring day... i was just walking on the road on my way back home...but i was really not intending to be back home so soon... so kept taking the roads which took longer to reach...the darkening of the sky slowly and steadily seemed just as its predicting my switched off mood and my grumpy face...just when i was almost lost in my thoughts ,i started to smile ...beaming in happiness... it was a balooon...high in the sky ..i loveddd them because they could fly...yeahhh wierdly funny... i related everything that flies to the sense of freedom and just on the note of seeing and sensing that freedom made me crazily happy.i was just about to catch hold of the baloon and it flew farther ...later i realized it was someone else whose holding it...my grumpy face was back with a pout to be added .

just while i was done walking and thinking and finding it irritating... i decided to head back home... and just then a small boy who was passing by stopped by me and handed over a paper ...it seemed like some flyer and i dint bother to read it...but i hated when flyers were thrown on the roads right in front of the person who hands it to you.so i usually tried doing something useful out of them and preferred not to throw...hence i just kept it in my bag and was leaving ...while he smiled at me ...like a really bright smile and gave me a baloon and left without saying another word...i looked around and found no one... so i shrugged and left home.

once i was home and after what seemed like an hour or two...while i played songs on radio...watched my fav Tv show... had dinner and got bored and went to bed... i just tried to keep the flyer in the stack pf flyers which i piled up and had to put to use...but somehow it seemed different...there was no address... no name of company...no memes..nothing..just plain text...which said.

Hey,

we hope you're doing well in your life.and why not? you have the whole world around you to make you feel good and in the name of returning the favors all you got to do is just reciprocate with a smile... smile at the one you cross by.. smile at the one who smiles to you... because everyone needs it , to behold their hopes ... to kick start their day on a good note... to keep their worries at a bay...and your smile does JUST that...

Yes... this was the simple plain text it had on the flyer, though it confused me a little at the wierdness of reporting a lost smile... that made me smile peacefully for some reason and HUH my so very endless day came to a happy end while i dozed offf with the flyer in my hand...

and my precious sleep was crushed to pieces the moment i heard the irritating sound of the vacuum cleaner and woke up with a grumpy face...

angrily i started shouting " Bhaiii... pleaseee ask ramu kaka to stop that na pleasee"

and on receiving no response i got down the bed stomping my feet and walked straight while my eyes were still struggling to face the morning light and THUDdd...!!! i hit the door and fell on the ground... "WHAT THE...HELL" how did this door come up over night ?? i thought and then slowly as i opened my eyes to see around me... i realised where i am...it took me time for my mind to rewind the current status of my life and yeahhh...!!!!

REWIND :

back to the day where all this started from...!!! "Hey my little princess,wake uppp...!!!"said my brother Harshad ,little did he know that i was not on the bed but standing right behind him waiting for my b'day gifttt...!!! he looked around my room and was surprised to not find me ... as he was the first one to wish me on my birthday every year.. and just when he turned around to leave ,his eyes flashed with happiness on seeing me .."NANDINI ???

" Nanduuu , tu yaha hai??? Happyyy b'dayyy bachaaa" and saying this he hugged me and i hugged him back to say thank youuu bhaiii .and while we brother - sister were busy wishing and thanking each other, ramu kaka came running to us with the intercom in his hand and said harshad baba and handed the phone saying its our dad's call and left. meanwhile on the call dad was all the very happy to wish his little girl the birthday wishes and when he was about to talk i heard my mom shouting and singing happy b'day alreadyyy and they both started fighting over the phone againnn...!!!

dad : listen tiya , i already was on the line na to wish my princess ...so i had to wish first na...

mom: ha ..so??? did i stop youuu?

dad : y did u wish before me ?

mom : mr.ahujaaa ,now can u stoppp fighting with me and wish her??? she's waitinggg

and right when my dad was started to wish happy...my mom said the remaining "b'day my darlinggg daughter ... now tell me what you want??? anything for you ..u name it..and you'll have it..."by now my dad was fuming in anger and came straight to my room,handed over his mobile to my bhai ,told him something in sign language and hugged and wished happy b'day...and the same moment i heard my mom saying all the harmless abuses to dad for doing this ...he had made a video call to mom and handed the mobile to bhai to hold it while he wishes me ...hahahahahah ...!!!! yeahhh ONE crazy family i have...let me introduce them to you..

my father Mr.Sumit Ahuja is a well known neuro surgeon of the country.my mother tiya ahuja,she is the most wonderful musician ever...!!! As she had to attend a classical music event in newyork so she was there today and they have decided to wish me over the phone as they always wish me together on my b'day and being the tom and jerry of the house how could they miss on entertaining us on this beautiful day of my life...!!

My beloved brother Sharman Ahuja, has etablished himself in the world of the business with his chain of restaurants across our country.other than handling his business bhai has another full time job of being my protector,my gaurd and its an under statement to say he is protective of me.And me Nandini ahuja is celebrating my birthday after finally completing my graduation and innumerable hobby classes ,still stuck thinking what to do ...???

well thats it for todayyy...

i know its tooo small to be updated as a chapter but ,trust me there will be surprises.

he had made a video call to mom and handed the mobile to bhai to hold it while he wishes me ...hahahahahah ...!!!! yeahhh ONE crazy family i have..

And the next day,when mom came back from her Newyork trip...i was eagerly waiting for my ACTUAL BIRTHDAY GIFT... and not to mention the amount of stress i had .. though i knew sharman would make my wish granted ,but HOW he would convince ma and pa was just blowing my mind...and ya as i forgot to mention. sharman and I had not much of an age difference...he was just 3 years elder to me and i usually never call him BHAI..its only when i'm stressed,or over whelming is when i seem to call him so... for the everyday mention i call him just sharman and yeah even though he is protective of me .We are never less of a competition to mom and dad's tom and jerry image.so here came the moment i was dying for.

mom was back and was talking to pa in the living room while sharman went and joined them ,it was a part of his plan...and shortly ,i was supposed to join.so i was waiting for my queue to make an entry. i was keenly concentrating on their conversation.

Sharman started his conversation ... so,Maaa... how was your event ? all went well? for which mom smiled and said while ruffling his hair, yeah it was great except i missed my daughters b'day .her face fell when she said the last part and then pa and sharman came forward to her adding together.hey, no problem at all we can surprise her now.we all know what she loves,they said with a smirk on their faces.soon sharman paused for a bit and said ..actually,ma i have her wishlist and i kind of granted it for her.ma and pa had their faces lit up with a wide smile as they heard him say.little did they know the idea of granting my wish would be such a tough decision to make.

sharman said pa she wants to move to another city.and pa without wasting a second said ,so change the base of your office sharman .i anyways will choose another hospital and tiya would find her students anywhere ,so no big deal.for which sharman slowly said pa she wants to go alone.and mom shouted WHATtt alone?? why? .ma please let her do this na. she wants to find herself.and make her own identity just like we all did.he knew how exactly to convince them because ,though we are happily having a great time together,our family has gone through a lot.as you all can see everyone has their own identity,each one had a career which doesn't even come close to the other and when me and sharman were in our school it was way difficult for mom and dad to stay together and be there for us everyday as mom had her concerts and events to attend to and dad anyways was a surgeon and one of the busiest in town.sometimes they would have to stay in a particular city or state or country for longer and one fine day they decided dad would take sharman along with him and i would go with mom.but me and sharman never agreed to it and were hell bent to stay at our home together ,eventually they had no option other than hiring a care taker and we now are kind of making up for all those times when we were not together and missed each other.after all this there was no way mom and dad would not agree on our decision of making our own career choices and being independent. so they agreed for me going alone and i made my entry acting unaware of whats going on.they saw me and made gestures to each other and sharman said looking at me,so here you go choti...your wish is granted my child he said dramatically.i just hugged sharman..and all smiled and pa said looking at me,so where do you want to shift? so that we can make arrangements to make your stay comfortable.and slightly releasing the hug sharman gave a look to me and i responded with an pleaseee wala look and he started with a sigh...hmmm...wo... pa... she will let us know later.for which i elbowed him and he said ...wo actually she doesn't want us to know where she's going ...mom and dad looked at each other and moved forward and said in unison NOOO WAYYY ...and before sharman could react they said ...DROP IT sharman its not gonna happen...sharman quickly said in pauses ,but she will call us ..like a video call...daily...at 7 pm.with this their shoulders seemed to loosen a bit and he added,and if she misses any day on it,she would be back home...here was my turn to stamp on his feet and glare at him.to which he shouted in mute mode and hit my hand and said in a whisper,tumhe jana hai ya nai...??? .i stared at him and mutely said sharmannn this is not what we planned.ye video call kaha se agaya? and he said ,yeahh right..!! mai kya genie hu? jo tera har wish grant kardunga?. which means..you cheated on granting a wish...? howww meannn...meann ki bachi...you know i can change the whole thing for you by saying just one word and you may land up staying in the same house untill you get married right?? and this statement of his made me shut my mouth and we both looked back at our parents who were waiting to say yes after we finish our small nokh-jhok moment.

They looked at us with a stern look and said together. ONLY IF YOU CALL EVERYDAY . one miss and you're here the next day.for which i moved forward and almost shouted in happiness.Thank youuu ma... thanks pa... and was about to hug them while they gestured me and on following what their eyes pointed ,i saw sharman in all dramatic mode making expressions as if he was left out and ignored.i pulled him towards us and we had a family jhappi.

That was the way my birthday wish was granted and then i started to live it.
