It's been two years since Imtiaz Ali's
Tamasha released which starred Ranbir
Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the leads.
The film received mixed reactions from
people, some loved it and the movie
impacted their lives in a beautiful way, while
others failed to understand the movie.
During an interaction with a leading daily,
Imtiaz shared how people have come up to
him and spoke about the ways Tamasha
changed their life. He stated, "Wherever I go
now, I meet very passionate people who say
that Tamasha has affected them positively
and changed their lives. I am actually
surprised by the number of people who
have come up to me and said very
passionate things how after watching a
scene in the film or the film as a whole, they
decided to change their career. I can see it
in their eyes that they are not lying."
When asked about the box-office response
Tamasha received, Ali further said, "Of
course, I would like all my films to do well
and would want all views to be positive, but
that is never the case. Then I understand
that people will have opinions and if it is
coming from a point of honesty, then I think
negative reviews are as good as positive
views."
A couple of days back, to commemorate two
years of Tamasha, Imtiaz took to Facebook
to share an anecdote from one of the first
movie screening. Imtiaz said, "The day
Tamasha released Ranbir and I sat in a
corner of PVR Icon. Deepika was pacing up
and down. Our first show was running.
Then she asked me - "How do you think the
film will do? I answered without thinking -
"It will take at least two years for us to find
out how this film has done. It's going to be
two years of Tamasha guys and now we
would like to know how it has done. Could
you tell us? Send in comments and videos.
Thanks."

2 years of Tanasha, 11 years of Dhoom 2...  Are these some children's birthdays to celebrate every year?

Yes, in a way imtiaz is right. The film attained a sort of cult status after a year of its release...a la Dil se ðŸ˜†.

Though not being flawless or perfect it was well intentioned and relatable.

The film took us through a journey of a tormented soul who tries to explore life and love beyond the shackles of the society. Imtiaz made the journey fascinating, but not fulfilling.

Two big takeaways for me in this film :
Ranbir & Deepika - they elevated the self indulgent script of Imtiaz a few notches higher and made it immensely watchable with their conviction.
A.R. Rahman - his foot tapping, soulful tunes blended beautifully with the key moments in the narrative.

Imtiaz's facebook anecdote was cute.😊
