Like Sanjay Leele Bhansali does  mainly period films
Zoya Akhter does mainly urban film
Raju Hirani does mainly satires

One running trope of IA films is heroine breaking up with fiance/husband because of lover.

Socha Na Tha- In the climax heroine runs away from her engagement
JWN- Geet breaks up with Anshuman for Aditya
LAK- Deepika divorces husband for Saif
Rockstar- Heer sort of cuts ties with husband for Jordan
Highway- Mahi breaks up with fiance
Tamasha- Deepika breaks up with boring boyfirend.

I think Imtiaz is the only Director in BW who keeps rehashing his own films. How many times will he make these soul searching cum travel movies where ML or FL is already committed to someone else? Like seriously! 🥱

if jhms has one song that becomes huge like adhm etc it can be good but so far every song nd mini trailer was underwhelming

His movies are not about the stories but more about the interactions each character has, more about their journey and their arcs. It is more about people discovering themselves or each others. His movies are not perfect and they are meant to be. They however stay with a viewer long after the movie has finished. 👏

I dont know if he is repetitive but he is a pseudo-intellectual who thinks he is making path breaking and thought provoking cinema while the actual product is a sordid mess 😆

its the same thing over and over again,  You can see the same stuff same references in all his films, I see similarities between tamasha and JHMS too some of the bits seem very similar ..
