Now back to KNK... πŸ˜†

I can't believe no one mentioned/discussed anything about Ayna and Sajal making up scene on Monday!! MoNa gang - what are your views on that?

My view - I thought it was okay...I mean I am happy that the sisters have made up with each other but think it could been better scripted there...the makers could have made this scene more powerful...

Yeah I liked the concept of it ... it's different n something I hvnt seen before being addressed

I liked how the show is about how misaal is LITERALLY torn between emaad n Rabab

And emaad n Rabab has done full justification in their respective roles of showing their love for misaal but how it gets distorted between their new family

Hina altaf is so good here as misaal

The show is not only about zaalim saas n nand torturing Rabab the way I thought it to be seeing the fire 7 to 8 epis

The main theme is something else n it's very well shown

The other kids r terrible actors

So I forward most of their scenes

Saifee track was faltu but the actor played the role well

The gal playing emaads 2nd wife is good as well

Plus emaad mom n sis wasn't shown unnecessarily evil

And it has muneeb butt as well...he looks and acts good here n his mom is ayna mom ...so I m liking their scenes too

I m in epi 18

Many more to go

Review EP44:

Preface: If you are angry about the MaAnia hogging all the footage of the show, please read my post of pg 33 πŸ˜† And Live reviews start of page 34

okay, on with the show we go
-----

In retrospect, The initial scene with Affaq in the coffeeshop should've been eye-opening for us/me but I was too bust fangirling over Umer to notice πŸ˜†

We've always seen Affaq as grey shaded and not quite noble hearted but we've never fully grasped how "grey" or evil he can get and if this whole episode wasn't centered around this idea then I don't know what was. Affaq can be cold and hard and dangerous. So far we've only seen him greedy and lying but the way he behaves with Zaabi ...

Okay I know Zaabi isn't a goody goody either but no girl should be manhandled and have a man grab her throat in an attempt to strangulate her...and this is after they were is an alleged relationship and broke up, they even unsuccessfully eloped. 😳

I'm all for Affaq's character development but I want him to change as a person. Not just a man who gives Taabi more respect. ...He should respect all.

---The Alia-Taabi scene

This scene was of epic magnitude

The words Taabi hit back at Alia with. she low-key told Alia everything we as viewers wanted to tell her when we first met her. Remember that Tarbiyat wala dialogue..πŸ‘

I always have said that KNK is a social drama just as well and Fobby has always said that Raania, Taabi and Ayna have been role models as they have chosen different pathways in life but have been committed and not forced into any of them. where as we always had been annoyed by Alia and her hypocrisy..

and truth be told. there are so many women out there in real life--even I am guilty of it too--that are bringing other women down...not to go into a whole feminism speel but that dialogue that Taabi uttered "Aap mera kabhi saath nahi dehgi" was I feel directed at the audience as well..

Ash--I completely agree with the post you made regarding this on pg 37.
Although I've been continuously blaming Alia for the way Affaq has been brought up, one really needs to understand the reason Alia is like this. She's seen it all around her and probably in her brothers as well. ( we all know what pre-leap mohsin was all about) it only makes sense that she makes the same excuses for her son that she heard other people make for their sons and tells Taabi the same "sabr and izzat" dialogues that she heard all her own life.

--The confrontation/MoNa scene

We see Alia defending Affaq even though Affaq doesn't want to be defended..

see, the whole show revolves around "hidden secrets" there are problems the characters have faced and instead of facing them head on and dealing with the consequences they "hide them" so that society doesn't judge them blatantly...

Ayna committed a mistake. She ran away, got a nikkah done, got a talaq, got blamed for her mother's death, got pregnant, was "hidden way in sajal's house" and then had to give up her child. and for the last 20-25 years, she's had to live with that secret...

We saw how much that brought Ayna down and the depression she went through. Remember the Rain sequence where she yells at Mohsin and falls to the floor. and then Mohsin is like come inside, people can see you or something like that..

If only she feared not being judged and tarnished. she could've continued to live a life not in fear... say what you will but even today in her life, she can't live carefree because that secret is a constant hurdle in her happiness.

Same with Affaq. If Affaq had the oppurtunity to admit. yes, he made a mistake by wanting to get married to that girl and eloped. only if wasn't successful and so he's moved on and wants to get married to Taabi..

Does it realistically make sense that Mohsin would've been like oh okay.

" Affaq you made a mistake, but because you truly love my daughter. you can marry her...no.." Mohsin would've not wanted Taabi to marry "tarnished Affaq" which is why Affaq didn't admit to this despite so many opportunities..

That being said.

That's why the following scene between Mohsin and Ayna is so important, both Ayna and Affaq have made mistakes but their intentions were pure..they wanted the best for themselves and those around him..
If Mohsin can forgive Affaq and see the reasoning behind his motive then he can do the same for Ayna

---The jail scene

that jail sequence was important too because he finally came to the ehsaas their. in my opinion. when Zaabi came and said now Taabi will never marry you. I think that was the moment it finally got through his head. but that being said, it showed he actually started loving Taabi because he didnt talk about the car or the house or furniture but Taabi
