For Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, it was time to pull out the tuxedo, shave off his scruffy beard and head on over to the 60th San Francisco Film Festival. The actor, who was being honoured with a special tribute at the festival, sat down for an in-depth conversation with American filmmaker Brett Ratner.

Addressing SRK as "one of the world's most recognised film personalities", Brett led the discussion by talking about Bollywood, a proposal for a Hollywood film collaboration, dealing with failures, and even a little jig for the fans.


According to reports, SRK shared his views about the things Bollywood can learn from Hollywood, sighting good screenplay and dialogue writers as one of the points to improve back home.

He was even asked about how he would adapt a Hindi film for a global audience. To this, Shah Rukh said that his dress code would have to be reinvented and that the films would have to be cut short along with the number of songs. He, however, felt that the melodrama, emotions and traditions could be left untouched.



Brett who was all praises for Shah Rukh at the event expressed his desire to work with the star in a Hollywood movie saying, "One day I want to make Rush Hour's sequel in India with SRK in it."

The two even loosened up on stage dancing to the star's hit dance number 'Lungi Dance' from the film 'Chennai Express'. Brett followed in SRK's lead as they held on to their trousers and got grooving with the audience going wild with excitement.

It wasn't too long ago when SRK's former co-star Deepika Padukone also had a number of American personalities, including Vin Diesel grooving to the dance number.

Shah Rukh also revealed that he locks himself in his bathroom and cries when his films don't do well at the box office. He also went on to point out that it is a good practice for both men and women to cry. The actor ended the discussion by narrating the Ammi jaan' dialogue from his film 'Raees'. It was followed by a screening of 'My Name Is Khan'.
