I'm wondering -- did the family ever find out about Lakshman - that he died in the forest? Did he get his final rites?

What I liked about today's episode was 2 things. One the fundamental knowledge that blind worship is not correct. We all come in this world for a particular purpose. Through our actions we are supposed to contribute to this world for its betterment. Whenever someone's purpose is over they have to leave the body and go. If you are alive means, if you are breathing means your purpose is not over. And to complete the purpose you have to do actions. A life wasted without doing the right actions to get the purusharth that is dharma, arth, kama in both physical and emotional realm is wastage of a beautiful life we have got. Ram dissuading his praja from following him with this beautiful life message told the essence of Ramayana.
Next is Hanuman. Once again even in grief Hanuman remembers his duty. He assures and shows Siyaram in his heart. Why Siyaram in Hanuman's heart and what is its significance. Siyaram represents the masculine and feminine aspects in each of us. Hanuman is a person who has the knowledge of both this aspects and uses it according to the situation. Narayan does the same in Krishna avatar.
All of us have this feminine and masculine aspects inside us. Unfortunately because of the gender roles the society have put we are unable to connect to this other aspect which is inside us. A man cannot connect properly with feminine aspect and a woman cannot connect with masculine aspect. That's why we need the opposite sex for a completion feeling. A daughter is more attached to father, a son to mother. Hus -wife feel completion through both physical and emotional union. If we train ourselves to connect with the other aspect we will be complete within us and will not need any exterior support for gratification. That's why Hanuman remains Brahmachari and Krishna irrespective of leading a life of Grihsthashrami is called Nithya Brahmachari. Because he is attached yet detached.
Look at the way Hanuman shows Siyaram. By removing the ornaments. Only when Sanskriti's Maya is removed we will be able to tap our Prakriti, understand what is inside us and make connections. A girl can better connect with man if her father teaches her properly to connect with masculine aspect. A boy can connect well with woman if the mother teaches him to connect properly with feminine aspect.
In our present society so much of compartmentalization has resulted in people fighting for superiority and not coexistence. People want to prove who is superior. Existing ethos says man. Feminism wants to show woman. But that is not the truth. Both are needed in right quantity for the balance. That's why in Hanuman's heart is Siya -Ram together. If we feel masculine aspects within us, as a woman understand that it exists. Instead of allowing it to create conflict, make it blend with your feminity. It's a tough task. But then nothing is impossible if you try. For that first learn when that aspect comes up, how that aspect comes up.Once you understand you will be able to blend. Don't ignore or suppress which we often do. Connect with our inner self. We will always find Siyaram there giving directions.
