I am back with another update of this story.

CHAPTER -9

Continuation of Manik's POV -

As I washed my finger to stop the blood from oozing out, Nandini's face flashed before my eyes.

I immediately turned back and saw my friends standing at the door.

I didn't want them to know about the cut so I put my hand in my pocket and said-Hey guys... How was the performance???

"It was rocking as usual" said Dhruv.

I looked at Cabir and the others whose faces were blank.

What's the matter guys??? Koi margaya kya? Tum logon aise shaklein kyu bana rakhi hai?

All of them smiled and said - Ha ha ha ha... Very funny...

I needed a friendly hug very badly and how can my friends not understand my inner turmoil.

The four of them joined me for a group hug.

This was the friendship of Fab5. My friends for life. They have always stood by me and always will.

In order to lighten the atmosphere I said -

So guys... Time for some drinks. What say ???

Cabir- Neki aur pooch pooch. Let's go. Car me saara arrangement kiya hua hai already.

"Tu to bahut fast nikla Cabir" said Mukti.

And pat came his reply - Drinks ke maamle me hamesha fast hi rehta hoon.

Mukti rolled her eyes and said- Haan Haan pata hai mujhe. Batane ki zarurat nahi hai. Ab chalein???

"Haan Chalo Maine kaunsa tumhare legs baandh diye hai" said Cabir.

All this while I observed that Aaliya was silent.

Aaliya tum itni chup kyu ho?

"Kuch nahi... Bas aise hi" she said.

All five of us left the venue and drove to a secluded place away from the city.

All of us got off the car and settled ourselves in whatever place was comfortable for each of us.

Cabir took out the wine bottles and handed it to each of us.

I was not in a mood to drink but didn't want to spoil the mood of my friends so I joined them.

As I lay myself on the bonnet of the car observing the stars, Cabir came and settled beside me.

I glanced at him and then shifted my gaze back to the stars as I knew what was coming next.

Though we had met few years back but still he knew me so well.

All my worries, my frowns and everything didn't go unnoticed by him. And I had to be careful with him as he had the power to extract every hidden secret that was buried deep inside my heart.

"So Manik... Let's play a game." He started the conversation.

I alerted my senses and said- What game?

Cabir looked at me and said - Don't worry mai tujhe itni raat ko cricket ya football khelne ke liye nahi bolraha hoon. It's just a simple word game.

Cabir and his bad sense of humour. I would have killed him if he wasn't my friend.

"So are you ready" he said.

I knew he wouldn't leave me till he is done with his stupid games and so I said - Do I have any choice? Go ahead...

It's so simple. Mai ek word kahunga and tumhe us word ko sunke sabse Pehle Jo cheez yaad aaye wo bolna. Haina simple.

I rolled my eyes and said- Ok.

"So the first word is- Sky."

Me- Stars.

Cabir- Cabir.

Me - Idiot.

And I let out a chuckle to which he hit me on my shoulder.

Me- Oye. Tune hi to kaha tha ki I can say any word which comes to my mind.

"Ok fine. Let's continue" he said.

Cabir- Fancy.

Me- Cars.

Cabir - Music.

Me- Passion.

Cabir -Friendship

Me- Life.

Cabir- Ok. Best friend.

Me- Aditi...

Cabir - Aditi??? Ye Aditi kaun hai???

It is then that I realised what I said.

I got down the car and said- Koi nahi. Guys let's get back to our homes. It's too late.

Mukti, Aaliya and Dhruv who were unaware of this Conversation of Cabir and me agreed to my words. But Cabir looked at me with suspicion .

But I ignored him and we got back to our homes.

Once I reached my room, I shut the door immediately and bolted it as I didn't want anyone to disturb me.

I quickly got into my night wear and lay on the bed recollecting the game of Cabir.

When Cabir had asked me about Best Friend , I blurted out Aditi's name. But I don't deserve to take her name as I failed as a friend. I couldn't protect her and I couldn't stop her from going away so so so far away from me.

I couldn't see or tolerate even a single drop of tear from her eyes and always wanted to see her smiling face but one wrong decision broke our friendship. If at all I had a chance, I would have protected Aditi.

I still remember that when were 15 years old, she had her first breakup. It was so funny. I mean hard I had tried so that she could get over her First ever breakup.

I switched off the lights and closed my eyes tight and after lot of struggle, finally fell asleep.

CHAPTER -10

Two days after the conversation of Manik and Cabir.

Continuation of Manik's POV

"Who the hell is this? " I spoke over the phone.

"Sir it's me, Soha..." came the reply.

"Soha... Are you out of your mind? Is it the time to call me? Aisa kya kaam aagaya tha ki tumne Mujhe itni subah subah call Kia? I think You know ki tumhari is harkat ke liye mai Tumhe job se Nikal sakta hoon. Or should I say Nikal diya. You are fired. Ab tumhe office aane ki zarurat nahi hai." I tried to threaten her.

But I guess this threat didn't affect her as she spoke finally.

"Manik... I mean Sir ... Please calm down and ek baar meri baat sun lijiye" She said.

I could feel my lips purse with suppressed fury as I couldn't fire her from the job as Mom had hired her and only she can fire her. And knowing the fact that Mom would never fire her as she loves to torture me.

How I wish I could just leave everything and go far away from all this. But was bound by Friendship.

Damn it... I just hate myself...

And I took the glass from the table and threw it on the floor out of frustration.

"Sir... Are you there???" that moron spoke.

Kya hai.Jaldi bolo. I don't have the entire day to listen to your crap.

I vented my frustration over her to which she calmly replied - Sir I just wanted to let you know that you have to go to Goa for a concert.

"Are you ordering me?" I said .

"Yes Sir... No sir... I mean it's really important for you and your band. Aur ye last moment me decide hua hai isiliye aapko bata rahi hoon" She said.

"Kisne liya ye decision" I asked.

And her reply was surprising as she just said - Aliya Mam.

"Ok. Fine" I replied plainly and hung up the call.

I don't understand what's going on in Aliya's mind. Pata nahi usey achanak Goa jaane ke baare me kyu socha. I need to talk to her.

Ufff... Too complicated.

I got up from the bed throwing the comforter off my body and went to the washroom to get ready.

I stood under the hot water to relax my mind. Unlike the usual days,I took a little longer under the shower.

And then came out in a towel and got ready.

I wore a casual jeans and t-shirt and gelled my hair and I was done.

As I took my mobile, watch and wallet and walked towards the door of my room to go out, the door opened and Dhruv walked in.

He hugged me as soon as he entered.

This was something unexpected and very unlike the Dhruv I know.

I hugged him back and said - Dhruv... What's the matter? Is everything okay?

He didn't say anything and moved away from me.

"Manik us raat Maine tumhari aur Cabir ki baatein suni. Tumne Aditi ka naam liya tha. Maine suna. I know you miss her and so do I. After all we were the best of friends and inseperable too . " He said all this without looking into my eyes.

"Really Dhruv... Those were the best days of our lives and very memorable too." I replied getting nostalgic.

"Waise Manik tumhari baat Hui thi kya Aditi se before she..."

'I cut him in middle and said- No... I didn't get a chance to meet her. But usne message Kia tha ki wo tumse milegi but I think before that...'

"Nahi meri baat to nahi Hui thi usse... "said Dhruv

Our conversation was disturbed by Aliya who walked in to my room unannounced.

'Tum dono yahan kya kar rahe ho? Let's go. Mujhe tum dono ko ek important baat batani hai. Neeche Mukti aur Cabir wait kar rahe hai.' She said.

"Haan mujhe pata hai tumhari important baat. You are talking about the Goa Concert , Right" I asked.

She nodded and said- Right. Ab Chalo...

And she held Dhruv's and my hand and literally dragged us out of my room to the hall where Mukti and Cabir were present.

Mukti and Cabir said in unison - Good Morning Manik... How are you this morning.

"Do din se kaha gayab hogaya tha. Na hi phonecalls receive kiye aur na hi messages ka reply dia."Mukti said.

In order to divert the topic, I said - Tum dono ko kya hogaya? Aise interrogate kar rahe ho Jaise police chor ko interrogate karti hai. Chakkar kya hai?

And then pat came Mr. Cabir's reply - Interrogate to karenge hi na. Tum chor ki tarah chupte firoge to Hume bhi police banna padega to catch you.

I rolled my eyes and said- Ok fine I give up. Tum dono se baato me koi jeet nahi sakta.

Mukti and Cabir high fived each other on their victory.

"Guys... As you all know that we have to go to Goa for a concert so I was thinking why not make a fun trip?" said Aaliya.

"Sounds cool." said the evil twins.

I looked at Dhruv who was lost in Aaliya and understood that even he was Ok with Aliya's suggestion.

So even I agreed and said - Ok guys... Ab tum logo ne decide kar hi liya hai to even I am in.

With this we had a group hug - the Fab5 style.

"Let's go to the recording studio and finish off the final song of the album" suggested Mukti .

And we all agreed and went to my car to drive to the Studio.

As we all sat in the car, I saw someone coming towards the car in a hurry.

I observed closely and realised that it was Soha.

As she came near the car panting heavily.

"Soha... Are you mad? Aise bhag ke kyu aarahi ho?" I asked.

To which she replied - Sir wo actually apke song ke lyrics ka paper mere paas tha. So just came to give it to you.

As I took the paper from her hands, Mukti said - Dediya na paper... Ab jao. Aur time se pahuch Jana studio before we reach. So run.

Saying this Mukti laughed and Soha lowered her head.

As Soha turned back to leave, I said - Wait... You can come with us. Waise bhi tumhari khatara pe to ek ghanta lag jayega. Haina baby.

I just wanted to save her from being bullied by my friends.But that stupid had to show her smartness .

She said -It's Ok sir... I will manage .

I showed my eyes to her and ordered her- SIT...

To this she got scared and quickly opened the door of the car and sat beside me on the passenger seat as the backseat was occupied by my friends.

I shaked my head in disbelief and ignited the engine and drove off.

I looked at Mukti through the mirror and she gave a " Why did you do that look".

And I gave her an "Its ok" look and she looked away in anger.

This girl i tell you she is impossible.

I smiled inwardly as I drove the car.

And there we get stuck in the traffic jam again. Amazing...

As I waited for the traffic to get cleared, a small kid of around 10-12 years came to my car and said- Sahab please ye chashme le ko na.

"Nahi chahiye" Mukti said.

"Please Didi le lo na... Please... Dekhiye kitne ache hai ye..." The little one pleaded .

I couldn't stop myself from buying those. I bought five of those for myself and my friends and then looked at Soha who was sitting silently.

I don't know why I bought one for her as well.

As I gave the money to the kid , he got really happy and ran away.

Seeing the shades, a smile appeared on my face as it brought back the memories of Her.

Flashback :

I was busy in finishing my college project when she came and sat beside me.

She was talking to herself and I could hear some abusive language.

So I asked - What's the matter Doll? Ye apne Muh se phool Kiske liye barsa rahi ho?

And that was it for her. I guess she was waiting for me to ask this.

You know what Manik tum rich logon me na bilkul bhi tameez naam ki koi cheez nahi hoti. Pata nahi kya samajhte ho apne aap ko. Kya tum logo ke paas hi fashion sense hoti hai. Kya mai ya mere jaisi gareeb ghar ki ladki fashion nahi karsakti.

She blurted out all this in a go.

I kept my books aside and said- Doll... First of all. Tum mujhe kyu involve kar rahi ho is topic me. Maine kya Kia. And secondly who is that person jisne tumse panga lene ki himmat ki.

She said - Aur kaun tumhara friend Maddy. Pata hai mere ye glasses I mean in your language Shades dekh kar wo aur Uske dost mujhpe has rahe the. Keh rahe the ki mujhe fashion sense nahi hai. Mujhme... Can you believe it?

"Nahi nahi... He is wrong. You have an amazing fashion sense. Aur rahi baat in shades ki to Chalo abhi isko latest trend bana dete hai. Then to us Maddy ki bhi himmat nahi hogi tumhe Kuch bolne ki." I calmed her down.

Saying this I took out my mobile and dialled Aditi's number and explained her my plan.

She agreed and hung up the phone.

"Waise Doll get ready... Aaj Shaam ko Maddy ke ghar pe party hai and you are coming with me. " I said this with a smirk.

She immediately agreed.

In the evening we got ready and Aditi texted me that everything was set.

As the party was going on in full swing, me and Doll made a stylish entry hand in hand Wearing the shades.

As soon as we entered, Aditi showed Thumbs up to me and played the music.

As the song finished, everyone in the party had the same shades on as Doll's.

I had asked Aditi to distribute the shades to each and everyone in the party without Maddy's knowledge. It was too easy for her as we all were friends with Maddy and no one would question Aditi.

This angered Maddy and he left the party with his friends.

End of flashback.

As I came out of the flashback, I realised that the traffic had already cleared. So I immediately drove off from there.

Author's(That's me) pov- All this was observed by a pair of eyes which looked at the shades which Manik had bought from the kid and a huge smile appeared on that person's face.

CHAPTER -11

Manik's POV -

After a 20 minute drive we reached the recording studio.

You guys get ready, I will join you directly in the recording room after parking the car ' I said to my friends as I know that they all need hours to get ready.

All of them agreed and went in.

After parking the car, I was about to enter the studio when someone called me from behind.

I turned back and saw Soha standing there.

What is it Soha??? Why have you stopped me?

"Sir I just wanted to thank you. Aapne mujhe apni car me baithne diya . Agar aap aisa nahi karte to mai late hojati aur fir sabki daant Sunni padti mujhe." Soha said all this looking down.

"Soha listen... I don't need your thank you's. Maine ye sab tumhare liye nahi Kia. I didn't want our schedule to be delayed just because of you. Isiliye maine Tumhe apni car me baithne diya.Wo bhi mere sath. Aaj tak koi ladki ko Maine ye place nahi Di... the place which was reserved only for..." I stopped midway.

"I don't know what's wrong with me. Why am I discussing this with Soha? Manik control..." I thought to myself.

I looked at Soha who was still looking at the ground.

Anyways why does this girl always look down . She never looks at me while talking. Baaki logo se to aankh me aankh dalke baat karti hai. Then why doesn't she does the same with me.

"Soha Ab tumhara thanks session hogaya ho to andar chalein???"I said .

She again looked down and said- Yes sir...

"Listen... Look into my eyes while talking. Waha neeche kya dekh rahi ho?" I said this getting irritated.

Her reply made me laugh.

She said - Sir aap boss hai aur employee ko aise hi baat karni chahiye apne boss se.

"Whatever " I rolled my eyes and let out a chuckle and went inside .

(Author POV - Soha smiled and then entered the studio)

My friends were all ready and waiting for me in the recording room.

I went and joined them.

As I was about to take the guitar, Aaliya got a call.

She excused herself and rushed out of the recording room.

I looked at Dhruv who smiled back and said - Koi important call hoga Manik. Warna wo aise nahi jaati.

I just nodded and tuned my guitar.

After 5 minutes, Aaliya returned and said- Sorry guys... Mom ka call tha. Dobara disturbance nahi hoga.

"Ok guys let's start" I said as already a lot of time was wasted.

We started recording the song.

After finishing the song, all of us went to Dhruv's place to decide about our Goa Trip.

We were greeted by Dhruv's mother.

She is a sweet lady and a very caring Mom to Dhruv unlike my Mom who doesn't even care for me.

Dhruv's Mom loves all of us equally and pampers us the most.

"Hello Bachcho... Kaise ho tum log? " She said .

"We are fine Aunty.How are you?" We said.

She turned towards me and said - Manik Beta tum theek ho na? Tum itne dino tak kaha gayab hogaye the? Pata hai Dhruv aur Aaliya kitne worried the.

"Aunty I just wanted to spend some me time. But then how could I stay away from my friends for so long. So I am back." I said.

"That's great Beta. Ab tum log baatein karo mai sabke liye kuch khane ko laati hoon." Dhruv's Mom said and went to the kitchen.

When it comes to food how can Cabir keep quiet.

He followed Dhruv's Mom to the kitchen saying - Guys tum log discussion start karo mai Aunty ki help karke aata hoon.

All of us laughed and said in unison - Bhukkad.

After having snacks, we all planned our trip.

We decided to leave by tomorrow evening and would spend an entire week there.

After spending the entire evening there, I went back to My house and found my Mom waiting for me along with Soha.

"Soha tum yahan is waqt???" I enquired.

"Isey Maine bulaya hai.

Soha bata rahi thi ki tum Goa jaarahe ho for some concert and you are not taking her with you" Mom said.

"That's right. Ab mai jau. Mujhe neend aarahi hai" Saying this I walked towards my room.

Mom held my hand and said- Manik... Tum kabhi meri baat nahi sunte. But this time I want you to take Soha with you. And that's final."

I Let out a chuckle and said- Really Mom... Mai aapki har baat sunta hoon. Everytime I have to do whatever you say but fir bhi aap aise bolrahi ho. It's strange.

"Manik enough of this . Ye attitude change karo tum Pehle. See where this attitude of yours has taken you. Meri baat kabhi nahi maan ne ka natija hai ye sab ke aaj tum..." She stopped in between.

"Aaj mai what??? Bolo na ruk kyu gayi? Yahi kehna chahti ho na ki mere is attitude ki wajah se mai aaj bilkul Akela hoon. I don't have anyone with me who cares for me. Who loves me unconditionally... Yahi kehna chahti ho na aap? " I said all this looking straight into Mom's eyes.

And for the first time I saw pain in her eyes.

"Manik aisa nahi hai Beta. Mai hoon na tumhare sath. And hamesha rahungi. Kabhi ye baat apne dimag me mat laana. I am your mother and I know everything that's going on inside you for so many days. Mai sab theek kar doongi Beta. " Mom cupped M cheeks and said this.

I wanted to just forget all the tortures she had been doing on me and felt like hugging her but then I came back to my senses and jerked her hand.

"Mom please ye acting mat kijiye. I know you will never care for me. So why pretend. "

Saying this I walked away from there as I didn't want her to see the tears which had formed in my eyes.

I went to my room and locked it from inside.

I wondered why I saw pain in Mom's eyes.

Was she just pretending or was the pain real?

Does she really care for me?

No it can't be... Agar aisa hota to she would have shown her love long time back.

But then aaj achanak se aisa kya hogaya ki Mom ko meri parwah hone lagi.

Aur Soha yahan kya kar rahi thi?

Kya ye bhi koi plan hai Mom ka to torture me?

Whatever it is I won't let Soha and Mom spoil this trip.

Mom chahti hai na ki mai Soha ko sath leke jau. Ok fine. But this would be the worst trip for Soha. Mai usey itna Pareshan karunga ki wo khud hi job chodne ko majboor hojayegi.

I smirked and said- Soha get ready to see the worst side of Manik Malhotra.

And I went to sleep as tomorrow would be another hectic day for me.

Soha and Nyonika went to Nyonika's room.

Nyonika - Soha don't worry I am sure Manik tumhe sath lejayega Goa .

Soha - Aunty. But don't you think it's not good to force him.

Nyonika - I know Beta. But you should spend more and more time with him. Aur brace yourself for his tortures. Tumhe to pata hai na how evil he can get. Zarur Kuch na Kuch planning and plotting kar hi raha hoga wo tumhare against.

Soha - I know Aunty Manik... I mean Sir aur unke friends ke tortures ki aadat hogayi hai ab.

Nyonika - I am sure you will handle them well.

Soha - Aunty ab mai chalti hoon. Raat bahut hogayi hai. Maa akeli hogi ghar pe.

Nyonika - Ok Beta Good Night.

Soha - Bye Aunty. Good Night.

With this Soha left to her house.
