I've thoroughly talked about how the communication aspect of this show, is perhaps its USP. Not only does it enable the viewers to form a clear connect with the show and characters, but it also makes us want to appreciate the essence of honesty and truthfulness the show tries to promote. Today however I want to talk about some of the silences.
There was a lovely beginner scene between Aryan and Sanchi where so much was said through Sanchi's silence. It's heartening to watch how two individuals who were bound together by this idea of an arranged alliance, have come to understand each other's wishes and sentiments with so much endearment. You don't see that kind of love where a boy focuses more on the comfortability of his to-be-wife so early in a relationship and that too when the love is still gradually walking its pace. These kind of scenes are never shown on television because usually the whole agenda becomes that it's the girl's sole responsibility to discover her own sense of comfort at her in-law's place. Yet here, just like true partners, there is that understanding of sharing that responsibility. He wants to ensure his room feels warm, mellow and that it evokes the feeling of being her room too, from the very first day.
My favourite scene or perhaps one of the favourite from today's epi was Diwakar and Sarita's scene and how he never took the time to ask her if she wanted to bring along some of her memories from her maternal home. Again a very rare sight on television when you get to see the elder generation of a family, comprehending whether they overlooked a vital aspect or decision in life that they perhaps shouldn't have. His silence, when he quietly walks away from Aryan's room had said it all. And it's perhaps for the first time I feel so well-connected with the elder generation of a show's char line because of their ability to welcome progressive thoughts into their lives and evolve with the society whilst holding onto their ancestral roots.
Viren has got to be my all time favourite character of the show till now, purely because of his ability to look beyond the current situation and analyse the bigger picture as a whole. The way he addresses to dedicate issues like the card selection one today, makes you want to wish only good and happy days for him. He's a man of true support and endearment to all those people he adores and respects in his life. And for that reason his equation with Diwakar is such a winning partnership in itself because they both have that equal sense of admiration for one another. They almost have a synchronised sense of respect for one another where they both, whilst sitting in their own homes, wish the best for each other. Again, so much was said in that scene where he silently observed the rest of the family dwell in fancy decision making with the wedding planner. And yet what stood out from the scene, was how he doesn't take the decision on his own. There is this instinct need from his side to discuss his views and concerns with the whole family so they can all support him in the decision he wants to take.
Keen for tomorrow's episode tbh. The wedding ceremonies are just around the corner and something tells me that the wedding is going to be a memorable one not because of the expensive gifts or fancy decorations. But because these families will start understanding each other's silences even more accurately from now on which will only bring them closer.
