Guys I decided to make an individual post on the scene where Sita keeps the white flower at Ram's door as if she is keeping it on his feet, touches it and then keeps the blessings on her head and the wind takes the flower inside.
The scene was so beautiful, so touching and so heartbreaking. The color of the flower Sita kept was white signaling the purity of the love she has for her husband. Her devotion and trust on him unparalleled. Her world revolves around her Raghunandan and he is her Lord just like the earth revolving round the Sun.
And Ram sits in the room with the battle of head and heart going on within him. He breaks when he hears her call Raghunandan. But he doesn't open the door. And as she steps out from the palace the wind takes that white flower to him.
It was symbolic. Sita goes from Ram's life physically. He will not see her anymore. But her love, her life which she has dedicated to him and their sacred relationship will be felt by him. That's why we see the wind taking it. Because wind cannot be seen, can only be felt.
The people of Ayodhya couldn't see the love the king and queen had for each other. They couldn't see the way they were devoted to each other. They couldn't understand what trust is between husband and wife. Now the people who didn't see the love in Sita's presence will see that love in her absence. Sita will not be seen, but she will be felt in every corner of Ayodhya. The question will ring in every Ayodhya vasis mind " What is Sita's crime for which she got the punishment" . For the first time Ayodhya doesn't have a woman to point fingers for the problem they are facing. It is a man at the receiving end. A man whom Ayodhya has never seen before. A man who loved a woman truly, madly, deeply and just like she dedicated her life to him has dedicated his life to her.
Purity of love is not just maintained by her, but he maintains it. Separated from her none of Sanskriti's excuses could make this man even think about another woman in his life. Sita stayed in Ravan's custody for 11 months. Ram stays in Ayodhya without her for close to 11-12 years without having even a thought of another woman in his mind answering every praja who questioned his decision, who questioned the purity of his wife.
Centuries later even today patriarchy squirms in front of Maryada Purushottam. He makes every man uncomfortable when a woman asks why Ram banished Sita who had done AP. Reason the followers of Manusmriti has no answer as they cant point at a woman in Sita banishment. It points at a man the way Maryadapurushottam wanted it. A man says he wants a wife like Sita, but they forget to get a Sita they have to have something of Ram in them.
Purity of Sita is discussed. Woman as pure as Sita is the ideal wife, so shouldn't the man also be as pure as Ram who had only Sita before and after marriage in his life. I don't think any contemporary love story can bring out such a beautiful scene which touched your heart the way SKR portrayed Siya Ram's love yesterday.
Ram always treasured the flower Siya kept at his feet. He adorned her maang as the sindoor visible to everyone. But only those who went near understood she resided in his heart as his hearbeat.
