Lovely story. Cute Urmila searching for her little sister as she being the eldest from the family available at that moment at the palace apart from the servants. Little girl was responsible and that shows how she could understand Lakshman when he talked about his duties towards his brother.
Waiting fro the next part. It would be so nice to read as you have started this from their childhood.
EARLY YEARS
PART 2
Next morning brought back peace and happiness to Mithila. Kushadwaja returned victoriously from the battle field and Rajrishi Janak made him the king of Sankasya. Chandrabaga and Mandavi rejoiced this. Mandavi always wanted to be a Princess like her cousins Sita and Urmila in spite of them getting no unduly advantage over her due to that apart from being addressed as Princess by few maids of the palace. Still, It was a dream come true for her. Sita and Urmila were too happy for their Uncle's victory. Kirti was happy that her father returned home safely and was happy for his victory. But her father being crowned as the king of Sankasya disturbed her a lot. She was more disturbed as she will become a Princess once that happens. She didn't want to be a 'Princess'.
There were two reasons why she didn't like it. Though Urmila and Sita were never treated or asked to do something any different from her, she had heard stories of princesses all around the world from her Uncle. It was like she already knew what was waiting for them once they grow up. She knew that a princess and her privacy can never co-exist. Each and everything that happens in a princess's life and every small doing of her will become public for the citizens to enjoy and comment on. She was someone who cherishes and fiercely guards their privacy, so it was hard for her to accept this reality of hers at this young age. The other reason she feared becoming a princess was that she had to go to Sankasya leaving her sisters, her aunt and uncle behind. Within few days, Her uncle solved one of her problem by retaining her and her sister in Mithila for the sake of their education. But the other one was inevitable.
They soon started their education. They got trained in all forms of art viz. Painting, singing, dancing, pottery, stitching cooking and some oratory skills and other etiquette too as these were very important for any 'princess'. They were taught the Vedas and Upanishads too. All the sisters were very happy with their training. Sita was extremely good at cooking. She made delicious foods for the other three to munch during their breaks. Urmila loved to paint and was the first to grasp all the Vedas being taught to them. Mandavi was interested in singing and pottery. And without any doubt, they both loved their oratory classes. Very soon their physical fights started becoming more verbal. Kirti loved to dance and stitch. She stitched cute pairs of dresses for her doll. And after wearing them, even the cloth doll became a princess.
Wow, very nice and hearty update. yes the princess life will be an open book fro all and they can't have even small happiness such as plucking a flower or enjoying the rain without being questioned or advised against it saying how a princess should not do such things etc. Nice to see that Kirti as a private person who wants to keep her secrets to herself and enjoy her life to the fullest without being criticized.
Will wait for the next part and hope that will be little lengthy than this π
