Ram could never have decided to abandon the throne and gone with Sita. HE is not just an husband to be father. He was a King, he was a son, brother. He was born in a family with responsibility to take care of his kingdom and had to shoulder that responsibility. he had promised the Gods & Goddesses, his ancestors and his gurus and the Praja that he will ensure that his personal life doesn't affect his duty towards his Rajya & praja. He could not have run away from his responsibilities and be an husband alone. He was not like current day politicians who resign for no reason forgetting their responsibility towards the voters. Then the throne would be vacated only in case of defeat or death of that king and not otherwise.

I wish Ram gave up the kingdom to one of his brothers and left for another exiled life with sita. This would have changed the way society looks at women or treats them. Who cares if the woman was held hostage by someone, if her man loves and respect her, they have every right to be together. Why does the honor of the society is placed on a women's shoulder. Sad

Do you really think that Ram going with Sita would have shut the Praja's Mouth

No it would never been

You know what they would have called him " A man blinded by love for his wife who couldnt see the reality "

The mindset of public was sick , and it was nothing he could do about it , same is case in current society of ours

That's what I was thinking too. Why is it so wrong to love and respect their wife in our society. A man brings a woman removing her from her loved ones and her home where she was born to procreate and extend his family. She always deserve his live and respect. But society doesn't let him by calling him joru ka ghulam and what not. There by discouraging him from being a good companion to her. This is why I think men today don't respect women. They feel obligated to treat them as inferior sex, make jokes about them in harass them. They think she does not deserve to be their equal. They think they are the backbone of the society and the society can do without progressive women kind. If only they realise that treating women as equal and with respect could Only create a way better society. Kids will have a better upbringing overall, education and sanskar.
