A friend of mine went to traffic court to appeal his speeding ticket. The judge saw him wearing an ed hardy t-shirt and told him he isn't dressed for the decorum of the courts and quashed his appeal. I would think a state assmbly must have some dress code?

But people argue that Kamlesh Tiwari, who is rotting in prison for making some derogatory comments about Prophet Mohammed, should not have met that fate either. If he did, so should Vishal they argue. IMO, both absurd as hell.

Whoever is rotting in jail for speaking their minds is wrong...since when did we start filling our jails with douches...our constitution upholds freedom of speech...ab aise toh free speech per curfew lag jaayega...even when Salman said those disgusting remarks and the womens' commission kept summoning him...I was like ...WTH are they summoning him for...since when did being a douche became a crime in a democracy?? If people don't realize themselves , how wrong their words are, you kill them with words...not send them to jail..🥱

Is that true? Karunanidhi, when he was the chief minister of TN casually remarked Ram is just a figment of fiction and doesn't exist for real...Last I checked, he never even apologized for the remark, let alone be dragged to the courts and jail...Looks like its true that India is a democracy and secular country only for a few, not for everyone!

Although arresting him for this is ridiculous, but, as a public figure he is, he should be a little careful before making such statements especially, in our society where people will be pulled up for making such statements. Some people act like they will lose their life if they won't hold their tongue on atleast sensitive issues. That's really just inviting some unwanted headaches. Anyway, I doubt he will be arrested 😆
- IMHO.

I guess it started mostly cos of Kamlesh Tiwari rotting in prison over his comments. Freedom of speech went for a toss there so the opposing camp wants it gone for everyone else who does similar stuff. So stupid.

Yes it's true. Google 'Kamlesh Tiwari arrested'. I don't wanna post the article here and start another useless war. Yeah, Karunanidhi said that. Many others keep saying stupid things too. No one cares. MF Hussain made such derogatory images of our Godesses and called it art. The liberals defended him too. Strange sorta secularism in this country.

This is news to me. How can one directly go to supreme court without sessions court, and then high court and decisions and appeals have been exhausted?

You can directly approach the SC under Art 32 of the Consti if you feel your Fundamental Rights are being violated. The SC may then pass a writ petition if there is a merit in your case such as certiorari or prohibition against the lower court's order.
