Hanuman, through the information given by Trijata, finds the vaidya Sushen and brings him to the camp where Lakshman lies unconscious. The physician was kept hidden by Meghnad for a year, the same amount of time the Pandavas and Draupadi had to live in incognito. In both cases, the Crown Prince of the kingdom made them hide from the world. But, the Pandavas could only be freed by Time, and Sushen was freed by Hanuman. Both are Shivji, but one is formless and invisible, while the other is has a form and is mortal. The reason for this contrast is the condition of the Pandavas and Sushen. The Pandavas could choose where they wanted to hide and could run whenever they wanted to. They had freedom to a certain extent. But, Sushen was trapped for good, he couldn't chose where to be held or when to run- he had no choice or freedom. When we chose to help ourselves whenever we are in a problem, God helps, but only as a support, in an invisible form. But, when we are helpless and need God, He comes to us and acts as both our support and our helper. In the Pandavas' case, Mahadev only granted liberation, but He liberated, took Sushen away from the hut, and promised him protection. The Pandavas chose self-help, while Sushen picked self-surrender.

During the Meghnad and Lakshman war, we see that the Tridev has gone through a role reversal. Meghnad (or Bramha), the creator of illusions and Maya, has tried to destroy the vanar sena's spirits by attempting to kill Lakshman. Hanuman (or Mahadev) instead of destroying, is creating the path to Lakshman's revival. And Ram (or Vishnu) is not protecting, he is destroying his and his army's hopes by crying and lamenting. Because of the war, the Tridev is doing the opposite of what they are supposed to be doing. That is the truth of war- it is the opposite of what human nature is about. The human being was made for love and compassion, not for hatred and grudges.

The theme of the episode is information. Trijata gives Ram the information of Meghnad's secret, which leads to Sushen giving information about the Sanjeevani Booti. Meghnad gets the information that Hanuman has set off to get the herb, so he informs Kaalnemi and sends him to kill Hanuman. This episode has taught me that knowledge can come from everyone in the world, in some form or the other, but the secret of life can only be given by an enlightened person. A solider gave Meghnad the news that every solider new at that time. But, Trijata was a Mayavi herself, so she knew Meghnad's secret. Also, any vaidya can tell anything about medicine, but only Sushen could tell the army that Lakshman needs the Sanjeevini. To receive the special knowledge, you should only approach a special person.

congrats everyone for the new thread. It is good that positivity, indeed pays 😊.Shruthi, I too was reminded of Krishna and Govardhan today, for the mountain represents one of the nurturing qualities of nature as well as her qualities of endurance and steadfastness. Both the times it was lifted by Shivji and Hari...to save humans' life as well as to protect and heal them. Krishna needed to heal the people's faith in him which had invoked Indra's anger and Hanuman needed to heal Lakshman, Ram's defense{to quote you!}.We know that today if something had happened to Lakshman, Sita and Ram would have been on the brink of breaking a promise to the mothers and Urmila and this guilt would have destroyed them too. Isn't it what the term 'responsibility' means in essence.
Sulochana's dream of a horse overcoming her husband was quite symbolic. The dream of a horse represents one'sdivided strength as well as the unknown element in one's defense. So it emphasizes your theory Shruthi .
Also in Indian mythology the horse stands for Time and her dream proved that Meghnadh's time had run out. And the color black represents death and end of both ignorance and death.
Ravan fails as a king ,son, brother, husband and a father too. And in addition by killing the Rishis, he kills the quality of goodness completely. So basically He has defeated himself with regard to both Sanskriti's rules and nature's tenets. Thus in a way he has already lost the battle. All It needed was Ram to finish the war.

Savita di, nice to see you! Thank you for finding the symbolism for the dream, it was simple, but precise. Yes, responsibility doesn't only mean taking the expenses of someone, it means taking care of them. And yeah, Ravan has already lost long back to both Sanskriti and Prakriti, so to finish off the battle, they both incarnated as his death. Great analysis, di!

I was thinking about colors, and I got one symbolism for the Ramayan. Sita is Prakriti, green and lush, while Ravan is black, representing Tamas and darkness. When you mix the two colors, the end result is just a darker shade of green. Like that, at the end of the war, Sita remained, while Ravan died. But, Sita's live became darker, she got more troubles, for an invisible Ravan had leaked into her life, the Ravan of the society. And at the end, she proved her purity in the most shocking way, and green became a white and blank piece of paper.

Kaalnemi, the snake, traps Hanuman in his coils by acting as a Bhakt of Shri Ram. But, Hanuman grows bigger and bigger until the snake, due to the intense pressure, breaks into pieces and dies. The snake can represent the problems that we face in our life that threaten to crush us and our confidence into pieces. But, the problem is not more important than ourselves, so we should become bigger than our problems, and raise above them, then the problem itself will be destroyed. Instead of lamenting and being crushed by worry and anxiety, solve the problem. And most importantly, stay happy and confident. Sankat Mochan Hanuman is always smiling, so he is able to solve other people's problems along with his. When others are in trouble, you need to rise above the problem, act as a support and rescue the victims, and kill the problem at its roots, just like Shri Krishna killed the snake Aghasura when he trapped all of the Gopas. Remember, happiness is the key that unlocks the key even from the inside. Use it for yourself and for others.

Ravan is taking a blood-bath when Meghnad arrives to receive his share of displeasure. He says that doing this helps him rid himself of qualities such as fear and compassion. If he has to rid himself of fear, that means he has fear! Whatever we instill into others and how we behave is a reflection of our personality and feelings. Ravan tried to instill fear into everyone and rid himself of it by killing Vishnu Bhakts. And by killing munis, he is just aggravated it because the more sins you do, the more you fear the punishment. The blood he has shed will come back to him as his own shed blood. Likewise, if you try to plant the seed of love in a person, they reciprocate. And Ram does just that, and the proof of it is Bali, Parashuram, and Marich. And because of the love he gives, he gets love from everyone, even today. But, Ravan, who gives even his family hatred, is abandoned by everyone. But, at the end, he receives love and compassion from Ram, and finally, Dharma blossoms in Ravan's heart.

The theme of this episode is scoldings. Ram scolded Lakshman for forgetting Guru Vishwamitra's teachings and succumbing to anger, but forgave him at the end. And, Ravan scolds Meghnad for not being able to kill the young princes, and calls him weak and strengthless. This episode taught me that a criticism can be taken in two ways. Constructively and destructively. Lakshman, after hearing what is Bhaiya had to say, promised Ram that he would never succumb to anger again. On the other hand though, Meghnad is upset that his father is upset with him, and instead of improving, is stuck there, and he takes a bad decision at the end. Remember, every word spoken for you eventually is for your own good. Change your perception and see good in everything. Very soon, you will see that you have become good, in other's and your eyes.

Thank you Gowri.
Loved your color symbolism .Yes indeed, Ram defeats and destroys Ravan but is not able to destroy his influence which find its fertile ground in the minds of the people in Ayodhya. Isn't it what is prevalent in our society ? I remember in Delhi the burning of Ravan, meghnadh and Khumbakaran's effigies was done with lots of pomp and show. But women, till today get a raw deal because the trio's evil remains in the minds of some men. Ravan represents the seed of evil, Meghanadh the blind adherence to it and Khumbkaran represents the society's apathy and indifference towards such deplorable actions that, results in a destructive society.

@Savitha thank you clarifying on that horse symbolism. Sulo understands, but Meghnadh unable to see it
@Gowri it is said that we see in others what is there in us. It was not Sita who had Ravan in her. She was pure. Agni returns the lush green back. But the people who had darkness in them were unable to see the lush green as they could only see the darkness.
This is where I always talk with represent to Shanta or hypocrite society of Ayodhya. Lanka if you look has no mask. It is what it is. But Ayodhya pretends to see lush green, but sees only darkness. It is very difficult to correct such a society.
@Savitha yes Krishna needs to show people they will be protected if they stand for what is right. Krishna has shown it multiple times in MB. When Ram receives help from many people in Ramayan in his endeavor, Krishna becomes that help in MB. That's why Krishna and Hanuman are most sort after. They stand for protection. In a way both Hari and Hara stands for protection of right deeds.

@Gowri do yourself what you expect from others. When Ram tells Laxman control your anger, he is a man who has done that himself. When Ravan came he did control his emotions and spoke
Ram didn't question Laxman on leaving Sita because he himself was a victim of treachery, so how can he expect his wife and brother wont fall. That's why Ram's maryada is of highest order. He doesn't ask anyone to do anything which he himself has not done.
Same with Krishna. Before his birth his parents lost his 6 brothers, he killed his uncle, so when he says to Arjuna stand against your family when they are adharmis means he has done the same in his family.
