Kaalnemi, the snake, traps Hanuman in his coils by acting as a Bhakt of Shri Ram. But, Hanuman grows bigger and bigger until the snake, due to the intense pressure, breaks into pieces and dies. The snake can represent the problems that we face in our life that threaten to crush us and our confidence into pieces. But, the problem is not more important than ourselves, so we should become bigger than our problems, and raise above them, then the problem itself will be destroyed. Instead of lamenting and being crushed by worry and anxiety, solve the problem. And most importantly, stay happy and confident. Sankat Mochan Hanuman is always smiling, so he is able to solve other people's problems along with his. When others are in trouble, you need to rise above the problem, act as a support and rescue the victims, and kill the problem at its roots, just like Shri Krishna killed the snake Aghasura when he trapped all of the Gopas. Remember, happiness is the key that unlocks the key even from the inside. Use it for yourself and for others.
Ravan is taking a blood-bath when Meghnad arrives to receive his share of displeasure. He says that doing this helps him rid himself of qualities such as fear and compassion. If he has to rid himself of fear, that means he has fear! Whatever we instill into others and how we behave is a reflection of our personality and feelings. Ravan tried to instill fear into everyone and rid himself of it by killing Vishnu Bhakts. And by killing munis, he is just aggravated it because the more sins you do, the more you fear the punishment. The blood he has shed will come back to him as his own shed blood. Likewise, if you try to plant the seed of love in a person, they reciprocate. And Ram does just that, and the proof of it is Bali, Parashuram, and Marich. And because of the love he gives, he gets love from everyone, even today. But, Ravan, who gives even his family hatred, is abandoned by everyone. But, at the end, he receives love and compassion from Ram, and finally, Dharma blossoms in Ravan's heart.
The theme of this episode is scoldings. Ram scolded Lakshman for forgetting Guru Vishwamitra's teachings and succumbing to anger, but forgave him at the end. And, Ravan scolds Meghnad for not being able to kill the young princes, and calls him weak and strengthless. This episode taught me that a criticism can be taken in two ways. Constructively and destructively. Lakshman, after hearing what is Bhaiya had to say, promised Ram that he would never succumb to anger again. On the other hand though, Meghnad is upset that his father is upset with him, and instead of improving, is stuck there, and he takes a bad decision at the end. Remember, every word spoken for you eventually is for your own good. Change your perception and see good in everything. Very soon, you will see that you have become good, in other's and your eyes.
