His hands were folded on his chest and his back was facing Nandini. She took slow steps and came near him. Without letting him know she wrapped her arms around him from the back.
He smiled and pulled her in the front and embrace her in his warm arms. They both stayed still like that for couple of minutes.
"Are you alright.." he asked.
She nodded her head in his chest.
"Tired..." he asked again.
She nodded her head again.
He caresses her head with his hand very gently.
She rest her head on his chest for quite a long time.
Then she said.
"Manik.."
"Hmm..."
"I wanted to tell you something.." she said and lift her head to look at him.
He knew what she wanted to say. He kept his mouth shut.
"Manik..." her lashes fell on her cheeks. She wanted to confess her feelings to him. Her true feelings.
He's been waiting for her confession.
But right now he just wanted Nandini to relax and forget about everything.
"Manik...I.. L..." Manik put his finger on her lips to stop her.
She opened her eyes wide and lift her eyebrows.
He shook his head back and forth and stopped her.
"I know what you wanted to say. It can wait. Right now I want you to relax your mind and enjoy this night. Forget about everything. Just feel my love from here...". Taking his hand he pressed it on her heart. After waiting for few minutes,
He took her hands and slung it around his neck and dropped his hands looping her waist.
He turned on his phone for some music. The music was so much soothing that they both floated on the floor of the canopy.

His soft and soulful voice soothes her body. He kept her head on his shoulders and they swayed. Their bodies in sync melted into each other's smell. The music from his phone was making the atmosphere very romantic.
She forgot about the tension already. The moonlight shines on their faces and the fires flies is ingniting here and there.
Kitna gehre halke shaam ke rang hai chalke
Parvat se yun utre baadal jaise anchal dhalke
He twirled her around and grabbed her dupatta threw it in the air. She was matching every step with him with a wide smile on her lips.
Aur iss pal mein koi nahi hai

Kuch naa kaho kuch bhi naa kaho
The soft music is cutting through the quiet darkness and can easily goes a little away to the main house.
Amms couldn't sleep because she was worried for Nandini. She was standing in the widow listening to the song.
She felt someone covered her with a shawl.
She turned to see Vishnu standing there with a smiling face.
"He has a very soulful voice... ladka Acha hai... don't worry too much amma... sab theek hoga... aap so jaaiye..," he said and went away.
In another room Abhimanyu was tossing and turning on his bed and Mukti can see his worrisome face. He got up from the bed and walked out of his room into the balcony.
Mukti followed him as Pari was sound asleep in her baby cot.
Sulgi sulgi saansein behki behki dhadkan
Mehke mehke shaam ke saaye pighle pighle tanman
Manik gesture her with his head to came and give her company. She ran to him in his arms. They both do the Waltz taking the steps together.
Aur iss pal mein koi nahi hai

Kuch naa kaho kuch bhi na kaho
Mukti hold Abhimanyu's arm from the side and rest her head on his strong muscular arm.
"Nandini ab badi ho gayi hai... you all should give her the liberty to make her own decisions and you all should trust her decisions...".
Abhimanyu heard her and gave a thoughtful look at her.
She nods her head.
Kuch na kaho kuch bhi naa kaho

Manik take her to the swing that's already there and make her sit on it.
Samay ka yeh pal tham sa Gaya hai
Aur iss pal mein koi nahi hai

She was looking at him with her lungs squeezed out all the air flow. His closeness is taking away her breath already. His eyes were dark with desires.
She knew he was going to kiss her. And to her surprise she didn't back off.
Her heart pounded so hard in her chest that it literally ached.
His lips met hers finally.
A smile crept on his lips when she kissed him back letting herself sink into him, letting go all the tense she has gone through just now.
His strong hands find his way at her back caressing and making her relax.
Something in her chest opened up the warmth she felt by his kiss gave way to her desires. Her feelings awoke inside her that make way to confess her love to him.
She opened her mouth to him and let his tongue stroke hers.
His lips move over hers, slowly and sensually. Her body responded to his demanding kisses that made him want to have more. Including everything.
She glide her tongue along his lower lip and bit him. He shudders and groans with her bold move. She could feel his muscles went tight under her palms.
Nandini's feet was going gooy by his touches and his fingers at her back.
Only one kiss can lead to all this. But her response was making him crazy. His tongue mingled with hers and make her out of breath. Her hands gripped his shirt.
He left her mouth and buried his face in her neck and hugged her passionately.
"I know Nandini... you want the same thing that I want..." he left his face and glance in her eyes.
"But we will wait...till your family comes around... especially Amms... because I can understand she holds a special place in your heart... so don't worry...".
She rest her head on his shoulders and closed her eyes. He leaned back on the swing and rocked it with his feet. Both of them closed their eyes and went to sleep on the swing.
When she woke up she with the beep beep of the alarm. She closed the alarm and found herself wrapped in Manik's arms on his bed. She checked the time it's only five in the morning.
Her head is resting on his chest and his arms were embraced around her. Her whole body was half on him and half on the bed. She lift her face and looked at him. He was sleeping peacefully like a baby. She looked around and thought. Maybe he brought both of them in the bed room when she was fast asleep.
She felt light and content. She thought of last night. A cute smile crept on her lips.
How he diverted her mind from the tension. She felt lucky that Manik understands her so well. But she wonders.
'Did he heard everything what happened between the family. Did he know that Amms was not ready for this proposal. I didn't even ask him...' she thought.
He opened her eyes and saw her thinking face.
"Good morning..you are awake.." he said pulling her closer, gave a peck on her forehead.
"Good morning to you too.." she blushed getting caught looking at him.
"You know I could give anything to be with you every morning.." he said.
She smiled at his comment.
"You are thinking something.., what is it.." he asked seeing her face.
"Nothing serious... I was just wondering.." she said.
"What.."
"Yahi... did you by any chance heard the conversation that happened between us..."
He didn't expected this question from her.
"You treated me like a princess last night... and was totally lost in your song and your affection... I wonder maybe you heard everything..." she continued.
He thought for a while and answer her.
"I heard some of it... and I got the whole picture... I understand what your family is going through or thinking...but you don't worry... everything will be alright...".
"So you knew that Amms did not agree on this proposal..." she became sad.
He got up from the bed in the same position with her on top of him.
"Nandini don't worry... sab theek ho jaayega..." he consoled her.
"You think Amms maan jaayegi..." she asked making circles on his chest.
"I'm sure woh zaroor maan jaayegi... we will wait till she gives her ok..." he assured her.
"Aur agar Amms ne naa kar diya tou.." she was being very skeptical.
"Tou hum unko manaayenge..." he said.
She didn't say anything.
"You don't worry at all... leave everything on me... I'll handle it ok.." he said caressing her head.
After some time she got up from him and said.
"I think I should go now.. warna Amms to pata chal jaayega..."
he too got up from the bed and called her
"Nandini Ek minute..."
"Hmm..."
he walked to her and said.
"Please don't worry... ok..." he cupped her face in his palms and said.
"Mere liye..." he kissed her forehead. She nodded her head with a smile.
On the breakfast table everyone was there except Amms. She was missing.
"Amms kahan hai..." Nandini asked serving to Nanu.
"One of her friend got sick, she went to meet her.. she will be back till the evening.." Nirmala said.
They all chitchat and planned for site seeing again.
But Nanu was tired so she didn't wanted to go. Manik and Nandini was worried. They didn't want to leave Nanu alone. But Nirmala assured them that she will take care of her.
So the younger generation went for site seeing
Including Manik, Nandini, Cabir Navya, Dhruv , Aliya and Mukti along with Pari and Rishab. Abhimanyu made an excuse because he wanted to think over again on the proposal so he needed some time alone to clear his mind. The day went by fast. When they came back the decorations for the birthday party for Amms were in full swing.
It was not sunset yet. The house was decorated with fresh flowers the front yard is covered with rangoli as Amms love colors.
The tents has been setup in the backyard with chairs and tables. A small stage has been setup in the front for some performances. The important performance will be of Nandini's of course.
When everyone came inside. Nandini asked for Amms. Nirmala said Amms is not here yet.
Nandini figures out that Amms is avoiding her. Nandini became sad thinking about it.
Manik noticed this. But he didn't say anything. He too wanted to talk to Amms but he was not getting a chance.
It was morning around 4am. Nandini wakes up by the alarm.
Manik pulled her closer and asked.
"Why are getting up so early. It's not even morning yet..."
"It's Amms birthday Manik.. she don't like to be wished in the midnight because she didn't wanted her sleep to be disturbed. We all her grand children wish her first thing in the morning. You want to come.." Nandini explained and asked him.
Manik rubbed his eyes and sat up on the bed.
"It's gonna be the grandchildren, how can I join you guys..." he asked.
"Doesn't matter... one day you will become the member of this family. So just let's practice..." Nandini got out of the bed and pulled his wrist.
"Are you sure... what if she minds.." Manik didn't wanted to ruin Amms already bad mood.
"Kuch nahi hoga..." she said and pulled him again.
"Ok ok... I'll be fresh in 5 minutes..and I'll come down..." he said getting up brushing his lips on her forehead.
Everyone else were waiting for Nandini. She appears from her room. But they all halted when they see Manik emerging out from the guest house.
They all exchanged the looks from Manik to Nandini.
"I asked him to come..." Nandini whispered clearing the doubt.
"Is it a good idea.." Abhimanyu asked concerned.
"Of course Abhi... even me and Mukti are here naa... so hopefully Amms will not mind..." Cabir supported Nandini.
They all entered Amms room. She came out of the washroom wiping her face with the towel.
She got surprised Seeing them in her room.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMMS.."
they all said in unison.
A huge smile came on her face. She said.
"Thank you bacho.." she hugged everybody one by one.
Last came Nandini. She hugged her and wished her again.
Amms felt happy and content. But she didn't say anything or smiled.
Nandini kissed on both of her cheeks and said.
"I love you Amms... I love you a lot.."
Manik heard her and smiled too. He can see and observe how much Nandini loved Amms. And amms decision matters a lot to her..
When Nandini moved away Manik went forward and bend down to touch her feet and get her blessings.
He said.
"Happy birthday Amms... may you live a long life with good health. Many many happy returns of the day..."
Amms looked at him. And Manik was sure that she has a slight bit of smile on her lips.
"Thank you.." she said.
Manik couldn't resist himself from leaning down and kissing her on her cheek. She seems like Nanu to him.
Amms got shocked with his move but she didn't show it on her face.
"Ok bacho tum log thoda rest karlo.. warna sab ke chehre shaam ki party mein murjhaye hue lagenge.." Amms said.
They all left from there.
In the evening the party started with full boom. Every one dressed elegantly.
Amms wore a kanchiwaram saree. She is looking highly sophisticated.
The whole family was busy entertaining and welcoming the guests.
Amms birthday is the most awaited event, As it's at the end of the year. People waits for this event because Amms donates a lots of food and clothes.
Cake cutting ceremony was taken care of by all the grandchildren around her. She loves all her family. Every year it's Nandini and Navya who stands on both of her sides.
But this year Navya slowly let Manik takes her place hold Amms hands while she cuts the cake.
It's time for the performances. And the most awaited performance of the evening is Nandini's.
As soon as the music started the whole place went silent and dark.
Nandini's posture was only seen with the spot light. She was standing like a beauty queen with a red embroidered lehnga a blouse and a matching red embroidered dupatta hanging on her side which Manik gifted her for this occasion.
She is a dancing diva. People all over the town wanted to see her dance.

Manik has stopped her from confessing her love the other night, but here she is openly accepting her love for him in front of the whole world.
Her whole family is very important to her. She can do anything for them. But now she is giving Manik the priority over her family.
He felt elated Seeing this. As soon as her performance is done he left from the place to hide his excitement. To just to keep Nandini away at a distance, because if she sees him and come near him then he was sure that she will come and hug him in front of the guests. And he couldn't stop her.
When the performance was done the party was ending. All the guests praise Nandini's dance before leaving. When the guest leaves and only the family was left, there was a different kind of shine on Amms face.
No one knows what she was thinking. At last Vishnu couldn't control himself and asked her.
"Amma Kya baat hai... aap bahut kush lag rahi ho.."
"Tumne dekha Nandu ka dance... how talented she is... how good of a dancer she is... you want to keep her talent away and get her married.." she was still stuck on her point.
"Amma aapne uska dance dekha... per uske dance ke peeche chupa hua pyaar nahi dekha... uska junoon nahi dekha..." he sat beside her and hold her hands.
"Amma Nandu loves Manik too much... to the extremes... didn't you notice amma...she was not our Nandu when she was dancing...she was a different girl on that stage, who was dancing out her feelings for her love... try to understand amma..." he was trying a very hard to convince Amms but was in vain.
"Vishnu main dekha rahi hoon... tum Kya samjhte ho main apni bachi ko itna bhi Nahi jaanti hoon... mujhe San pata hai... iss liye Maine Ek faisla liya hai, Aur iss faisle mein uski bhalayi hai..."she dropped the bomb at last in front of the family. But Nandini was not there. She went to look for Manik as he disappeared right after her performance.
She search him everywhere. In the end she went to the same place where they spend the night under the moonlight.
He was standing there in the same position again.
"Manik..." she called him. He turned around and looked at her.
To see her glowing face is what he was waiting for. The face which is drowned in his love. Her whole being is screaming the love for him.
She walked and came near him.
"Did you like my performance..." she asked.
"Sshh..." he kept his index finger on her lips.
"There's something I needed to do since I saw you on the stage in that dress..."
He lift his hand and moved her hair behind her ears.
She let out s sigh from her mouth which gave him a signal to continue what he was doing.
He dipped his face to her mouth and gave her a thorough kiss that took her breath away. She closed her eyes to feel him. His presence. His closeness.
Her fingers automatically slide behind his head.
He kissed her till they were out of breath.
He rest his forehead on hers with his eyes closed.
Her face was still in her hands. Her eyes closed too.
"I love you Nandini... I love you so much.." he said.
"I love you Manik... I love you too." And the words came out of her mouth.
Those precious words. Which can take his breath away.
He opened his eyes and was stilled in his place.
She was looking directly into his face without blinking.
He couldn't say anything. He knew that she loves him. But hearing from her mouthwill give him such pleasure, he didn't imagined.
His heart was beating faster than usual.
"I've been wanted to tell you for so long, but..." she was cut off with his hearty voice.
"Phir se bolo..." he asked in an unbelievable way.
"I... love you... I love you so much...I can't breath without you... I can't live without you.." she said again.
Manik pulled her in a tight hug and snuggles his face in the crook of her neck.
"Thank you... thank you so much for loving me... and announcing it in front of the whole world..." he was flying in the sky.
