The King of Bollywood drama, who is known for portraying larger than life scenes, Karan Johar turns a year older today. Gracing the Hindi Cinema with family hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Student of The Year and My Name is Khan; he has never failed to entertain us in his own way.

Not only his directorial films, but also the movies made under his production banner, Dharma Productions have done exceptionally well. Take Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani for instance; didn't it inspire us, giving us all some major friendship goals?

When it comes to taking inspiration, how can Television shows keep away? TV shows have time and again taken inspiration from his films, using iconic scenes and even complete plots. Here we have 5 television shows which took ideas from KJO movies!

Kaisi Hai Yaariyan - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

The admired youth show, Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan copied a scene completely, inspired by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In the film Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) hugs his best friend Anjali (Kajol) while he holds his newfound love Tina's (Rani Mukerji) hand. In the TV show Dhruv (Utkarsh Gupta) recreates the same scene by hugging his friend Nandini (Niti Taylor) while holding Aaliya's hand (Krissan Bareto).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai - Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

This popular TV show picked up the entire plot from K3G. Here Naksh is seen living in Australia with his parents Akshara (Hina Khan) and Naitik (Karan Mehra). He visits India to meet his family in India to win their hearts and reunite the family. Doesn't it remind you of K3G and its plot where Hrithik's role seems to have inspired Naksh' (Rohan Mehra)? Also Naksh' entry in the show has an uncanny resemblance to SRK's entry in K3G where his mom senses her son returning.

Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Don't we all remember the iconic scene from this film where SRK asks Kajoldance to the tunes of the rain while there is no music? Well, this scene was revisited by the serial Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, where Neil (Ronit Roy) and Ragini (Pallavi Kulkarni) were seen wearing similar clothes, in the same set, romancing each other in the rain!

Parvarrish Season 2 - Student of The Year

This show not only shows the story of the reunion of two childhood friends and their families, but also the competition between Riya, Jassi and Jogi in a similar format of the movie Student of The Year! With the jealousy, love, competition and friendship, this TV show will remind of many moments similar to the film! The entire Student of the year track was inspired by the film.

Miley Jab Hum Tum - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

The youth-centric TV show Miley Jab Hum Tum resembles the film in many ways! The scene between Samrat (Mohit Sehgal) and Gunjan (Sanaya Irani) where Samrat bumps into Gunjan just like how SRK (Rahul) meets Rani (Tina) with a pile of books is only one out of the many instances.

Yes, Karan Johar's movie scenes and even plots have been used a multiple times and shall continue for long enough as these movies have proven to be iconic and unforgettable. We can't thank KJO enough for these evergreen films that we Bollywood lovers could never get over of.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday and may you keep entertaining us with all your films!
